Before I could order while I was looking at their menu a guy in the back was yell something. Couldn't understand it and it didn't seem directed at me because he was in the back and i was at the counter. He pokes his head through the window to make eye contact with me and yells "IS YOU PICKING UP?" I said no and he said "ALRIGHT THEN YOU CAN ORDER RIGHT THERE" I turned and left then went to Q Doba next door. They have free gauc. And nobody yelled at me. Wing Stop it is next time. read more

However, I have been a customer of Wings Over Madison for about eight years, and over that time, the quality of service has steadily declined, particularly delivery, and the past two years have been especially bad. Deliveries have arrived over an hour late, orders have been deleted without notification, and I have had to drive to the store myself to resolve issues with delivery orders. These problems are recurring and point to breakdowns in the delivery process, not one-off mistakes. After last night's situation, I will no longer order delivery from this location. The Golden BBQ wings were so good! I typically don't like bone-in wings but these were DELISH! The tots were supposed to be garlic parm tots but they just tasted like normal tots to me - nothing wrong with them but I was excited for something a bit better (I added a photo of the website pic of the tots vs what I got for reference). We ordered through Door Dash and the food came out amazing! I have gotten wings over plenty of times over the last couple of years and have never been disappointed. My friend introduced me to them and told me to get the extra crispy and man does that taste amazing! I got my wings with honey bbq sauce and mild which both tasted great. I forgot to ask for celery and carrots so I added my own at home which really brought it all together. And then finally, my meal came with two pretty decent sized containers of blue cheese and some cajun fries which were bomb! I will definetly be at Wings Over again. read more

We ordered through Door Dash and when our order arrived, none of our sauces were present nor a wrap with French fries. When we called the restaurant to make them aware of the mistake they were rude and aggressive and at first refused to refund us the cost of the missing items. We eventually got a "partial refund" and they offered to remake our food at no cost...when the new order arrived it was the exact same items as the first order...no sauces and no wrap/fries. When they first opened this was the place for late delivery and great flavors. Cyber Monday - Wednesday Dec. 2020 we've had consistently poor service and apathetic responses. I think their site crashed or just didn't work but it wouldn't recognize any numbers. Hours later and phone call to the store for efforts to complete the order and that's when we learned 1. They don't process deals via phone. Gotta order online. 2. When asked whom can we call about the aforementioned website issue they responded with some words but no answer. Once reiterated then it was oh the manager doesn't know why the site is acting like that. Ok, does that mean he's the webmaster or there's no one to call about it? Yeah, I guess. Try later. Well y'all. Later on I recalled he found my old place so I must've registered once before. Now I can log in and ordered for pick-up 2 days later. Arrive and it's not ready. Don't wait inside due to covid. No worries but I'm told if I stay by the window...he can let me know it's ready. Too tickled. I can walk from the lot back to the storefront. It's not that I dont appreciate the offer... I don't appreciate this whole process. Inconvenient Daunting and too many checked out workers. Food quality: subpar given the effort & the tenders were not crisp before saucing. I guess I should have made a note to fry harder or crispy. A change in energy would do us all good, but the flavors are worthwhile, an alternative to BW3 and the location is campus adjacent. The bone-in wings made an Egyptian mummy look tasty. They were the dryest chicken I've ever had the misfortune to attempt eating. The lemon pepper seasoning was mostly just salt. The fries were so loaded with grease that even just gently pressing on one caused grease to ooze out the sides. I really was looking forward to dinner but ended up throwing most of it away. My husband said his tenders were o.k. but not worth the price. He chose the "bread" and it really was just that. One slice of Texas toast folded in two. Much better than my last visit. Though I apparently failed to properly state that I wanted bone-in Wings. I only said I wanted the DC10 and habanero on half and garlic parm on the other half. Took me all the way back to 20 miles west of Madison to discover the error. Because the guy taking the phone orders was so friendly and polite I didn't excerpt even the slightest hint of annoyance. Unlike my previous visit to this same Wings place where the girl working that night was unbelievably rude, and my order was wrong. That's what a great attitude can do. I generally dislike boneless wings. With the passion. But these were actually rather good. Not as good as the bone in place Wings and legs, no not close. Those are special. While the place look small, it was very inviting. If you wanted to order takeout at the restaurant you would be able to relax a bit while there. The staffs were also nice no matter when you come in. I've arrived at 7 p.m and 3 a.m and both times the staff were super helpful and inviting. The wings are also great. Most of the sauce tasted amazing and compliments the wings very well. That said there were a few sauce I didn't like as much but that's a personal preference. One of the best place to get wings in town at a reasonable price. Well....nobody should have high expectations of a late night wing joint but this place used to be decent...for a late night meal. Not so much anymore. They've dropped approximately 30% of their flavor options, their tenders are now consistently tough and chewy, and their blue cheese is no longer thick and creamy and instead tastes like they just added bluecheese crumbles to their ranch sauce. The only reason I give it two stars is because it's open late. If you want better late night food, I think you'll have to go downtown. Good luck. Most Madison restaurants close early. read more

