We stopped in late with the family after a long day, hoping for something fun and easy. I hadn't been here in several years, and the food was pretty much the same: consistent, but nothing that really stands out. We came in close to closing and had a table full of kids, which probably didn't help the overall experience. The service felt rushed and a bit short, though I get that it was late and everyone was likely ready to wrap up the night. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, just not one that made us want to linger. If we come back, it'll likely be earlier in the evening and just with adults. We eat here a lot, and usually get their ribs. They are hit or miss. Sometimes, they are dry and awful, and have to order something else. Most of the time, they are fall off the bone tender, and amazing! This last visit, we went on Saturday around 4:30. We ordered a couple appetizers that we hadn't ordered before, the nachos, and mac-n-cheese wedges. The nachos were just so-so. I wouldn't order them again. For $10, it was very underwhelming. Basically just some cheese and pico de gallo, and a few jalapenos, that's it. They bring a very small plastic cup of sour cream, and another very small cup of salsa to use with them, but when you have 4 people digging in, you need 4 cups of each. They had an option for chicken on them, but we chose not to have that. There was no option for ground beef, but did expect it to be on there, and we were surprised there was no meat at all. Do it was greatly lacking. Never seen a place not have seasoned beef on their nachos. 3 of us ordered the special Birria tacos, and we would all rate them a 1. The first couple of bites were ok, but after that it was way too salty!!! Especially when dipped in the consomme! It was like it was concentrated, and they forgot to add water to it. When the waiter had asked us about it, we had just started eating, and we were all ok. If he had asked again, we would chimed in how salty it was. 2 of us had to go to the restroom twice before we left, because we were having issues, and the 3rd was feeling gross, and had issues later at home, as did another. The 4th person stuck with their usual meal of barbecue chicken, mac-n-cheese and fries, and it was awesome as it always is. So he was happy. Oh, also, we learned last time to never get their "teriyaki" sauce. We had it as a side sauce for our ribs. We always ask for no sauce directly on the ribs, and get a side of bourbon barrel sauce to dip them in, and it's always amazing That time, we decided to try something different and get a side of hot honey peach, which is super good, and even better when mixed with bourbon barrel! However, the teriyaki wasn't good at all. In fact, it didn't taste anything like teriyaki, and didn't even match their own description of it. It was even brown, it was red! We asked for another side of it just to see if they'd bring out an actual teriyaki, thinking they brought us the wrong sauce, but nope, they brought out the same red sauce that was vinegar based, and had no hint of sweetness, orange, garlic, ginger, pineapple, nothing like that. It reminded us of an Asian sauce that had a little kick to it. We told our waitress that it didn't taste anything like teriyaki and certainly didn't look like teriyaki. She said it's different but is her favorite sauce they have. ‍We will have to go to a different location and see if they actually have a true teriyaki sauce that matches their description on their own menu, cause the Fulton Rd location doesn't appear to have it. This was our first time trying the Winking Lizard. It's only a 5 minute drive and every time we've passed this place it is Always packed. We arrived around 8:00 PM on a Friday night and was immediately taken to a booth. The service was on point despite the Coke that arrived looking like Ice Tea; which we sent back. The beer battered onion rings were just okay as the onion was saturated inside and had no crunch. The Cajun Wings had some kick, however I wasn't impressed with the flavor profile. The Pizza was an epic fail and I would never order this over sauced Pizza again. The middle of the Pizza dough was raw. When I asked what they were known for, we were told Pizza and Wings. I guess they missed their target on both. At least we can say that we finally tried it, but won't be recommending. As far as their consistency with a full parking lot: It can't be on the food quality and probably based on affordability from booze to food. read more

