Another five star experience! In my last review, I mentioned how I'd update with my pickup experience, so here I am! My dress was expected to ship on October 17th, as an estimate. However, The Sentimentalist called me on October 8th to let me know it arrived at their shop! I was so excited! Since I was out of town, I booked an appointment for October 15th, requesting to be paired with Lauren again if possible. I parked and headed inside for my 12PM appointment. The associate at the counter got me checked in, asked if I wanted anything to drink, and seated me in my room. Soon, I was met by a smiling and sweet Lauren! She had arranged her schedule to make sure she could be there with me today. She guided me to where my gown was hanging and prepped for me, and stood right outside the curtain in case I needed assistance. When I came out and looked in the mirror, I was so pleased. I had brought my veil and shoes with me for the full effect, and Lauren had even kindly boxed my veil up for me and packed it in a nice tote bag, since I had brought it in all wound up inside the shipping bag it had come in in. It's the little things that really mean so much. Lauren, as well as the other stylists who peered around the corner to see me in my dress and offer kind words, made me feel so beautiful. I am so grateful for all of their help throughout the process of getting me my perfect wedding dress! I am absolutely thrilled with it and can't wait to wear it on the big day! I had a beautiful experience shopping and buying here! Sarah W assisted me and I can tell she's the kind of person who matches your vibe and could make anyone feel comfortable. She got a feel for what I wanted, then we walked around the store and she pointed out fabrics, shapes, and dress details to get an even better understanding of what I should try on. The store is spacious and open. I liked that I had my own space for me and my guests, but it was open enough to not feel claustrophobic. I ended up coming back after my first appointment to buy one of the dresses I first tried, and the buying experience was professional and smooth. The selection was great - a wide variety from eccentric to classic. It was also the best experience I had as a mid size bride. Let me just say there is a reason this place has 5 stars. They are flawless. So I'm a bigger woman and have a few extra pounds on me. I have experienced extremely fat phobic remarks at OTHER bridal salons. The Sentimentalist is the most size inclusive I've ever seen/ experienced they go up to a size (38) So I started off my visit with just accessories. Hannah was my consultant. She really took the time to hear all my concerns and I felt she really cared. Hannah then personally put my hair in a nice updo. That is unheard of ! The fact that she took the time to put my hair up automatically set them above every other shop I've ever been to. So I picked out some accessories and figured out I couldn't make a decision without putting my dress on. Unfortunately I didn't have my dress on me. They went above and beyond and gave me time to go and grab my dress from my moms house. They gave me an extra hour. That is unheard of!!! They are the best bridal salon I've ever been to. Their selection and attention to the small things sets them above any other bridal shop. I seriously recommend coming here. You will have the best time. I also highly recommend booking with Hannah. I can't thank the universe enough for The Sentimentalist. I had my first wedding dress appointment at A DIFFERENT BRIDAL SHOP and without getting into detail it was terrible. When I got a phone call from the Sentimentalist saying that a spot had opened that afternoon, I was relieved - and hopeful that things would turn around, and boy did they. Hannah was a saint. She was so knowledgeable about the entire collection, the different types of fabrics, fits and what I might be interested in. She made me feel so comfortable trying on things outside of my comfort zone and walked me through whatever I needed to find the perfect dress. I'm pretty sure she knew which one I would end up with from the moment we started talking, but she allowed me to try on as many as I needed to get to that conclusion myself. I swear, she's a wedding dress wizard. Once I was back in THE dress, Hannah gave me a full up-do so that I could try on my vail and get a real picture. She was comforting, and genuine and truly made me feel so beautiful. She is amazing. Also, the Sentimentalist is so beautiful. The moment you walk in there is this vintage, zen and stunning vibe that hits you in the face. It's incredible and everyone that works there is amazing. I had a really great experience shopping for dresses here. My friends and I were greeted, given mimosas, and after a short consultation, started picking out dresses to try on. I knew going in that the dresses here tended to be more vintage and unique, which is not totally my style, but they had such great reviews I wanted to try anyways. I ended up liking the Leanne Marshall dresses--and she was actually there in the store! She was having a trunk show and flew in from NY to be there. It was pretty neat to be talking to the designer who made the dress you have on! They have a smaller selection, but like other reviewers have said, they are unique and probably won't find most of the dresses at your everyday store. The only downside for me was that most of the samples were on the smaller side--so not one dress I tried on really fit good. I still haven't found "the one", but since I like a more traditional dress I know am going to end up purchasing elsewhere. I can say without any doubt, The Sentimentalist was one of the highlights of the wedding planning/preparation process for me. This review is going to be all over the place because I just have so many good things to say about this boutique, it's hard to get all my praise organized! By the time I got to The Sentimentalist, I had been to a few other wedding dress boutiques in the Atlanta area and was honestly not enjoying the process much - I felt judged, exposed, and overwhelmed by the options and feeling "sold to" by the other boutiques. That all changed as soon as I had my first appointment with The Sentimentalist. Immediately walking in, the store feels welcoming, calming, and just a fun atmosphere. The dress selection is incredible (and unique vs. many other local boutiques). The attention the staff provides is SUPPORTIVE and positive, like you're shopping with a bestie. All bodies and body types are welcome and celebrated there - you'd think this would be commonplace, but it's honestly rare and such an underrated benefit of The Sentimentalist. The staff respects your privacy as well, which was a major breath of fresh air (vs. being accompanied into the dressing room, which is pretty jarring and uncomfortable for a private/reserved person like me). Their customer service was incredible from start to finish: I felt like everyone there was genuinely invested in me picking the best dress *for me* (not for the store), and was so helpful with all of my crazy questions and random