I never write reviews but I used to be a huge fan of Wings over Madison. Their new "upgrade" was really a downgrade. The menu is more limited than it used to be and the food was mediocre. I got the tender sandwich, it used to come with fries but it doesn't anymore. The sandwich was alright but it used to be crispy and oh-so-delicious. Obviously everyone's prices went up but I paid almost 25$ for half of the amount of food I used to get from here. Hugely (and unfortunately) disappointed :( The staff was very sweet though. Definitely need a solution to the crazy amount of bugs on the walls but the interior of the restaurant has overall improved. read more

Now I'm not really a fried chicken kinda gal but I do love wings. So when I got a coupon for a free DC-3 from Wings Over, I was pretty excited! Reading the very polarized reviews did humble me a bit, but figured I had a coupon so why not? I chose the Sweet Korean fire sauce because I am a sucker for asian flavors and heat. A review told me to get "XXtra" sauce so it would still be saucy by the time I came to pick it up. Makes sense. See attached photo for results. Who calls this extra sauce?? I would barely even consider this a regular helping. The wings were so unevenly sauced, some places were slathered, some had none at all. The chicken itself was dry, and so overfried. It was so tough to even chew and bite into the breading was so hard. It just gave me a stomach ache and a sore jaw for the rest of the night. On top of that, the cashier was so rude. The only reason WO doesn't get 1 star is because the sauce was actually really good. All I can say is that I'm glad I didn't pay for it because I won't be coming back. read more

When every other restaurant in Madison is closed you can count on Wings over Madison to not only be there but bring some great food to the table as well. They have some of the quickest service in down and they have never once messed up my order. The packaging is great with the food as well and I am happy to see them thriving in Madison. Yay! I'm a fan. Our lunch golf plans were thrwarted by the course being closed. Check ahead, folks. Instead of getting a good walk in, we decided to grab some food. My buddy suggested Wings over Madison. I had heard of them and wanted to try 'em, so it was an easy choice at that point. It's not a big place - primarily for carryout or delivery. They seemed busy enough with those types of orders. There are tables (for two) for seating up to 12 or 14, I'd say. We both ordered the "Hang Glider" combo - a half pound of wings, fries and a soda. I got the "kickin" sauce, which was explained to me as a cross between buffalo and bbq. He was right, and it was excellent. I'm not a fan of straight buffalo sauce, but the Kickin' sauce had just enough of it in to know it was there, but enough bbq to even it out. I love them. Dipping in ranch just made them even better. The fries were plentiful. They were the most salty fries I've ever had eating out. For real. But I like salty, so I wasn't offended. I had three ketchup packges buried under my fries and wings - not ideal, but it was there... Overall, there was PLENTY of food to justify my $10 meal. Honestly, I'd love a smaller portion for less money, but I get the half-pound increments they work with. It is what it is. This place is excellent for getting a big order of food and carrying out. I just wish I had reason to do that more often! For a "go somewhere and have lunch" option, it's just okay - they just aren't set up with that in mind, but the food is excellent. read more

But really, there is a solid component of this place being over rated. It is a classic wing joint that is primarily meant for take out. There are traditional and boneless wings alongside sandwiches, wraps, and ribs. Classic wisconsin sides include fries, onions rings. Food always seems to be cooked okay. A wide variety of wing sauces and dry rubs are available however most of the these flavors are mediocre at best. The service could use some help. Whenever I go in there, nobody seems interested in actually helping me. You should also always check your order before leaving as there seems to he a higher than usual chance of mistake. The wings were alright. I was really excited to try this place when I saw that it was right down the block from where I live so I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap, a few wings, and some fries. The fries were pretty standard salted crinkle cut fries (3/5) and I enjoyed them. The buffalo wrap was pretty good as well (4/5). It was very large, so have an appetite if you order it! Where wings over Madison missed the mark was with the wings (surprisingly). The wings I got were on the drier side and just didn't taste like great quality. They were slightly overcooked and my boyfriend refused to eat them after he tried the first one. They were edible but from a wing place it was pretty disappointing. For people trying to quickly grab wings in madison, this is the place to go: the wings are as good as you'll get for fast food, the wait is short, and the pickup process is streamlined beautifully-- pay ahead and simply grab your food from the table when it's ready. The tables are sorted by delivery app the order was placed through which makes it easy to locate yours. Personal favorite is the Hot Buffalo. Hot Garlic is good too, but kind of just tastes like medium-spicy Buffalo. Korean sweet fire was solid, but nowhere near as good as if I'd gone to a Korean restaurant (i know, shocker right?) There's no coke freestyle but they offer a good variety of canned coke products which is far better in my opinion. They have two cashiers and both are unprofessional, they didn't greeting us and one of them(girl) was sitting on the stools and eating her dinner at the cashier counter while we were ordering our wings. Run by inept college dropouts under rudderless management. Wrong orders are the norm. Wings came cold, some in a ton of sauce, some in a little. Rude staff when I called them about it. Last weekend, driver left with a snarky remark and forefitted his tip in the process. Some items were clearly made hotter or milder than ordered, with who knows what else after a comment like that. Never complained before then. It's a college town with college kids. I get it. That's not an excuse to be a jerk with paying customers. Reported them to corporate.