Have visited so many times my favorite menu item is the rib meal full rack with two sides I choose fries and baked beans, the baked beans are the best hands down also the winking lizard bbq sauce is the best I've tasted outside of a grocery store offering by the bottle original or spicy and yummmmooooo. Free popcorn while u wait which my husband likes to dip in the bbq sauce also lmao. It's that good. Tried the wings once but my go to is the ribs special on Wednesday night and they also have seasonal specials. They had a beer cheese dip with pita chips that was chefs kiss but seasonal. We frequently come here but on today's visit while waiting for our table (45min) we watched 6 tables finish and leave one table sat empty for 30min with no one being seated. We added that we would sit on the patio because we saw numerous empty tables. Still waited 40 minutes for a table even being able to see more than a dozen empty tables. 4 hostesses standing at the front desk who could have helped out with busing tables. The table that we saw sit empty for over 30 minutes was still empty when we were seated on the patio. If you're short staffed tell your customers be honest it's better than ignoring them. None of us had been here before so this was new to all of us. We were seated in a room with TVs around us. We didn't need them but I am sure for people who enjoy sports that would be a bonus. So much to choose from, and they do have daily specials. We ordered: patty melt with onion rings 3.5 stars Haddock sandwich with fries 3.5 stars Crispy chicken sandwich with sautéed onions and mushrooms. 3.5 stars Patty Melt very greasy and fish sandwich was boring. Been a regular here since you first opened in the original building in the late 80s; I've probably spent countless thousands of dollars here over the years for my family and kids, after so many ball games and other family milestones, plus have a wardrobe closet full of tour coats. But whatever happened this spring which caused you to fire the quality bartenders has caused irreparable damage. The replacements can't get anything right, EVER!!! And I keep trying to give them another chance, but it's STILL NEVER right. The new gal in the bar is ANYTHING but interested in serving her customers - she's one of the most unprofessional and outright LAZY bartenders I've ever experienced, and that sadly is saying A LOT, as I've obviously been hanging around too many bars over the years. Tonight, I asked for grilled wings. What I got were completely TORCHED wings, only to realize they grilled them AFTER saucing them. Brilliant... thought I busted a tooth and tasted none of the crystallized sauce... I'm finally done. You've lost one of your biggest cheerleaders and I'm taking my business to Fat Heads to see Jimmy. We came for an afternoon cocktail and skeeball, and stayed for a bite to eat; fun time. The beer selection is fantastic. The old fashioned was delicious! As were the pretzel rods and mustard. The cheese dip was ok. My boneless wings were wonderfully crisp and saucy (w/ a bourbon siracha). The celery was super fresh and crunchy, which I appreciate. Stopped in here with a buddy on a guys weekend trip to see the pro football hall of fame and a Cleveland browns football game. Place was pretty spacious with cool Decor. In the lobby Entrance area they have a giant lizard so that's pretty cool. Menu was pretty standard for a sports bar. Prices were really good. They had a 1lb t bone with two sides and breadsticks special for 12.99. Me and my buddy was all over that. Food came super fast and we received pretty good service as well. My buddy for two ipa and the waitress helped him choose some local favorites. The steak was pretty good. Very juicy and flavorful on the edges but mildly tough in the center. But overall pretty good. My sides were baked beans and wild rice. Baked beans were tasty and the wild rice had some solid flavor as well. All in all cool place. Good we checked It out. Had a terrible interaction with their closing manager on the night of September 20, 2024. A loved one had lost their phone and hadn't realized until we were very far away. We called and she basically rushed us off the phone. The second time I called (once we finally were able to confirm that said missing phone was inside or very close to the front door of the building via location sharing) she got really nasty with us. Kept getting sarcastic saying things such as "This is totally what I want to be doing right now" and "This really isn't my job". I was nothing but kind to her on the phone. Kept thanking her for checking at first and apologizing for the inconvenience multiple times. I am never one to get upset with a service worker, as I also work in the service industry and understand the BS we have to deal with on a daily basis, but I have NEVER spoken to a customer the way she spoke to me. I had to hand the phone off to someone else because she was being so rude and I couldn't handle it in the high stress situation. We were finally able to get back to the location after 1 am and luckily found it by the front door of the location. I know, I know, it isn't her job to keep track of our things. We get that, it was just the way we were spoken to and treated when we were being nothing but nice to her during the