Once my favorite wing franchise, I tried the original hot wings yesterday after not having them in a number of years. Boy was I disappointed! There was little the sauce had in common with original recipe as the color was too dark red instead of orange and the flavor was more like pickled. Completely absent was the hot spicey flavor of fermented peppers against a smooth buttery undertone. The sauce on the wings I had yesterday was some kind or imitation concoction that would cause the people of Louisiana no end of embarassment if it was advertised as Louisiana hot sauce. The wings looked pretty good, ordered extra crispy and they came out looking crispy and coated with sauce, and I was really anticipating that original hot sauce flavor, only to be greeted by the tast of vinegar. The mango habanero is absolutely amzing the right amount of sweet and spice that just balances each other out. I was recommended by a friend to try their Voodoo Fries and normally I don't like cheese on fries but the first bite was absolutely amazing I never would have thought to put melted cheese and ranch over seasoned fries! I went earlier in the week, and ordered the 8pc bone in wing basket. I was forced to wait 45 minutes to get my food. While my self and another customer waited we watched the staff greet, hug, talk to, dance with( yes a cook was swinging a girl around by the counter and hugging romantically) friends that came in, each of those friends received their food in minutes. while the rest of us waited. When we asked what was taking so long, the girl asked if we ordered Bone in. I had, the other customer had not, she said they take longer, I then pointed out that the guys who had just come in less then 5 minutes earlier, ordered and chatted with the friends working, where already sitting and eating their BONE IN Wings !!!