concerns. Cailan was my "attendant" and did an amazing job of distilling down what I liked and didn't like, and even made suggestions to push my assumptions about certain things. The dress I wore for my wedding was actually a dress Cailan suggested I try! When I went back to pick up my dress (which was actually delivered early, and with zero hassle or follow-up required on my part), the team helped me pick out a veil and earrings as well! They were respectful of my budget, personal preferences, and treated my dress and me with the utmost care. Cute boutique with customer service that is with you every step of the way. They actually changed their location, so that is a little confusing but the girls there are very savvy and always there to help you. They are super patient, helpful, and accommodating. As stressful as wedding planning is, they will help you reduce it as much as possible. They don't make the dresses in house however, and alterations will cost extra on top of the dress price, but very worth it. Their products are beautiful and they have so many designers. Best wedding dress shopping experience, hands down. Hannah is a superstar! My fiancée and I have never been to a place with such lovely decor, caring staff, and wide selection of dresses and accessories. Sentimentalist is located on Howell Mill Road, a few minutes drive north of Georgia Tech in the same area as Monday Night Brewing and Urban Tree Cidery. Pretty hard to miss and tons of parking! When we first walked in, we were promptly greeted, seated, and offered beverages. The coffee was fantastic and we really appreciated the warm welcome. I especially appreciated that Hannah wasn't shocked by the fact that I (the fiancé) was coming along to pick dresses. Our session started with Hannah asking my fiancée about her vision for the wedding day. This felt super natural and easy, like a conversation between friends. She struck a great balance of asking questions, listening to my fiancée's thoughts, and sharing her own experiences with other brides. This really showed when we got to the trying phase! Picking and trying was also a great time for both of us! Hannah did a great job of working with my fiancée to pick dresses based on her preferences. All of the dresses she tried on were stunning! It really helped that Hannah is excellent at making the dresses fit. My fiancée is a bit petite (4'8") and often times has trouble fitting in sample dresses (usually built for 6'1" girls). Hannah worked magic with clips pins to make the dresses look great! I also had a great time during this process, the couches are comfy and the coffee is great. Hannah also did a great job of making me feel included in the process which I really appreciate! I loved being a Sentimentalist bride! I made an appointment at this bridal shop last July after during a girls weekend in Atlanta with my mom and sister. I loved the look of the shop and how kind and attentive everyone was, you definitely felt special unlike some of the department store bridal shops. The consultant was very easy to work with and helped me try on a variety of different options. I ended up leaving the store and coming back the next day because I couldn't stop thinking about a strapless gown I tried on. They were so nice when I returned and purchased the dress. If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. Though I did not end up buying my dress here, it was hands down the best dress appointment experience I had. The store is huge, beautiful, and has a wonderfully large selection. The people are also so kind and friendly, which surprisingly, cannot be said for all bridal boutiques. They brought us to our viewing area and immediately brought us water, tea, and coffee while we waited for our consultant. Our consultant, Rhiannon, was just incredible. She was so friendly and enthusiastic about finding me the perfect dress. I wasn't sure what kind of style of dress I wanted, so she walked through the entire store with me, pulling a variety of dresses to gauge what I wanted. She also was very respectful of my privacy in the dressing rooms, and was professional about the way she got me into and out of the dresses. You can tell she definitely had experience with this. She was also incredibly knowledgeable about the dresses and designers that they carry. She could pretty much tell me off the top of her head how much a dress cost, and what colors it came in, etc. When I wanted to see if the designer could change the neckline of a dress, she immediately texted (!!) her to find out. It was just incredible. Logistically, there is plenty of parking here, so there's nothing to worry about there. They also send you a questionnaire when you make your appointment to get an idea of what kind of style and budget you're looking at, and they are extremely respectful of that. Long overdue post. I scheduled an appointment with them all via email, and they responded very quickly. Not long after I scheduled an appointment, they had a sample sale event and canceling my scheduled appointment was seamless. We went there on a Sunday morning and they just opened and the line was already quite long. The shop was quaint and cute and had different sections for us to wait in. They even served donuts. Although, the selection wasn't that big, they had a lot of nice dresses on hand that was my style and I was able to find my dress. The experience would probably be more personal and not too rushed if it was on a regular scheduled appointment, however, the owner and my consultant were extremely nice and personable. This bridal boutique is not customer friendly. I had three sisters, my mom, and my future MIL with me, and they wouldn't allow more than 4 guests. Every other appointment we had that day allowed our 5, and with no mask requirement or any other Covid-related restrictions, this rule made no sense. When we walked in, they immediately made us feel bad for bringing a fifth person, but with all 5 of my guests being from out of town, there was nowhere to send a single person between appointments. I went to a few bridal stores in both Charleston and Atlanta before visiting The Sentimentalist, and I can say, hands down, the Sentimentalist was the best experience all around. The woman helping us was INCREDIBLE!! She was so knowledgeable. When Id try on a dress and say "Oh I like this part but want this to look different" she'd light up and say she knew just the dress. The boutique was so flexible with my larger bridal tribe & had drinks for us while we waited . They have so manyy personal touches that make anything you buy there feel personal. Beyond amazing service This is a more high end, boutique experience. The ladies are very up front about the price range they offered dresses in which I really appreciated. I was looking for more of a 'deal,' and they really put my needs first with zero pressure. They helped me find the perfect designer and a last minute top after months of searching. The advice was all spot on and they ended up saving me a ton of time and money while being super understanding. Love these ladies and honestly idolize all of them.