phone call until she started to be rude and insulting. ALSO let me just add that we weren't asking her to search for the phone until it was found. Because of the kind of phone it was (not an iPhone), we were able to play a sound no matter how far away we were. All we wanted to know was if she heard the sound. Then we would know whether it was inside the store or outside. If it was inside, great! We would come make the trip the following day and everyone's mind would be at ease for the night. If she heard it outside or anything similar to that we would have said thank you and we would come search the parking lot and she could go on her merry way. We never wanted HER or any other team member to actually physically search the parking lot, just poke an ear out and let us know if she heard a little jingle. She just kept saying that she wasn't doing that because it wasn't her problem to solve. We didn't need you to fully solve our problem, it's our problem, we just wanted some grace. I will say that our server while we were actually eating at the restaurant was so nice, but someone needs to tell this girl how a manager is actually supposed to speak to a customer. This experience really put a bad taste in our mouth and we will never be returning. read more

I have eaten at The Winking Lizard at many locations in Ohio. They have never been one of the greatest wing joints - but decent. Well, not any more ... at least not in Canton or North Canton. For the last year we have eaten at both locations and I have given up on trying to get a decent boneless wing. They are ALWAYS, ALWAYS cold and over cooked. Tonight we were at the Fulton location early - before 5:00 - our order came out quickly, but again - overcooked and cold wings. How? It wasn't busy yet? I think they often cook them ahead and they then dry out under the lights where they stay barely warm - it crazy with prices being as they are!! Huge fan of this place. Their menu is large and almost feels like a book. Whether it be burgers, wings, steak, or chicken you'll be sure to find it here. Good place to bring a group with different tastes as everybody will be able to find something. The beer selection is also quite nice with some hard to find craft beer options. The monthly tasting paddle is a pretty good deal and a nice way to sample four different beers. The only reason for the 4 star instead of the 5 is that the service can be slow at times. We have waited 45 min to an hour before for our dinner after being seated, so I'd recommend going during the slower hours if possible to avoid the rush. I've been here several times and each time is better than the last. This might be my favorite place to come with my kids. Their kids menu is awesome and has something for every eater. Their menu has pizzas, salads, sandwiches, wraps, entrees, and awesome appetizers. If you can't find something to eat here, you've got bigger issues lol. I want to start this off by saying it's ridiculous that Winking Lizard company prides themselves as a "family friendly environment" when this is how they treat families. I arrive at 6pm with my Sister in Law who is underage. When I speak to the hostess, she immediately gets defensive and very rudely asks "are you 21?" I said yes I am and pulled out my ID. She said "well what about her" and scoffed and pointed at my sister in law. I politely said no but I am. She said "well she need to be accompanied by a parent". I informed her I was married and over 21 and she got nasty with me and said well I'm not her parent. I have never in my life been treated like this at a restaurant before and Winking Lizard should be ashamed to call themselves a family friendly establishment. To not allowed in the restaurant at all because of 1 minor is ridiculous. I understand the hostess has to enforce the restaurant rules but she was immediately defensive and nasty instead of speaking with candor and being polite. I could understand minor rules and hours after 7pm for Fri-Sun from a business perspective but no chicken wings on Monday for a 17 year old who's being monitored by an adult over 21 after 5pm is laughable. I understand why I never hear anyone having a good experience with WL anymore. Winking Lizard should take down "family friendly" off of their website because clearly they are not. What kid with parents after school and work can make it before 5pm for dinner? Just rebrand as an adults only atmosphere if that's what you want. read more

