Great food! Their Badgerville Spicy sandwich is my go to, they put coleslaw on it. Cheese curds are prime.

this place is so overpriced and so bad. the chicken is not even fried. butterbird or canes is a much better option on state street.

After a few visits to Madison, I finally tried Butterbird and what a treat it turned out to be!…read moreLocated a few blocks from campus, Butterbird is a retro-styled spot slinging up all things chicken...and cheese curd! The process is walk-in, walk-up, order, take a number and then head to the table of your choosing. Once done, leave everything, as they will clear your table. Its efficient and was an easy process from start to finish. We walked in, scoped a menu and then ordered a couple of chicken sandwiches along with an order of cheese curds. I got the standard chicken sandwich which was solid, and my buddy got the Caesar sandwich, and he enjoyed it quite a bit. The curds were more cheese stick-style, but still tasty, however a bit salty on their own. Service was super friendly from entry to food delivery and to exit. The space is really cool, well laid out, copious seating inside and features a great enclosed outdoor space, which is where we sat. Overall, really enjoyed our visit to Butterbird and definitely recommend for those in the area of campus!

This spot is great!…read more We visited with a group at a somewhat random time and really enjoyed ourselves. We did have some timing hiccups with our ice cream at the end... they didn't have the flavors we ordered and it took probably 30 min to get the ice cream due to some issues... But aside from that, our meal was great! The chicken sandwiches were delicious. Not greasy and very tasty. Good sized chicken amounts and the buns were perfect, soft but not insignificant so they didn't fall apart while eating. The biscuits were also great - definitely worth it. We ended up going back for more food throughout our meal and aside from the ice cream hiccups, the food came swiftly and the staff was really nice (especially while we tried to figure out what we wanted in line!). Bathrooms (and the rest of the restaurant) were really clean! Very delicious, prices were good and the space is large enough to accommodate small-ish groups. Visit! You won't be disappointed!

Second visit -- first time at the new location -- and unfortunately a disappointing one. I was…read moregenuinely excited to bring a friend and support a local spot I've enjoyed in the past. The décor and overall aesthetic are lovely, but the food and service didn't come close to matching the first time. The biggest issue was temperature. Majority of food on the plate was not hot and not warm -- not the chicken, not the rice, not the beans. At the previous location, you could see the chickens roasting on the spit, and the food arrived hot and fresh. Here, I'm not sure what's happening behind the scenes, but the food temps indicate it had all been sitting. The only item that was freshly prepared were the plantains. I didn't bring it up to the server because she was checked out the entire time, and honestly, I can't expect her to remedy the kitchen if she can't bring waters. Why is the kitchen sending out food that clearly isn't hot? Is it being held in a steamer? If so the temps are not being checked and that becomes a food safety issue beyond quality‑control issues. Service itself also missed the mark. The pretty glasses are small -- though pretty-- and I had to flag the server down for refills. Same with the sauces that are supposed to come with the meal; they only arrived after I asked. To be clear it was 1:00 on a Monday and there was one other table in the place at arrival, and one table after our arrival. I had been planning another visit to introduce a different friend, but after this experience, I don't think I'll be returning. I hope things improve, because the new space deserves better execution than what's currently coming out of the kitchen.

The owner came by and gave us each a small cilantro soup as a freebie (which who doesn't like a little freebie?) :) My wife and I liked the atmosphere and found the prices reasonable. If you are looking for a nice casual small restaurant to have a lunch...highly recommend Pikkito.

I got 10 baked boneless wings (buffalo) and fries. The space is so inviting and with lots of seating available, including a bar area. The employees were so nice and welcoming. The food was really solid. They are baked wings but taste better than some deep fried wings. Great buffalo sauce flavor and so so fresh fries and wings. I am going to make sure I come back to BW&T soon and make the trip down to state street to try more of their items.

It was very quiet the whole time I was there. The space is pretty big with lots of tvs and with a separate bar on one end away from the food ordering counter. The prices were pretty typical for wings these days. I opted for the boneless wings because I was being lazy. They have a half dozen tossing sauces and more rubs. Actually it turns out that when you order online they have more sauces. Not sure why they aren't listed in store. I asked the very soft spoken worker and still not sure about the rationale. The boneless wings were different than most. They weren't like chicken nuggets. The hot honey sauce was very good and the baked prep was tasty. I would like to try their regular wings next. Also I give them credit for having regular plates and silverware versus plastic. We shall see if that continues. They do have a full bar. I will return.
