The kids had a great time, staff was fantastic and the food is good. There is plenty to keep children occupied while waiting for a table, 12 TV screens in the dinning section (don't know how many in the bar seating half of the building), and plenty of sports and rock memorabilia. This location has a huge iguana that the kids loved. We were disappointed that we were too soon to get the Fat Tuesday Madi Gras selections from the menu because they sounded phenomenal! (Menu specials seem to be Thursday - Sunday. We were there on Valentine's Day and there weren't any specials other than the typical Tuesday night wing deal.) The whiskey list was impressive! read more

I always come here for their salads and wings!!! The Mesa Chop Chicken salad is my favorite. It's large and topped with grilled chicken breast and a great blend of veggies. Wing night is Tuesday! Discounted wings ! Also, the atmosphere is chill and welcoming . Food is fresh and beer selection is pretty decent (so my friend's and the menu tell me ) . Check it out during lunch or dinner . You won't be sorry. read more

Winking Lizard Tavern - Restaurant front - American Near Me - Macedonia, Ohio

The Winking Lizard is a great restaurant in Peninsula which is an amazing area. The area is great for hiking, biking, kayaking, and enjoying the outdoors. The Lizard is one of 2 real restaurants in the area and it's always crowded. They are a great bar/restaurant with lots of beer on tap and a solid menu. It's nice to try seasonal offerings-today was the clam bake. Their food is good, it's not world class but that's not what you would expect. It's good food at a good price at a great place for meeting friends. I've been here countless times and will absolutely return! read more

We liked this place. It was loud and the wait for our table was over 45 minutes, but we had decent service once we were seated. Their drink menu is was huge! Food is was typical pub type food. If we lived in the area we would visit again. read more

What is there to say about Winking Lizard other than that it's practically a Cleveland staple. The Macedonia location seems to always be busy -- we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table on a Monday afternoon around 1:30. The food is almost always consistent, as it should be with any multi-location restaurant. I have to say, I'm a little sad to see they took the Chinese Chicken Salad & the Chinese chicken wrap off of the menu when they did the re-design. Some of my favorites to order are: western burger, any of the bo-man sandwiches (I mean, who doesn't love garlic bread!?!), buffalo chicken wrap and the staple ... the wings. They're baked in a rotisserie style oven before being flash fried and sauced. So delicious! You can't go wrong on any sauce, but some of my houses favorites are spicy sesame, goldfinger, and spicy garlic. Chances are, there's a Winking Lizard within 10-15 minutes of anywhere you are in Cleveland. I suggest you give em a try! read more

Winking Lizard Tavern - Seasonal quesadilla burger topped with a beer cheese bacon wrapped jalapeño - American Near Me - Macedonia, Ohio

Good food at a fair price. I tend to stick with southwest grilled chicken salad with the yummiest salad dressing ever.

Big fan - the food is good great wings and Bourbon selection. BUT Be careful about customer service big corporate mentality. purchased 50 wings on the group deal for like $60 I wanted 2 different flavors - The young lady said all good and went to pick them up - $90. I asked the manager about it he said " take it or leave it" Not going to be rude, we all work hard just be careful when you order online or by phone. I like going here too so it stung even more. Thanks read more

We haven't been here for over 10 years. The reason is. We loved out of state. I always enjoyed it before so we had to try it again. Memory is a funny thing, so rather than trust what I thought it was, here's my impression of this last visit. The food was good. Nothing super memorable in either direction. It came hot and the service was fairly quick. I feel this is a "safe choice" when you want to grab a sandwich or wings. The salad looked good, she said it was fine...again, safe. I'll probably go back again but I have lots of other old favorites I need to reconnect with first. read more

Food is usually okay but can be disappointing depending on the night. Service in the outside bar can be really terrible so sit inside if that's important to you. My service inside the dinning room has always been good enough. The hostesses can get a little grumpy and overwhelmed on the weekends especially. I've been many times and I still go back now and then. It's Macedonia , there are not many options. ( shrug ) stick to burgers, French fries and salads , you'll be fine. read more

Good food, plenty of seating, fast and pleasant service. This applies to Peninsula, Independence and downtown Cleveland, the three locations that I frequent. read more

Great food, excellent beer selection! Very comfortable dining and patios are top notch!

