Our aunt was at Windgate and she appeared to have a great experience and it did appear to be a nice clean well run facility.

Hudson Valley Rehab and Extended Care Center - How I found mom after 1st night. Covered in her own waste, diaper not affixed, hanging out of bed. Appalling. I had to take this sad pic.

You can imagine how vulnerable I was with the brutality of the pain and feeling lost. Fortunately, I was able to get into the Baptist Home at Brookmeade in Rhinebeck. (Not sure that's the correct name.) This is an amazing place. The nursing staff at all levels is kind, professional, attentive, patient, supportive, caring, respectful, and responsive. And whatever positive words you can add. I had seen a negative comment prior to coming here and, honestly, it is hard to imagine anything happening here that is less than perfect. When in pain and suffering, just able to wait out the healing process, one becomes scared and powerless. I'm 80 years old and still working. I travel for business and am completely on my own. This has been a temporary diversion and this staff helps people recover. Thank you. Thank you. I am eternally grateful. Janet Doublier

After an illness left him significantly disabled, we researched and visited nursing facilities, looking for a placement where he would be safe, well cared for, and treated with dignity. In Dad's time at Paramount, the clinical staff have been attentive, professional, and genuinely compassionate. They treat him as an individual, not just a patient, and always make him feel respected. The facility itself is clean, calm and welcoming, which gives us great peace of mind. Administrative and non-clinical staff have also been very helpful, guiding us through paperwork and fielding our questions with patience and clarity. My husband and I have spent a lot of time at Paramount over the past two months, and we feel confident that our much-loved elder is receiving the comprehensive support he needs in a caring environment.

My mother had an eye infection & needed antibiotics 4 times a day, which she was not receiving. We had to insist, but the nurse was adamant about what she wanted to do. Took my mother off her incontinence medication. They changed her insulin medication. They took her off her diarrhea medication that was prescribed by her gastrontrologist. My brother walked in at lunchtime one weekend,& her meal tray was at the sink. Not even close to her so she could eat. And how is she supposed to eat If he didn't walk in to give it to her. I walked in on the same day of the same weekend & she was in bed in a diaper with her bedroom Door closed. How is she supposed to call out for help if she needed help, for no one to hear her with the door closed. Just recently she was being discharged on Friday, & I walked in at lunchtime, she was in a diaper, and a top in bed, flat on her back while all the staff was down the hall. She was saturated, I had to change her clothes. The staff was not even near my mother & my mother was not feeling well. I asked them to check her blood sugar as she's a diabetic, it was 63. I ended up calling the paramedics because they wouldn't call. She had to be taken to the hospital. It turns out that she had a uti infection. They also threw her antibiotics away when i was looking for them. Who does that? They wanted to kill her. I would never recommend this Rehab facility to anyone.
