We stopped here as part of our Harvest Host tour this weekend and had a nice stay. Nestled in the hills of Iowa the winery is a very quiet and beautiful place to sit on the patio and enjoy some wine. We were warmly greeted by staff when we got here, got the camper set up and came in for some food and a tasting. They have a nice menu of appetizers, salads, flatbreads and sandwiches. We got the 3 dip combo which was salsa, buffalo chicken and a southwestern bean dip. They were all really good. We both had a wine tasting of 4 wines and ended up getting a bottle of the Lazy Days Itasca. It was a crisp white wine that was refreshing while sitting outside on the patio. The menu does have a considerable amount of sweet wines but does have a few dryer wine. They also have wine slushes on the menu that we tried that were really good. read more

We've been here a couple times to enjoy a lunch at their grill, sample their wines and take home several bottles of our favorites. So, for the wine "purists" out there, remember, these are not necessarily like nice, earthy pinots, merlots or cabernets that you pour in a big glass and enjoy with dinner. More like light, sweeter pino grigios or rieslings. We drink them mostly like sweet dessert wines (think port) in small glasses after a meal or late in the evening. If you come at them from this perspective, you won't be disappointed as you might be if you went here looking for a conventional table wine. Great location, nice facilities, enjoyable wines and pretty good food. I had the Norwegian sandwich - VERY good. It's out past the Seed Savers, so if you are looking for something to do after visiting them - this may be just the ticket. Highly recommended. read more

Was visiting Decorah for the day and learned about the winery online before coming. Found a Groupon too, $15 wine tasting for 4, 4 glasses, and a wine tour! And let's be honest, I'm not ever going to turn down an opportunity to go to a winery! Called the day before to make our reservation for the groupon. When we pulled up, it seemed we were in the middle of no-where Iowa in someone's backyard. Well....you are. But five minutes after being there we were followed by probably 10 other cars strolling in! It quickly went from dead to a full parking lot. The grapes and fruit trees are on site. The tasting room is inside a beautiful barn with lovely decor, a kitchen, and several different seating options inside and out. There's several cutesy wine-related items for purchase as well. A normal wine flight (5) is $4, and I believe a glass of wine was $6.50, not bad. They have 21 different wines and two flavors of wine slushes available. Very interesting wines and flavors, full of unique combinations. I liked some, some I did not care for at all- but hey we all have different tastes! I give only 4 stars because the "tour" isn't really a tour. It's a family member (awesome family story by the way!) presenting a slideshow about the farms' and winery history, we didn't actually get to see any of the wine making area or property unfortunately. First, the drive to WW is lovely. The wines are quite good and they have some unique offerings, including Winnie's Wonka - which I purchased. (You had me at chocolate). I really recommend their chambourcin. But maybe the best thing was, instead of standing at a crowded tasting bar, they had you take a seat and served a flight. Really encouraged taking your time and enjoying. read more

The wine here is on the sweet side. But If you own a farm or need to buy a gift for a farmer all their names are named farm names so adorable. read more

I know, Wineries are becoming so common in Iowa that every time you turn around, up pops another one. This is one I would definitely make time to find. WWW is a little off the beaten path. Located six miles off of the main highway outside of Decorah, it was easy to find due to there signs. One friend commented that she didn't know if she would want to drive that far just to go to the winery, but she normally buys her Boones Farm at Wal-Mart. The Winery is located on the family farm of the very friendly people who run it. (should have grabbed a card so I could tell you their names - google it if you want to know). Very pretty farm with a great view. We parked underneath one of the huge Oak trees and went into the tasting room. The tasting room/hall is in a big pole building designed barn. Inside it has been finished off into several areas. The tasting and sales, plus an area for sitting if you order food. They have a light offering of items. They also have the back half designated as a reception area. Weddings, parties, you name it, it could be held there. Sampled the wines (you get five - but they sneaked me an extra cause they could tell I was a fan with a credit card). I won't bore you with each and every one and all of the fancy-smancy talk about it. I will tell you that all of the wines I sampled were delicious and were so cleverly named and the label artwork tickled my fancy. This is a family business. Mom and Dad, daughters, grand baby, they all seemed to have a hand in the work. I think that is amazing. Good luck and keep up the good work. We had such a nice time at this winery on a recent visit to Decorah. $4 for testing 5 kinds of wine/slush and very polite, friendly service. We sat out on the wonderful patio while we enjoyed our wine, and were even invited to go look at the grapes. That was interesting! We didn't eat, but took home several bottles of delicious wine - they have some interesting names to them too (Horny Heifer). The road was being worked on, so we had to take a detour to get there, but it was well worth it. Very nice place. read more

Wow! Did not know Iowa had wineries, was I wrong. A perfect setting in northeast part of the state. Some great wines to taste and had a great salad lunch. The staff was very knowledgeable and fun to talk with about home grown grapes and what wines they produce. My only complaint is I can't make it to Iowa more often. I recommend this winery to everyone. read more

We went here with a group of friends for their valentines supper as we have been doing for the last 8 years! The meal was very well prepared and tasted fantastic. I believe they have close to 25 different wines they make and it was easy to find a favorite. There were 3or 4 couples in our group that had never been to a winery before so Beth was gracious enough to give everyone a downstairs tour and explain the wine making process. We all had a great time and are planning our next visit already! read more
