During my undergrad in Waterloo, WingsUp! Was my go to for takeout wings or chicken. I was super excited when I saw that there was a location in Mississauga close to my parents home. I knew I just had to go. The main thing I get here is the boneless wings with honey garlic sauce. I love the crunchiness and savoury flavour of the sauce together. The fries are sort of like wedges, but more crunchy than soft. Very delicious in my opinion. I'd recommend calling ahead since sometimes there could be a long wait if there are a lot of orders. Ordered in December 2023. The chicken was off and gave me nausea 10 minutes after eating it. I've had the runs and have constantly been running to the toilet for the last 4 days. This place is getting worse and worse....I previously rated it 5 star but now it's down to 2...I'll definitely be a little hesitant to come back next time. My last two visits were terrible. During my second last visit: The staff working there were extremely unprofessional. And a couple of the others dipping sauces weren't in the correct boxes...it was all over the place. However when we called they said they could make us a new batch of 2lb wings but we would have to pick up...oh well. This place has the potential to be a lot better if the prices weren't so darn high! One regular order of vegetarian "chicken wings" are pretty expensive for what you get and they're SUPER greasy as well - I could honestly only stomach about half of what they give you and my stomach was in pain! One of the WingsUp! guys came in and informed me that it was their grand opening today, and that the first 50 people would receive a 1/2 lb. box of wings for free. Not being able to resist wings OR free stuff, I immediately left my post for some saucy chicken goodness. I was a little apprehensive, as I've tried WingsUp! in Milton, and it was okay at best. I ordered the Thai flavour (basically the bottled sweet and slightly spicy stuff you can get in Asian grocery stores) and was incredibly pleased with the quality. The breading was crispy, without being overbearing (I'm not a breading person) and the chicken was extremely flavourful. Like I said, the sauce was the bottled stuff, but I was expecting that, and craving it, so I was very happy. The box came with two celery sticks and two giant carrot rounds (not sticks, weird). Horrible taste and horrible customer service. Check my review history: I am very generous with reviews, but WingsUp! Mississauga is a special case that really warrants a one-star review. After ordering 1.5lb of honey garlic chicken wings for delivery, paying $30, I was given a totally incorrect order. It was neither chicken wings nor honey garlic flavor. I calmly called WingsUp about the issue and they were dismissive of it. I then pushed then further to investigate, giving them the benefit of the doubt. They told me it was out of their hands because they put the order together and the delivery service they partner with was to blame. That's amazingly idiotic. Imagine Amazon telling you that they are not to blame for your package going missing and that it's out of their hands. The audacity of the manager here is appalling. Anyway, after multiple attempts to rectify the issue I gave up. The rude, antagonistic manager on the phone offered no help or condolences. I am investigating the issue myself for possible fraud, and recommend that nobody order at this fraudulent establishment. With regards to the food quality, it is below average. The presentation is terrible and messy (see pictures), and the top it all off, we found three strands of course, black hair in our meal -- I guess at this point, that's par for the course. I only ordered 1 pound of texas tequila and I could tell the guy on the phone was hesitant about sending a driver all that way for 1 pound. The wings got to my house in 20 minutes flat. They were very very delicious although I will say they could have thrown in an extra 1 or 2....there were only 8 wings and they weren't the biggest I've ever seen. Ordered delivery. I live 5 minutes away, was told it would be here in 45 minutes. It was over an hour until it arrived. My first few bites were pleasant, but then things turned around. And here is why: On Friday March 22, 2013, I went to pickup my order. As I approached the store, an Wingsup employee was outside chatting with a friend smoking. I entered the store and waited 3-5 minutes as no one was at the desk. Who was suppose to be there? The employee smoking outside. They came back in, although noticed that I had been standing there (and still finished their smoke and conversation) and did briefly apologize (BUT DID NOT WASH THEIR HANDS) The food was given to me. Half way through the meal I had noticed not all the wings were cooked properly. I decided not to eat anymore not make a complaint. I was pretty full anyways. The next day I was hit with the most SEVERE FOOD POISONING I had ever had in my life and the first time my stomach has been remotely damaged by food in that manner since 2008 (WHEN I WAS IN EAST AFRICA) poor service uncooked food NEVER EVER EAT AT THIS PLACE. TRUST ME. oh and just to add, the wings were not good at all. I 've had wings up and similar tasting wing places for years, like Red Rockets in Hamilton for example. These are some of the best wings I've ever tasted. The pieces are LARGE. I don't like places that give you pieces full of bones. More importantly, they are cooked to the right texture. We ordered 5 lbs of wings with 2 flavors. Texas Tequila was good. Tangy Lemon lacked lemon taste but partly because the Texas Tequila overpowered it. It's only losing one star because I think the prices could be better. They could have offered better prices for larger orders like mine. At a pub $12 is ok for 1lb of wings.