We've been frequenting this location for quite sometime for takeout. This isn't the first disappointing meal we've had. Ordered the meatloaf dinner. It was burnt. The green beans were actually rotten. They had rotted holes in them, the rest were shriveled up. For what they charge for this garbage they should be ashamed. read more

Great selection of beers. Rueben Barrels was an appetizer for the day and they were delicious. We had a Bo-Man Buffalo chicken sandwich and a fried fish dinner. The sandwich was great and the fish tasted good, but the fish was a little thin to my liking. Staff were friendly and attentive for a Saturday Afternoon. We will go back to try more food options. read more

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DESTINY! My oldest turned 15 this year and where did she want to go to eat? Winking Lizard, that is where. Not just because they have a Lizard who winks....but because they just plain rock! Free popcorn, a huge Lizard and fantastic service are just a few of the things this place boasts. My kids and I come regularly to WL for their wing special night. That's right yo...I love me some chicky wings on the cheap! Not to mention, my youngest can get pizza on those nights too.....everyone is happy! WIN WIN! We had never been to this location despite living not too far. Parking is plentiful (front an rear lots) and their patio looks to be beautiful! I cannot comment on how nice it is only because it is winter....and anyone who knows Ohio, can completely sympathize! We ordered 30 of their traditional wings, lots of ranch and some celery. Here are a breakdowns of wing flavors: 1) Chipotle Chili: This sauce is by far my favorite. I wouldn't rate it high on the spice....and I love spice. I am a spicey guy myself! But, the flavor profile is fantastic. Garlic, onion, chipotle pepper and a little heat. Really, it is fantastic! 2) Teriyaki: Just your run of the mill sauce. Nothing special but very good. A little more on the sweet side than salty. 3) BBQ: We got the plain BBQ this time and I was VERY happy with it. Smoky, sweet and tangy. Really a good blend. My youngest got a cheese pizza and as always, says it is some of the best. She loves the sauce and the crust. It is a winner for her. One of the things I love about this location are the skee ball tables! I wish ALL their locations had these babies. Sweet mother of monkey milk man, this brought me back to the good ole days. I loved seeing my kiddos and parents playing a game I grew up with. iPad, eat out dust! Some things cannot be replicated on a screen. The bathrooms were super clean and so was the rest of the restaurant. We will be back to this location post haste! For my birthday actually! Look for my check in ;) read more

Winking Lizard is a standard for our family. Four stars for the draft beer selection, but just want to make sure all know that the food is pretty typical sport bar fare. I do appreciate that you can sub fries for grilled veggies, rice pilaf, steamed broccoli, Mac n cheese at no extra cost. My boys always enjoy visiting the lizard and they are sports fans, so the numerous tv's ensure something of interest will be on. Today's beer selection was the November handle - sample of Revolution Fistmas, Founders Breakfast Stout, N'Ice Chouffe and Sierra Nevada Celebration. Great group! read more

I'd give 4.5 stars if I could only reason I would dock .5 is because it's not busy but still took 30min for my food. However, it was worth the wait. Probably understaffed like so many restaurants right now. I'm shocked this place only has 3.5 stars. I had the Cajun Chicken Wrap, with extra southwest ranch in the side, and it was on point!! read more

Found on Yelp. Nothing in the area had rave reviews, so it was hit or miss. Well the place wasn't overly busy. Was seated fairly quick. Drinks were taken and arrived In a timely manner. Ordered dinner and the other two meals were good.. I got the special. T-bone steak, ordered medium. Came out rare.. and was chewy... ate the sides and good thing there was an appetizer.. they had the lizard lips and they were good along with the little burger sliders.. read more

We dined here November 7, 2023. The food was atrocious. I had a chicken Parmesan sandwich. The chicken was rubbery and appeared to break apart in layers in your mouth after taking a bite, almost like the chicken was pounded together to make the chicken breast. My wife's fries were cold. We had an appetizer of fried pickles and the breading was so thick you didn't taste any pickle. We used to love this place although we have not been here in a very long time due to the pandemic. We will not be coming back. read more

My co-worker picked this place, probably because he's a bit of a bro and he has kids. Both categories are well accommodated here for sure. There are big TV's for sports ball viewing. There are wings and onion rings without limit. Beers are served in some of the largest glasses I've seen outside of traditional German Oktoberfest celebrations. For the kids, there are arcade type games that eat endless quarters and deliver "prizes". Chicken fingers and pizza are readily available. There is an actual live lizard as well (named Pickles!) so the Winking Lizard delivers what it promises in the reptilian department. I had a turkey melt. It was fine. You can get broccoli instead of fries, and our server was nice. Totally a-ok. read more

This was really fun! Our daughter had recommended the Winking Lizard and we were not disappointed. Our meals were delicious and the the selection of beers was amazing. We hope to go back. read more

Rude staff. Mediocre food. Sketchy cleanliness. Overpriced for what you get. A terrible dining experience. Definitely not recommended.

