We haven't been to Wings Etc in several years. We always enjoyed it but just fell off from going for some reason. We decided to go and see how things have changed. It was not busy when we arrived at 3:00 in the afternoon. Fairly quiet except for the TV's playing. Not a large building, so seating is limited. Took the parents. Dad had never been. The server was very friendly but was the only one in the place serving. Not quite as quick service, given that. Dad and mom each ordered six boneless wings with BBQ sauce and shared an order of onion rings. Husband and I each ordered the Barron Grilled Chicken with a side of onion rings. The Barron comes with mushrooms, bacon and cheddar-jack cheese. I added bbq sauce and pickles to mine. Husband added lettuce, tomato, and pickles. We waited. For quite some time. Dad began to wonder if they had to butcher the chickens. But the food eventually arrived. This is common at this location, so we weren't really surprised. We were in no hurry, so it served to slow the pace of life for a bit. The wings looked delicious as did the onion rings. The Barron? It was incredibly tasty and very filling. We... never did taste the mushrooms tho. Didn't locate any in the sandwich. Still very good. The spicy ranch used to dip the onion rings in is something I'd highly suggest getting as well. A nice little kick to it. All in all, we decided we need to start frequenting it more often. Definitely some very good food and good value for your buck. Definitely recommend. read more

This is the 2nd time I've ordered online and then drove the 15 miles to pick it up and the 2nd time I've got there and they don't have the order. Now, they have offered to make it while I waited. I'd give it zero stars if it was possible we've visited this establishment 1/2 times per week for the past two years . we order the exact same thing every time , there are two of us. tonight 4/14 we went in, bar was empty and only two tables sat. I ordered our usual basic order , we had a server we've never seen so I made sure to clarify my burger was to be plain and no bread due to allergies. We waited almost 25 min for our food to come out. My burger was caked in onions. I kindly told her the burger was supposed to be totally plain. she snapped back "so you don't want any cheese then ?" "You didn't say no onions" I said maam I asked for a plain burger only cheese and no bread. She stormed off , I waited another 25 min for a remake, (my son had already finished his meal), she then came back and asked if wanted the aïoli on it, and I stated"no thank you just plain please " She stood in the doorway and had the bartender bring it to me, my sauces I had ordered were missing and the fries were dry, ice cold and stale, clearly the ones originally plated w my first burger. Had to ask the bartender for fresh ones and wait for ten minutes We never saw our waitress for quite some time, she never checked back to make sure our order came out correct, never offered us any drink refills nor did the bartender. She avoided us like the plague, I had to ask the bartender for our check. No apology on the end of staff for the mixup, no attempt to compensate us for their mixup. And when she finally took my card for payment not a word was said , nothing Totally unprofessional. I am sympathetic to the fact that all people make mistakes, communication issues can arise but I made it clear more than 3 times for a plain burger only cheese. Worst wings ever, went a year ago had an epic failure and thought maybe they will do better this year, man was I wrong. Wings tasted like the were warmed up under the heating lamp way to long. Then when I complained, the cook said there is nothing wrong with the wings and started getting upset with me. Then I had a conversation with the manager and she said there wasn't anything wrong with the wings which is funny bc she wasn't there when the problem occurred. We ended up going to Fort Wayne branch which was crazy bc the difference was night and day. For the Fort Wayne branch I would give 5 stars. Stopped in for lunch on Friday afternoon. It was pretty busy, but has room at the bar. The bartender (I believe her name was Heather) was quick with a menu and told me their specials. I had a beer and small order of boneless hot wings. Beer was cold and delicious. Wings were cooked well and had perfect amount of sauce. Let me separate what the team does at this place from the franchise's food. The team here was great. Very friendly, attendative, and a positive part of the experience. This restaurant is new. The interior is very nice and engaging. There are plenty of TV's to catch the games on. I love wings! I don't like Wing's ETC's version. Their wings were fairly large and meaty. I ordered the Me-So-Spicy and Major Jerk sauces. The sauces were okay. The wings came out cooked soaking in sauce. One half of the wings were not even coated in the sauce. The sauce was pooled in the bottom of a paper laid in a basket. The wings didn't adopt the flavor of the sauce which seems like it was just poured over the wings. I don't think they actually cooked the sauce into the wings. Very disappointing. On the positive side....the pretzel bites were excellent. The cheese was very tasty. I personally will not go back to any Wings ETC. This is the second franchise that I have visited and the wings experience was not favorable. read more

