I've also yet to come across a flawed bottle so I haven't put their "provenance guarantee" to the test. Still, I've had nothing but pleasant experiences purchasing wine from BWG. Their pricing tends to be very competitive, if not the best in the area, and they've got a huge selection, including a lot of older vintages that are harder to find. I've interacted with their staff via email as well as in person and everyone has been pleasant to work with. That being said, I think there are some opportunities to make improvements. 1. When ordering for pick up, I believe there's a calendar for you to select a date. I often miss this so I wish they would just send an email that your order is ready for pickup. I placed an order recently, got busy with work, and totally forgot about it - which is 100% my fault - but I never received any notification from them beyond the order confirmation. 2. I wish there was an option to hold the wines and slowly build out a case (or two). More often than not, I am not in a hurry to pick up the wines and although we live somewhat close to their warehouse, it's not convenient to make multiple trips out during the weekday when I've got to work. Having this option would motivate me to purchase more wine from them more often to fill out that case and I would know the wines would be properly stored until such time as I did fill out the case and was ready to pick up. 3. It would be awesome if they offered free shipping on a case, even if that offer was limited to Northern California only. In conjunction with (2) above, I would be more inclined to spend more money having the convenience of UPS/FedEx dropping off the case to my home. 4. I wish they were open on Saturdays, even if limited hours. It'd be much more convenient for pick ups. Overall, I'm happy enough with BWG. If they have a wine I'm looking to acquire at a good price, I won't hesitate to order from them. With some improvements though, I would be more likely to come to them as my first option when purchasing wine rather than just on a case by case basis when they happen to have something I'm looking for.

I loved the open kitchen concept--you get to watch the chefs in action--and even the bathrooms have unique details that make the whole restaurant feel special. Everything we ordered was delicious. The special of the day was shishito peppers with a balsamic glaze, and they were absolutely incredible. Sweet, savory, and perfectly blistered--I could have ordered another plate just for myself. The calamari was another standout. It was light, crispy, and fresh with a delicate batter instead of the heavy coating you often find elsewhere. We also ordered the Pork Chop Milanese, which was a generous portion and easily shareable. It was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and one of my favorite dishes of the meal. The Ravioli al Limone was rich, creamy, and full of bright lemon flavor--definitely a must-order if you love fresh pasta. A few friends at our table have been on an Italian food kick lately and ordered the chicken, and it exceeded everyone's expectations. It was juicy, well-seasoned, and definitely not an afterthought on the menu. And of course, the pizza was a huge hit with the kids. It's always nice when a restaurant can make both the adults and little ones happy. The cocktails were just as impressive as the food--beautifully crafted, refreshing, and every drink we ordered was excellent. We dined with kids, and the staff was incredibly accommodating, seating us in a comfortable corner that made the experience much more relaxing. The service throughout the evening was warm, attentive, and never rushed. Between the inviting atmosphere, fantastic food, great drinks, and thoughtful service, Scala Osteria absolutely earns 5 stars. It's the kind of place you'll want to come back to again and again. Highly recommend!

The vibe was fun and inviting, all the beautiful lights made the ambiance lively! Here's what we ordered for party of 3: Ravioli al limone $34 (5/5) This dish was also recommended by our sommelier earlier today and it was truly delishjous. 6 Creamy raviolis in a light lemon cream sauce, not too rich but really melted in our mouth Lasagna $34 (5/5) I'm a sucker for lasagna, anything gooey, creamy and layered with bolognese sauce. This was done right. Pan seared branzino $38 (4/5) This was good too lightly seared light fish with some veggies on the sides Ciabattina & bagna cauda $6 (5/5) Crispy warm loaf with this anchovy butter. It's liquid anchovy butter so more dunk-able than spreadable. Zeppole $15 (5/5) Can't go wrong with ending the night with warm Italian donuts with chocolate sauce and cream sides. Dessert since it was my birthday they gave me a scoop of a fruity ice-cream with a candle on top. It was a really nice gesture. The service was great and the food was amazing! I would definitely come back to try the other dishes! The 3 of us were stuffed happy!

I've never really been a rum fan... until I tasted Batiste…read more Sure, I've had my share of daiquiris and mai tais over the years. And I've even indulged in a Dark & Stormy and the occasional rum & coke. But for me personally, rum is a heavy spirit with a strong aftertaste, and can lead to a nasty hangover the next day. But then I tried Batiste - and it doesn't have any of that heaviness. It's super smooth. In fact, I would even go so far as sipping on it with no mixer (kind of like a good tequila). But here's the best part - Batiste Rhum is local. True story. In fact, they're the only American rum using single-origin 100% fresh sugarcane juice. It's initially grown and distilled in the French Caribbean, and then aged & finished right here in Napa. And for the quality that you're getting, it's very reasonably priced. You can a 750 ml bottle of silver or gold rhum for $25 - $30. You'll find it at stores like Safeway, Mollie Stone's, Whole Foods, Woodlan's and other higher end markets and fine liquor stores. And you'll always find Batiste in quite a few popular Bay Area County restaurants & bars (Guesthouse, Bungalow 44, Balboa Cafe, Flores, No Name Bar, etc.). So it's nice to see them catching on with local bartenders. If you're looking to mix up some summer cocktails, definitely keep Batiste in your liquor cabinet. Cheers!
