I said Yes to the dress and could not have done it without Erica! So... I finally gave in to my mother to start dress shopping. I made an appointment with Winnie, not thinking that this would be the weekend that I would find the dress and definitely not thinking that I would find my dress at the first bridal shop-- Winnie Couture. I met Erica, who had previously been texting me during the week about styles of dresses I liked and wanted to try on-- we immediately gelled. Her positive attitude, sense of humor, and authenticity were exactly what we needed to make the appointment light, fun, and an unforgettable experience. Like every bride, wedding dress shopping with their mother is special. My experience was special to me because my mother raised me, her only child, on her own after my father passed away suddenly less than 2 years after they were married. I wore one of his old sweaters to the appointment to have a piece of him there. I tried on a few dresses-- some looked good, some looked less than good on me. Erica was honest and fun the entire time. When the dress styles that I thought would look great on me didn't, Erica recommended dresses that pushed me "out of the box". Then I put on "the dress"-- the dress that I wasn't supposed to find that weekend. Its a custom dress-- my favorite characteristics of 2 different dresses into 1! My mother balled. And even Erica cried! (She told me that she'd been working for almost 20 years in bridal dress fashion and never once cried!) It was a special and touching moment! I felt like a bride-- I looked great and I know my fiancee is going die when he sees me in it coming down the aisle. The entire Winnie Couture experience was great-- since I said "yes, to the dress" I've returned for my fitting and a dress reveal with my best friends/bridesmaids. My dress shopping experience went from sweet to sour real quick. I flew from TN to ATL to shop at this store. My appointment was with ELISHA, which went well but I was definitely lied to for the sake of a sale. I purchased the dress in February, told it would be ready in July. Paid to have the dress making process expedited and everything. I made sure that my dress could be shipped to the Nashville location because as stated above, I live in TN...and again I was promised before coming back in the next day to finalize my purchase that it could be done, which made me feel comfortable. Well....when July came no one remembered telling me that they could ship it to Nashville. I was told my dress could only be picked up OR shipped to my home. Who wants a $4,000 purchase that's supposed to be for a special moment shipped with no guarantees of coverage for damages made within the shipping process. Also, the point of it being shipped was because I COULD NOT COME BACK TO THIS LOCATION to pick it up. I spoke with the manager CHANDLER and to say the least she didn't give a damn. It was like talking to a brick wall. She assured me that brides get dresses shipped all the time so "it's fine." Not one compensation was made for the lie they told and the piss poor customer service. I didn't have the opportunity of trying on a $4,000 dress at a bridal store...I had to do it in the living room and hope that when it got it, it was as expected Also after calling to get more confirmation about my purchase they stopped answering the phone for me so I had to call from someone else's phone. I agree with Tracy D....Every bride should go here. Alexa was my consultant, but the whole team helped me come up with a solution that fit my needs. Both of my grandmothers passed away from breast cancer so I was intent on having a pink dress to honor them. I found the perfect dress, but it wasn't pink like I wanted. Alexa and her team (mainly Jessica) came up with the solution to have the lining of the dress be pink. That way I could still honor my grandmothers without taking altering the dress too much. While there she did not pay attention to my budget whatsoever and tried to sell me a dress that was at least $1000 over. I came all the way from LA to accompany my cousin for her gown fitting, I'm the maid of honor so of course I had to be there. I must say although it was the first and only bridal shop I've been to I know nothing will ever compare to it. From the moment I walked in, Winnie was fabulous. The store is tucked away off of Peachtree right after the new LA Fitness. I had a great bridal consultant (can't remember her name) that was super attentive to listening what I imagined wearing and pulling things she thought I'd like based on that. After trying on several dresses, I found a SERIOUS contender for "the one" that she pulled for me. I wasn't crazy about it on the hanger but it looked so beautiful on! I ended up walking out not purchasing the dress that day because 1. I was with girlfriends and wanted to experience shopping with my Mom and 2. the alterations that I would have wanted to be done were adding up VERY quickly as we went over them (ie custom length, sweetheart neckline, etc.) and needed to crunch numbers without feeling pressured. When we went shopping a few months later, I ended up finding a different dress that I fell head over heels for, so we never went back to try on the Winnie dress. Curvy Girl Beware! During my dress journey I have come across some great and not so great bridal boutiques. Winnie Couture is one of the not so great. The person that scheduled my appointment was very nice and personable. When I arrived at my appointment a week later, the consultant was nice enough to hit a check box. However, I felt rushed and like I was not listened to even after I explained the dress shape I was looking for. Winnie Couture had decent dress styles but I was not impressed by the sample sizes. When I was in the store to schedule my bridal appointment, I indicated the dress on display I would like to try. I explained I did not want any other dress as the display dress looked like it could be my dress. When I arrived for my appointment the dress was not available for me to try on in a proper size. I am a street size 10 with a flat stomach. I was told that they could order the dress for me. I thought that they meant they could order it for me to try on. No they wanted me to blindly purchase a dress without trying it on. The things that make you go hmmm. I guess they don't have and are unwilling to get sexy dress style sample sizes for street size 10 curvy women like myself. Each time they brought me a dress that was a sample it was a A-Line . Most A-Line dresses look flattering to most body shapes. However, each dress they brought for me to try on was so large that I looked like a thrown away bride instead of a beautiful bride. The second bridal consultant kept looking over from her desk area almost disinterested but giving my bridal consultant a look as if to say "I'll be glad when this is over". I went ahead and ended my appointment without saying anything as I felt rushed and as if my possible business was not needed. They surely were not in the business of making me feel special as a bride. Brides take heed to my advice when I say go here if you only want the name and to spend money. I tried on a couple different dresses, but I was in love with the "Danessa" that I already picked out on their website. I was measured for alterations and even with the dress pinned I was in love with the way that it complimented my body. GREAT experience! My mom and I had an exhausting day running all around town trying to find THE dress but we came up empty handed until we went to Winnie! We walked in and the atmosphere is immediately inviting and super girly and relaxed, we heard giggling in the back room and we were greeted by Winer with champagne. We told Winer the parts of dresses we liked throughout the day, I must've tried on 30+ dresses; she listened and said "I have the dress for you." I must say I am so confused given the earlier reviews - my experience with Winnie Couture was amazing!! I walked in and and my group and I were promptly greeted and offered champagne. They had all the dresses I had chosen earlier on the website already ready, asked me if I had changed my mind, altered the selection and we got started! My consultant was Winer and she was a dream. We both knew the second dress was the one and we were right - at no point did I feel pressured to purchase the gown.