5 stars to give them some credit.... and bring rating up a bit. Do not go to Wings Ect expecting fast and great service. They are almost never "on it" but it seems like they have a hard time keeping staff. I rarely have people that wait on me multiple times... and I'm a regular. If you're looking for a place with good (traditional) wings, good beer, and good music... I very much recommend. I used to love Winds ect. Until going to this location. First time I went, I ordered the rib tips and wings. The tips came out refrigerator cold and even though I said light sauce on my wings, they were drenched. Said something to the waiter and he acted like it was no big deal! Decided to give it another shot a few days ago and my wife and I went in. She ordered a burger and chili cheese fries and I ordered wings and chili tots. Our food came out about 45 minutes later, which was a huge shock as they weren't busy. The waitress told us they messed up my tots and had to remake them. About 15 minutes later she showed up with my tots and asked if we needed anything else? I asked where my celery sticks were and she said they forgot them. She brought me 3 sticks about as round as a pencil and 2-3 inches long. My wife said her chili fries tasted weird and when I tried my tots, I spit them bite out in a napkin. Once again said something to the waitress about the food and she said sorry and cleared our plates and set the bill on the table. We have come here and got good food before but unfortunately tonight was not the night... the fish was hot that's really all I can say about .. my fries every time I get them they are either medium cold or taste like they've been sitting under a heating lamp.. Ordered wings to go as I was driving though Decatur. Staff was friendly, no complaints. The wings, however, were terrible. They were tiny, mostly breading, and hadn't actually been tossed in the sauce. It was as if they just poured the sauce on top. More than half of the wings were not even 50% sauced while there was a pool of sauce on the bottom of the plate. I also ordered fries which did not come with the combo oddly enough. I wouldn't have paid $0.25 per wing if I had known how terrible these would be, much less $1 per wing! Sonic has better wings. read more

We went on a Friday night for dinner. It took over 5 minutes for any staff member to acknowledge we were waiting to be seated. The waitress greeted us in a timely manner and brought our drinks quickly. The drinks tasted funny. It took 25 minutes to get water instead. The fries and Wings were cold. We had the Blazin Asian wings well done. They were very tasty, spicy and good. We sat at the bar service was good. The bartender was very social especially since we were from out of town. Inconsistent kitchen I have had wings that very good and I have had wings that were very dry due to being over cooked. I went there to get some wings, I ordered 26 flappers I told the waitress that I only wanted flappers no drums. She acted like she understood what I wanted, when the order came out 11 of the 16 where drums. She said that they didn't have enough flappers to fill the order. Even if that was true, she should of told be then not when she was bringing me out the wrong order. I contacted them back in the website and the never got back to me. My husband and I went to wings etc with a group of friends on Friday night. We got there at 7 and they told us our wait for 10 people would be a few minutes. We told the hostess we would t mind being split up since we had a large group. Throughout our hour long wait to be seated we were asked by three different servers if we would mind being split up which we kept saying would be fine. Finally we were separated and seated. The service was slow, everyone in the party ordered our food. When we received our food half of our table had received the wrong item. After waiting longer we received the correct items. The Italian Beef sandwich I had there yesterday was the absolute worst I have ever had anywhere in my life.. and for almost $10.00!.. I could go other places and get one 3 to 4 times as much meat, and 100X better for about $7 to $8 .. My mouth was raw and swollen minutes after eating something that tasted and looked like scraps swept off a counter top.. The servers were taking their time on everything and every guest that was there looked miserable. We came on April 6th around 7:45 PM. We were greeted immediately and then seated. Our waitress got our drink order and our food order soon after upon arrival. Food was delivered in a timely manner. Then, the experience had dramatic downfall. We had not seen our waitress since our arrived, our drinks were to the bare bottom and we were eating spicy entrees. We had to force ourselves to stop eating because our mouths were on fire by then. After wait approximately 15 minutes, we finally decided to take our glasses to the other side of the restaurant where the bar was located. To find waitress devouring her food and chatting with other wait staff. She then refilled our drinks and returned them to the table. We realized a near by table of ours had also experienced the same situation as we did. By then, our food was cold and we were ready to leave. Once again, we could not locate our waitress. We then asked another waitress of the restaurant for the bill and a box, she fulfilled our request and checked us out. Wings Etc in Decatur- I'm never one to give a bad review on social media. I only give positive amazing reviews. After the second time this has happened I tried calling this evening. I was on the phone for ten seconds and the gentleman told me they couldn't find the manager and to call back later. I feel the need to say something before it hospitalizes a child. When I was pregnant I went there for lunch w my buddy and I was served raw wings in the middle. I could have been hospitalized myself during that time and something could have happened to my baby but we caught it in time. My husband is now on day 2 of extreme food poisoning. He has had the shakes, fever, bathroom, vomiting and looks awful. Not one to ever miss work and probably has to miss tomorrow as well. I've never seen him this sick in my life. We will never go there again. I have heard so many others being served frozen wings, raw wings and more. I've worked in a wing establishment before. Hooters to be exact! The cooks need to be well trained on how to handle chicken properly and also how to check chicken and timing the chicken right along with the temperature. If this is an issue the staff should take it a step further and unfortunately cut open the wing a little to ensure if it is done since they cannot trust the cooks. This is not something you take lightly at a restaurant. I root for all of Decatur's establishments but I can't be quiet about this anymore. Wings needs to get their act together before we have a large vacant building in Decatur. Mega training from the owner of this franchise needs to step in and either train cooks properly or the managers need to step it up and be in the kitchen until it is under control. Zero tolerance on handling chicken improperly and termination if caught. Do they need to have better chicken fryers with proper gadgets? Do they change their oil enough? Is the kitchen even clean? So much goes into owning a restaurant. It's 80% service and 20% food. That 20% portion needs to be handled properly before something tragic happens which CAN happen. read more
