I've been to the location in Lowell, MA before and I love the food there. I've been here twice and the food is decent but they never follow the hours of when they are open. I went on a Saturday night at 11:30pm and they were already getting ready to close even though on their door it says they are open till 2am! I can't comment on the quality of this establishment's food, because I never received my food. I placed. my order and waited the estimated 35-55 minutes for my delivery. After 70 minutes of no delivery, I called the restaurant. At first they couldn't find my order. Then I was informed that my food was on its way, as they had to wait for a delivery driver. 20 minutes later Yelp indicated my food had been delivered. No call or text from the delivery driver. I searched for my food outside of my apartment to no avail. I called customer service; the representative told me the delivery driver made 2 attempts. I never received a single call or text. Here's the funny thing, I've never had this issue (unable to contact me) with any other delivery from Grubhub or DoorDash. The other funny thing is at the time of the purported second attempt, I was standing outside in front of my apartment, phone in hand. All of this is true for the Somerville Location. I've come to hate Wings Over becuase I can't count on them for service. I can only count on the fact that they'll fuck something up, and then give me the runaround. Something is missing with 7/10 orders. Something is wrong with 1/10 orders. Meaning only 2/10 orders are even close to being right. I've gotten 1 fry instead of 2, 1 fry instead of onion rings. No sides. No dipping sauces, no extra wing sauce that I paid for. In an order for 2 people, 1 box of wings was missing. Straw that broke my back was when they forgot an entire order of wings, I called back in and asked them to re-deliver it. But you were too busy, and wouldn't have another driver for over an hour. So I asked for a refund, except I paid cash so.....I would have to go down there to pick up my cash, just because you guys screwed up for the umpteenth time? I genuinely do not understand how this location is still in business, unless it's being carried by the others. Where I used to work, we'd do large orders, 10+ people. And there was a meal missing EVERY SINGLE TIME. I don't exaggerate. I was a server in college, I knew how to expedite correctly. It's not that difficult, and in fact, the larger orders were always the most correct, because we'd check them most carefully. So, one time, we called ahead, let them know we'd be putting in a large order, did it all online. And there was STILL an order missing. So we called in, and she knew our caller ID, picked up the phone, almost shouting, "I checked it myself, there is nothing missing." I apologized (why? because she was a bitch), but told her we were missing an order of 6 wings. So what did Wings Over Somerville do? Improve their service? Fuck no. I love Wings Over!. I first ordered from them when i went to School in Springfield and remember eatin them when The Boston Red Sox won the 2004 World Series. Then came Wings over Brookline. My friend and I were hooked. We used to go there every other weekend, or just when the mood struck us. Since i have moved back home, going to the Brookline Wings is really far, so im really glad they opened one in Somerville. The place is small with no dine-in seating, but the quality is still the same Their menu is pretty easy to read, they have boneless wings and wings with the bone. The next step is choosing how many wings you want, they all have special names and the more wings you want, the more flavors you can have My all time favorites are the honey b-b-q, and the honey mustard. I always get those when i order the puddle jumper ( your choice of 2 flavors for 10 wings) Sometimes when im really hungry, i go for the choice of three flavors ( i dunno what the name for that order is) and i become adventerous and order a third flavor i havent had before. I have never had their boneless wings, but the regular are really meaty and they are really juicy. and they dont skimp on the sauce. The only downside is their celery sticks are really wimpy looking. its like they cut a regular celery stalk in fourths. read more

After reading some of the reviews of this place, im wondering if they are talking about the same place on Somerville Ave. This place is at its best when two things happen; you order the wings, and take them to go. I went in last week for 2lbs of BBQ wings and honey BBQ wings and they were ready in less than 5 minutes. They gave some dipping sauces for them and away i went. I brought them back to the apartment where there were 5 hungry Bruins fans awaiting them. That box was gone in less than 15 minutes, and they were excellent wings. Fast service, great wings, and a pretty good selection of wings. Downside was that the place is extremely small and there are no places to sit or if you want to eat there. If this was based on food alone they'd get a 4. If their service was only off once or twice, I'd give them a 3 or a 4, but