After searching through a few businesses in town, Crusco Catering seemed to check all the boxes. The website is minimal, clean and straight-forward, unlike some of the other businesses viewed that were packed with too many graphics, options, and everything everywhere.
When you are booking your event request on the site, they offer a few options: Drop Off Service, Tapas & Appetizers, Pre-Fixe Dinners, Customer Specific Dinners, and Cooking Classes. For our event, I selected the Pre-Fixe Dinner, which was plated and seated. The Pre-Fixe Dinner comes with 4 courses, staff, and requires a minimum of $1000. There are five menu options: Steak, French, Italian, Latin, or Spanish. We went with the Italian option to satisfy all of our guests' dietary needs.
The Italian menu comes with Bruschetta Vierge, a Caprese Salad, Sea Bass in Tomato Brodetto, and Zabaglione & Strawberries. Sounds fancy, but when the dishes arrived, the bread was burnt on the bruschetta and the zabaglione was drizzled on the strawberries instead of in a cup with strawberries.
The worst part was the in-between wait times on food. I understand our party was incredibly large (20), but the dishes varied between hot and cold and should have provided ample time for set up. We even had our guests come to the patio at one point since the dishes were taking too long to come out.
The longest wait times were in between the bruschetta (hot) and the caprese salad (cold), and post sea-bass (hot) for the zabaglione (cold)...
For a party for 20, I would not suggest a residential, plated catering event with Crusco Catering, as I felt the staff could not keep up with a semi-large group. However, if your party is half the size, you might have a better experience.
