    Text conversation with ABC Bartending

I got my bartending license a little over a decade ago from the Fort Lauderdale location. It was suppose to come with "lifetime refresher courses", however I'm being given the run around. I've called them multiple times and when I do talk to someone, he's a bit dismissive. I didn't take it personal but he doesn't take any information or anything when we talked about the dates for classes. After missing the one in January, I called to reschedule and I don't think he even asked for my name. Definitely didn't save it anywhere so this feels a bit like a misrepresentation on their part at this point. I showed up to the school after my last phone call with them, telling me the next class was night time 3/25-3/28/2024, and nobody is there. My phone calls are not answered then I get a text message telling me it's the following week. I requested confirmation a few days ago now on dates, in writing since the last time was verbal and I'm 100% sure of the dates he gave me, and nobody has gotten back to me. I texted the business phone number. It's a shame, I did like the class when I went and the lifetime refresher was a great perk, too bad it's just a manipulation tactic. I feel at this point as thought it's intentional and my information wasn't taken because they had no intentions in helping me. Screenshot attached. By this point I've had several short phone call conversations with them, clearly to be misinformed and I'm not interested anymore. I won't be trying to take the refresher anymore after this, just wanted to give future students a heads up.

Such a great way to spend time with friends. Cooking School! And given I can't cook- it's so nice…read morethat they take the time to show you what you will be making with tips along the way. If you check out their website- they have a list of what is on that week's cooking school menu. You call and make a reservation and give your credit card number over the phone. When you look at the offerings, the ones that say "hands on" are the ones where you are actually chopping, frying, boiling etc. I've also been to sessions here where it is more of a lecture and you just listen and the pros cook. On my most recent adventure- my friends and I chose the "Chinese New Year Celebration" menu which included pork dumplings, salmon wraps, Mongolian beef, longevity noodles and a sweet pancake for dessert. The price without alcohol for this was $85. They also have alcohol available for purchase. What's really nice is after you have cooked all of the food at the various stations, the experts take it in the back, plate it, and then serve it to you at communal tables. About 10 people showed up, all eager to cook so strangers are not strangers for long! It starts at 6pm and we were done around 9. There is plenty of paid street parking just north of the location. I would highly recommend this as a fun night out! I'm already seeing what is next on her list of classes!

We beginners had expectations based on what was presented and these expectations weren't met; such as correct arrival time and its purpose (we could have arrived at 10:00), wearing a swim cap, sunscreen to wear to protect the reefs, when to take Dramamine. After inquiring about it when we were out on the water. First mate John discussed the timing of when to use Dramamine (night before and an hour or hour and a half before getting on boat) and that there is not any on the the boat and it would not be effective. Dramime instructions should be just as clear as the waiver that if you take this risk no one is responsible for the outcome and it extends to your heirs. He further stated I would need to go to "the shop" to pick up the Dramamine that was purchased while booking in addition to speaking to them about detailed preparation instructions. We did appreciate the Captain saying that he would provide something to smell and suggested focusing on a particular thing if motion sickness occurs. I did not get the vibe that first mate John was prepared or willing to go in the water to rescue if he had to. I did not stay in water long, I could not relax as I had a hard time with blowing air out, and inhaling salt water. I attempted twice and exhausted myself. In those brief moments I saw grey or silver fish, nothing as beautiful as when I was in the ocean years ago (pollution sure has damaged this ecosystem) . My two other companions stayed out for a little bit and did not see a variety of fish, or any other marine life that wows. The two viewing squares were not clear like glass. A disappointment for our companion that did not snorkel. Captain was clear on his instructions and expectations! When we ended the the Captain mentioned buying things to protect the reefs; I want to reiterate I do not recall this being communicated prior to booking. My hope is that beginners see this and are more informed than we were and that those responsible for updating instructions would include these tips.