Went to lunch with my son and grandkids today (8/30/2023). Sat down and had to wait 10 minutes just to order drinks. The server was walking away and I informed them we were ready to order. After 40 minutes our meals still weren't served and neither was the glass of water I ordered. Finally the food arrived and I asked that person for water. Nothing. I finally asked a different server who promptly brought it. (He understood customer service where the others didn't. When the food did come my fries were luke warm and the boneless wings were just warm... My granddaughters nachos looked like the had been sitting out awhile as well based on the cheese starting to harden... I would have said something to the server had they come bac - which they didn't. We ate and during the entire time no server to be found. I finally had to wave him down to get the check. By the time we left we had spent well over an hour for lunch in a restaurant that was maybe 25% filled. To say the least we will not be going back. There are too many food options to put up with this type of service. read more

Love this place! Never disappointed in the food or drinks. Sure, the wait can be long at times but it's all worth when you get your boneless wings and beer. Always come back! read more

My first visit to one of these chains. This is not bad. Many beers, and a beer club (2010 drink club member #something checking in). I had the pizza personal size sausage and mushroom. Above average. The staff was very friendly. One complaint. Why do only pints count toward the beer club? If I want to drink 100 beers one tall boy at a time, that's my business. Come on all we are both doing is moving product here. Ah the wings are also good. read more

Sports bar atmosphere. Excellent wings. Hot were very good. Sweet and sour had a nice touch of heat and flavor. Excellent place for wings and craft brews. What a horrible experience and even worse customer service. My entire family (6 of us) were there on Monday and became ill immediately after leaving. We called Tuesday to let them know. The manager Freddy said they would look into it and provide a refund or gift cards. No call. We called back today and spoke to Jeffery. He was the most unprofessional person I have dealt with in the service industry. He said it was up to us to call the health department. It is our prerogative to do what we want. Well Winking Lizard and Jeffery you just lost our business, which is at least $1500 a year. read more

I wasn't pleasantly pleased with this location. It took the server 10-15 minutes to come over and welcome us and ask if we wanted something to drink. I had to flag a person down. My pizza came out undone, my sister enjoyed this her meal, cheese steak and fries. I can do without this place. I give this place a thumbs down. read more

Passing thru Macedonia Oh on a Thursday evening and yelped a bar. This place was about the only one close by. Very pleased. Great list of taps and bottles on hand too many to count. Over 100! Very eclectic and diverse menu with vegetarian and gluten free options. Gluten free beer too! But I eat meat and drink real beer. Lots of tvs with game on. Lil loud but to be expected at a sports bar. Friendly staff and quick service. Definitely will stop in again when passing through! read more

The Lizard is my family's go to restaurant/bar. They have a big selection of draft beers and over 50 bottled beers available on their tour list. The bar area has plenty of TVs and they have a great outdoor area. Perfect for game days. The food is nothing fancy, but always delicious. You can't go wrong with their wings. They also have wing night on Tuesday. My go to menu item is the Buffalo chicken wrap. It has just the right amount of kick to it. There is also a seasonal menu they offer every month or so that has some excellent dishes on it. My favorite seasonal dishes are the Buffalo chicken dip (surprise) and the Thai peanut chicken salad. Overall if you're looking to hang with family and friends, knock some beers back, watch a game or have some decent American bar food the Lizard is your place. read more

Food is great, ambience is great, service is sometimes rough with long waits for beer and food and no refills on drinks. Recently waiter greeted us by saying he didn't know what time of day it is and then took 20 minutes to get our beer. Finished meal 1.5 hours after arriving. read more

I'm so disappointed. Went to the Winking Lizard in Macedonia this evening for fish. Had the dinner last year at the Lizard in Peninsula, it was great. Fish came out over cooked. Sent it back for new fish. When it came out for the second time it was hotter, but over cooked again. Reminded me of jerky. Started feeling nauseous on the short drive home. Didn't stop there. Vomited at home. I'm not planning on visiting them in the near future. There food and has really gone down hill. On the other side the waitress was great. Tried to do what she could. read more