My husband and I came out for date night. We live in Akron and planned on dinner and then hopping over to Fiddlestix to play some pool. We decided to splurge and ordered a few different items to split for date night. Our food was amazing and our waitress Savannah was really sweet. We ordered a white pizza with chicken and they accidentally made a red sauce pizza. We didn't mind and were happy with what they brought anyways , but they had already started on the correct one and said it would be out shortly without us even asking. The manager exceeded our expectations and experience by comping both pizzas for us and coming over to personally apologize. Had not been here for the longest time and the son wanted to take me out for Mothers Day, well actually the day before. We decided on a late lunch to try to avoid most of the lizards. We have been to several Winking Lizard pubs over the years while visiting Ohio. This one is played out the same. We stopped in on a Tuesday at noon and traffic was light. Service was fast. Food here can be hit or miss but overall good. Wife ordered grilled cheese and liked it. I got a 1/2 order of ribs that were great. Coleslaw has too much sauce for my liking and very tart. Less would have been fine. BBQ beans to sweet for me as well. But again ribs better than average. Next time I'll get the large size Fry's. Was a little disappointed that with all the beers they offer here there weren't and pale Ales or more importantly " session" IPAs. When the temperature gos up it's hard to drink 7.0+ abv IPAs. But I'm a glutton for punishment so next time I'm in town I'll be back. read more

Just go for beer! We stopped for a burger after about 2 years since our last visit. So disappointed! This place used to a great stop for a burger or wings. Large Resturant and bar sections! The back right side has a large two rooms of restaurant past the live display of the Lizard watching TV! The walk-in-the-door section is very large and includes the bar section! The back section has room for very large groups or small groups! The wait staff are usually enough to handle a full house or small crowds! They are fast friendly and watchful for anything you may need! Menu is large with a wonderful selections of foods to order with reasonably priced items! They have a wide variety of drinks to choose from too! Meals were excellent and prepared to be good and filling! There were TVs in every section! Restrooms were large, clean, and well supplied. Parking is their own private parking! I forgot to take pictures or check in. I will be sure to do that next time! We were with a large group of Soccer board families! We highly recommend this place the groups makes it their annual party for the soccer board! The restaurant is good for kids with some arcade games and foods! read more

Other times I had been here with a large group(30+) of soccer friends and had not been well pleased with my selection of food. They are known for their wide selection of beers, but I don't drink it! I had tea. First thing listed on the menu was a beer battered haddock sandwich and I just could not get past it. It comes with fries but other items can be substituted, I chose steamed broccoli. The sandwich was on a hoagie bun and the fish extended well beyond it with tartar sauce on the side. It was terrific! I could only eat half of it, but when I gently reheated it several hours later, I was quite surprised how good it still was! My hubby had an order of boneless wings which he finished with no problem. Ive been a patron of the various Winking Lizards for nearly 20 years and what was a nice, easy going sports bar/restaurant/neighborhood eatery has morphed into a crowded, nondescript and overpriced watering hole. Being a former World Beer Tour finisher, I was hoping to see some form of a rotation with their beer list (which has not happened). At the very least, I hoped they would purchase enough of their monthly bottle specials to last the first week of the month (also a no go). In addition, the constant inconsistency with food coupled with a generally incompetent management staff make me second guess any visit to this location. Ive had a great time at the Lizardville's, so perhaps the issue rests solely with this location. How difficult is it to make a pizza that is not burnt/undercooked? The only things going this for this place is the free popcorn, a massive (but overpriced) beer list and a fairly friendly wait staff. Once the area residents realize there are far better options for a bar/grille in the surrounding area and stop patronizing this restaurant, maybe then will this location make some kind of effort to produce a quality product. read more

So first off, I have been here twice recently, and I have been disappointed both times. The waitresses and waiters were all very friendly and the environment is great. Although I cannot say the same about the food here. I ordered the turkey wrap the first time I went and it was just about mediocre. The turkey overpowered everything else and it was dry with not much to it. The fries are pretty good on the other hand. They have some of my favorite fries. The second time I went I ordered a Ruben sandwich. It wasn't that good either. It was burnt, the corned beef didn't taste like normal corned beef, and the kraut wasn't good, but wasn't terrible.
