Why wax when you can thread? This review is long overdue. I've been coming here for years and service is always efficient. 1) Staff is always courteous and friendly 2) Wait time for me is always less than 5 minutes (just bring yo iphone to keep you busy). I try to go during the not to busy time though. 3) Finally, I get the whole face threaded. And I can't be happier with results. Everyone asks me if it hurts... The owner is nice and very professional. The place is awesome and chic. Also, the chairs lean back so you are comfortable. Nice touch. I really love what you have done to the place. THE FIVE STAR EXPERIENCE: My technician was very thorough. She did not get mad when I asked if she could do some touch ups that she accidentally skipped over. She did not blame my imperfections on me because my eyebrows smooth over a certain way. She did not rush the service like other salons are known for; I felt pampered even. My eyebrows have been an "issue" since I came out of the womb. Dark, thick, and unruly as hell. I'd like to say they are even Peter Gallagher-esque if you will. I lived in Plano for years where I had easy access to many an eyebrow threader but when I moved to Uptown I had to resort to waxing. THIS DID NOT BODE WELL. Every other week my friends were subjected to an expletive laden phone call about how some "broad totally f-ed up my eyebrows." They were always uneven, unclean, and sometimes I would get burned. Literally and emotionally. So when Wink opened up, it was a GOD SEND. I could walk and get my eyebrows threaded like a good brown girl is supposed to. $12 gets you an awesome thread job. The place is clean and everyone that works there is ridiculously nice. For those scuuured to try threading because it hurts. Um, yeah it does. I have thick, coarse brows and I personally think it's up there with birthing. I of course, have never had a bebe but I'd like to think it would sting less. However, at Wink they will make you as comfortable as possible and get you out in a jiffy so if you can endure waxing or tweezing, you are gonna be fine. Its well worth the money, I went in on and was immediately placed in a chair. Dora, quickly went to work on my tortured brows(was royally jacked from the $4 get in and out Richardson spot),I just closed my eyes and she went to work...carefully...(no rush bc there are people waiting and the owner is too busy carrying on a personal conversation with the techs..ugghh..anyways..). When she handed me the mirror I was in sheer amazement, she not fixed that debauchery but it was in and out in 5 min. Oh this is definitely my eyebrow joint from now and infinity. and they charge you $12 not $5(even though the service is $4) and you can place a tip on it. the parking sucks but thats the only drawback. otherwise...LOVE IT! read more

I give this place 4 stars. Most every time I have come in here I had a great experience. Short wait times, quick service and a good price. I have to take off a star because my first time I came in for threading, I was not won over by this place. I told the lady that it was my first time I was going to get my brows threaded, and I was pretty scared. She didn't do much to explain anything or make it better, but that's not the biggest problem. While I was getting my brows done, the health inspector came in, and the girl doing my brows, did not have a license to thread my brows!!!! The girl did a good job, but for my first time that was probably the worst thing I could have heard. I didn't come back for a while. I trust them to do my brows now. I went for the first time around a month ago... It was my first time doing it and I was bold enough to get the "full face" threating... Big mistake! The girl who attended me was beautiful and nice and I feel like she really did a good job, my eyebrows were perfectly done and my face looked so clean when I left... Why only 3 starts? 2 days after I did it I broke out horrible that I could not even go to work, I was swollen and it was super painful... No sure if I'm allergic to the lotion she applied after the procedure or what happened but I just know that my face was so irritated that looked bad for more than a week... I never broke out and my front head, cheeks and all my face was affected since I got the full face... I kinda want to try again cause I have been wondering is that happened since it was my first time... I don't know! I may try later... read more

I usually get my brows waxed but I decided to try threading since I can't find anyone in Dallas to completely satisfy me with waxing. I didn't have an appointment and they took me right away on a Tuesday. The lady was very friendly and fast. I was a bit nervous and she was very nice. She did a good job. She made sure to show me my brows and ask if I liked them. My brows still don't look like the they use to before I moved here but for the most part I am happy with my brows so I will definitely go back. read more

My third trip, and its time to review. I totally LOVE Wink. I have never had to wait more than 5(@ MOST) min to get seated, the ladies are so thorough and zip through your bushiness in 5 minutes. And you'd think that'd mean you're gettin a shoddy job, but nope! They are more accurate than waxing, hands down and HALF the price! I've had Zia twice...she's awesome, skilled n very personable. What a find! I ran in without an appointment to get my eyebrows done before I headed out of town for a wedding. They were fast, professional, and SO nice. The results are so much better than waxing and it hurts a lot less! Apparently the last eyebrow wax I got left my brows slightly uneven, but my lady fixed them as much as possible and told me to come back in 2 weeks for another shaping and they would be as good as new! The decor is beautiful, clean, and modern. The price is right, and the owner seems to have a good business head on his shoulders. This place is average, and just alright. For $15 (plus additional for tip) it's kind of expensive for eyebrow threading. I guess it's uptown so it's kind of normal, but still a little pricey to me. They did an alright job, but I compare it to a place I went to in okc and it's not as good. You get in and out when it's not during peak hours so that's the good part about it. Overall, if I needed an eyebrow wax ASAP, I would go back, but for now, still looking for THE eyebrow threading place. read more