their service is God awful. Absolutely DO NOT order a combo if you want to enjoy your fries. I ordered one and apparently it all comes in the same box, so the condensation from the hot chicken wets the fries leaving them soggy and floppy. I usually enjoy wings over, and will probably keep ordering and kicking myself for it, but I've had too many bad experiences in the past to suggest them to others. In the past I've had extremely late (1+ hours past ETA) deliveries (I get it - shit happens), but another time they were missing food - they promised they'd be back 'within 2 hours' with the missing sides (which seems like a long window to correct a messed up order), but then they no-showed! Ordered through grub hub. Wings arrived 49 minutes late. Wings arrived 1) with BARELY any sauce 2) dry as a bone/ half frozen still 3) WRONG flavors. On top of this they forgot the onion rings. I called the store to get this resolved, they told me they dont know how to issue refund from grub hub (despite the fact that they easily can charge you through grubhub). After much time wasted being on hold ( and hung up on once ) I only got refund on missing onion rings ( although who knows, they say itll take days to issue so i have no real confirmation here). I called grub hub and they will not issue remaining refund either. Terrible business practice on both their fronts, and terrible customer service. This chain is NOT like the amherst chain. I was a huge fan of Wings Over last year, and I used to order every week (I've only ever gotten it on delivery). First - delivery time. Expect it to take forever on sporting-event days, and about 40min-1hour on weekends. Typically, it'll be shorter on weekdays, but it really depends. Overall, it's pretty average. Second - prices. It's a bit on the pricey side for chicken, in my opinion. I usually get the Puddle Jumper (10 wings = $8.89). Delivery isn't free, I believe it was about $2. Put another $2 on top of that for tip. That's about $13 for 10 wings, which is little more than a snack. So, pricey. Third - taste. But on the other hand, the chicken is phenomenal. I've tried pretty much every sauce and after experimentation, I've settled for getting a combination of Honey Mustard and some variation of Barbeque sauce. Plus, you get celery and a dip for free. So yes, these wings are freaking worth it. read more

As a customer who makes a request which has been fulfilled before (for example - un-breaded boneless wings) is told that it CANNOT be done and I may be confused is an absolute insult to my intelligence. So to my shock and disgust today I called again to order those yummy wings again was told that there was no way I could have order un-breaded wings before and may have been confused with the wings with the bones, perplexed with the response, I simply told the man on the line that I ordered them previously without a hassle and they were absolutely boneless because I do not eat food off the bone so there was no confusion at all, so the 1st attempt was he made an attempt to see if it can be done and then placed me on hold & the few minutes he had me on hold must have completely forgot about me that he answered the line like I was a new caller - Long story short he was adamant that they cannot un-bread the boneless wings and that they can try to un-bread them as much as possible. YEAH NOT SO MUCH! They came completely breaded and did not take into consideration in to my request. If you're looking for great bone-in or boneless wings, look no further. Wings Over's offers super tasty and tender wings, and has a great selection of flavors. It seems that many people on here have had delivery issues. I can speak to one slow experience where it took about an hour for my delivery to arrive, but that was during an NFL playoff game when they were probably busy. My advice: Go and pick-up your order if you can. Every time I have picked up my order, my food has been ready when I arrived. Tip: Go for the boneless wings unless you really love the bone-in wings. Reason being is they don't give you a ton of wings for your money, so you're better off getting boneless to maximize your value. Another Tip: Ask for extra sauce on your wings. Sometimes they will skimp on the sauce so it is best to ask for more. Can't go wrong with the Honey Mustard (favorite flavor) or Honey BBQ flavors. Before I start, this is for Wings over Newington specifically. I absolutely love Wings. It's my favorite place to order from, it's always fairly cheap, the wings are absolutely addictive, and the fries are usually amazing (sometimes they're overcooked, but I'm not revoking stars just because I personally only eat fries when they're super soft, so it's not their fault :P). I ALWAYS order either the hangar 1 or the hang glider. Boneless wings, honey BBQ sauce (or, occasionally, wimpy- but even that's super spicy to me!), root beer, and fries. The wings always come DRIPPING and soft and the sodas are always ice cold! The drivers are always super nice, they're always smiling and polite, and they're super relaxed too! If they forget something (which I think has happened like twice over 3 years, but, hey, everyone's human! :) ), they always get so apologetic and get it immediately. I hope they're getting paid enough! The only thing I should say is that if you order the hangar 1, you'll need to order an extra small blue cheese dressing if you want enough to cover the wings! But that's probably because I love to drown the wings in dressing! Also, be prepared for a wait! Depending on when you order, you'll have to wait anywhere between 20-60 minutes. If I could give them less then one star I would, and this is the reason why. My team and I are a business and we are very busy on most days. We use to order from Wings in (Somerville) numerous times, til they recently had a new policy that they do not come into the building to drop off your food. They expect you to go outside to pick up your delivery. I think this is ridiculous especially since they charge a delivery fee. Also the driver only calls you once and if you don't answer, your out of luck. He will deliver it back to the shop. Then when you call the shop to try to get an understanding, they only offer you one of two things. 1. A refund or 2. Deliver you the already cold food. I have warned my employees about them, and most of them agree that they will never order from this Wings again. Hopefully no one else has to go through this frustration. read more

NEVER AGAIN! I've ordered here several times and every time the order takes an unbelievable amount of time to be delivered and half the time it isn't correct (or even close...). The last time I waited over an hour and when we the food was delivered it was missing 6 items. We called and they said they would bring the correct order. First: Me and a small group of friends have been ordering from Wings over Somerville every Friday night for the last 10 months. Its become something of a ritual for us. The reason why we keep ordering is because they make really tasty boneless wings and waffle fries. They have many different sauces and flavors and they're all very good. However, the service is terrible. I mean really terrible. We've been keeping track, and about one out of every three orders is incorrect (and I'm being generous here). Usually an item is missing, but we've also had wings arrive with the wrong sauce, wings with no sauce, and a few times we've gotten an order meant for someone else. I am also a frequent customer of Wings over Providence, and I've never had these problems there. There is a real problem at this specific restaurant. A few months ago, when we called to have our missing items brought to us, the manager showed up in person to assure us that they were aware of the problems and that they were going to work on re-training their employees. However, this obviously hasn't happened, as the problems have continued. Tonight, we placed an order and had an item missing. We called to have the missing item delivered, and now two hours after the original delivery it still hasn't come. We'll probably be placing another order next weekend, because its a tradition for us and we really like the food. We've gotten used to the screwed up orders and its become a part of our tradition. However, if you're thinking about placing an order tonight, keep in mind that there's a really high chance that you literally won't get what you paid for. When the manager came to speak to us, he told us that when people write negative Yelp reviews, it comes out of his bonus. I regret that this review might cause distress for someone who seemed like a nice guy, but frankly this is getting old. While you don't call in Wings Over Somerville for the service, by any means, I had the worst experience on Sunday afternoon, and will not be giving this place my business again. My boyfriend and I called in our order (25 wings) at about 2pm for pick up, when they told us to come in 15 minutes. We got there about 20 minutes later, and when I arrived at the window, they had our order (relayed my phone number back to us) but did not write down WHAT we ordered. So, I re-told them. The man then told me it would be about 5-7 mins. So, I decided to wait inside. While I was waiting for my food, one of the employees was on the phone with one of their delivery drivers, calling him a "mother f*cker" for being 15 minutes late. While I consider myself pretty laid back, I was really turned off by the fact someone would use that language with customers in the store. Not only that, but my 5-7 minutes turned out to actually be 35 minutes. So overall, terrible experience for decent wings - not worth it. read more

Ordered my food (at 8:22pm) for pickup & the woman said they'd be ready in 10-15mins. I got there at 8:50pm and she had me pay and then wait. Stood there waiting and at 9:25pm she told me they we're "now starting my order". I was very annoyed and asked her how they were just starting my order and she said they were "backed up" and that she was sorry. Not only did she fail to tell me this, while I was paying.... she then offered me a "free small can of soda" as compensation when she saw I was upset.
