I also noticed John 3:16 on the wall and a piece of art by our friend Von HotRod, who is local to the area. Our service was very friendly, although a little slow. The fish was the star. The batter was crispy and crunchy on the outside, while the fish inside was white, soft, flaky, and very fresh. It came with seasoned steak fries and coleslaw. I liked both. Our table was split on the coleslaw, with a few saying it was bland, but I actually liked that it worked almost like a palate cleanser between the salty fish and fries. The tartar sauce was mellow, but good. Dessert was a little more mixed. Someone ordered the strawberry malt, another had the "I'm Stuffed" mini hot fudge sundae, and my husband and I shared the full hot fudge sundae. I wasn't a fan of the full sundae being served in a tall shake glass because it was difficult to eat and the ice cream had already started melting by the time it arrived. The "I'm Stuffed" version was actually the better choice because the ice cream stayed frozen and intact. Overall, the fish was excellent, everything tasted fresh, the atmosphere had a lot of personality, and the staff was very friendly. On Sunday, May 31st, my grandma went to pick up an order from this location. She had to go in twice. The first time, there was very loud and inappropriate rap music playing. A group of employees in the back were loudly singing along, creating an uncomfortable and unprofessional environment. There were only two employees in the front who actually seemed to be working, and they even appeared annoyed. One of them apologized to my grandma for the music, which clearly was not under her control. When my grandma returned for her order, the situation didn't improve. One employee with glasses completely ignored her and seemed uninterested in doing his job, spending most of his time hiding in the back. Another employee was loudly and enthusiastically singing explicit lyrics that were completely inappropriate for a workplace setting. While he toned it down once he noticed her waiting, the behavior was already unacceptable. This is a business, not a frat house. There's a time and place for certain music and behavior, and this was neither. It was unprofessional, inappropriate, and disappointing that my grandma had to experience that. I also feel bad for the employees who were actually trying to work and had to deal with that environment. Management seriously needs to reassess what's going on at this location. Basic professionalism and respect for customers should be a priority.