Wink is good, clean and affordable. Waxing is tough on the delicate skin around your eyes and often very expensive. Threading is a much more delicate, affordable option and I find the results last longer. The staff at Wink are very nice as is the owner and her husband, I've enjoyed my multiple experiences there and am thrilled to have a threading salon in the uptown area. read more

This is the only place I've ever been to since I've moved to Dallas and I've never been disappointed, literally not once.

I love wink! Its location is in the West Village Gables next to the Pinkberry and Edohana Sushi. I have to admit that threading is more painful than waxing, but the results are more symmetrical and arched eyebrows than regular waxing. Plus, the hair grows back finer and your pain tolerance will go up each time. My favorite thing about Wink is they use antibacterial thread! I noticed that I did not turn as red after and my skin did not get irritated or break out the next day unlike other threading places. The staff is super friend and since it was my first time, they even did my upper lips for free! What more could you ask for? read more

The three stars are base solely off the cleanliness of the establishment and prompt friendly service provided. I could've just as easily tweezed my brows myself at home for a lot less than $13. Unfortunately I do not recommend this location at all. And yes, I did notify my technician that I was unhappy with my services received and she attempted to correct them. I am a ULTRA picky on my threading, so since I recently moved to Dallas, I haven't found a place that does perfect threading. I stumbled upon this place one Sunday afternoon walking down Blackburn (to walk off the big yogurt cup that I had at Yogilicious), but it was closed. So I decided to stop by during the week to check it out. I always do my eyebrows & am EXTREMELY picky. So I walked in talked to the owner & he recommended one of the ladies there. She did a great job in shaping & trimming my eyebrows (mind you I religiously do my eyebrows every 5 weeks). I highly recommend this place as it is quick, very precise & well priced!!! Great threading salon! Found this gem a few years ago via Groupon. I purchased the max allowed (5 for $5/each). I'd never had it done before BUT it had to be better then the so-called wax I received that dang near ripped my whole brow off (that's a completely different review!!) The salon is super quaint, clear, modern, and friendly staff always greet upon entry. The only time I've had to wait is the weekend. Every other time it's in and out for $12 + tip. The "threaders" are very courteous and pay close attention to details. It's quick and mildly painful (I'm also a big wuss!). I generally ask for them to make my brows thinner and more arch. They always do a great job. Great value for services. I usually stop in every 6-8 weeks (maintenance on my own). The parking is hit or miss -- welcome to uptown/west village but well worth it! read more

I found this place on yelp...said a prayer and walked in (because we all know messed up eyebrows can have you stuck in the house for two weeks lol!!!) well I was lucky today. I have been doing eyebrow threading for many years. I think it creates a symmetrical and long lasting look to my brows. However, I haven't had much luck here. I like the convenience of the location, the cleanliness and the staff, but my brows always seem a little off. I will continue to go here, but they are not the best. I first went to Wink with a groupon. I walked in, was in the chair in 5 minutes, and was out the door just a few minutes later. Came here because my normal place was closed. Did the job done for a family vacation I was going on the next day and ran out of time running errands. Overall they did good I just needed a clean up. The place itself wasn't super appealing but the service is what matters most. Wouldn't want them to complete shape my eyebrows and they didn't have cooling gel but it got to me what I needed when in a pinch. I absolutely loved getting my eyebrows threaded back home in Florida, but I've had a hard time finding any good threading salons in Dallas. So I've been paying an obscene amount of money to get them waxed, and I don't even like it. Enter Wink, a new salon on Blackburn. Its "hole in the wall" -esque as in its tiny and you can overlook it easily but when you walk in its clean, sleek, and up-beet. The receptionist is super friendly and accommodating. The staff is sweet and listens to what you want. I've had some issues in the past with threading, because sometimes they can make your brows too thin. But the staff at Wink did a great job the last two times I've been. I will definitely go to Wink from now on. read more

Best place to get awesome brows. Its quick and pain free. The people are lovely.. I especially like the woman on the left chair. I am kind of OCD about my eyebrows and she totally understood what I wanted and left them looking clean but natural. Highly recommended. Parking in the west village sucks but this place is alright.
