N'awlins Grille - New Menu November of 2024

Salad- perfection Parm fries- literally best I've ever had. Hush puppies- ok here's where things get a little weird. They are AMAZING. BUT, they aren't traditional. They are lighter with a finer grain and crisp and I am absolutely sure there's room in my life for both puppies. I will be back to try the real food and review then!

N'awlins Grille was formerly located on Elm Street in Downtown Manchester from 2013 to 2016. There hasn't been a Cajun/Southern restaurant in the Concord area in 3 years, so N'awlins Grille fills that void. This Cajun restaurant & bar is a speakeasy bar located in an unmarked building near Eagle Square. Same as before, upon walking inside the front door on Low Avenue, look for the phone to the left in front of the mirror and pick up the phone to be let inside through a discreet door by staff. This bar and restaurant has a chill vibe with string lights across the ceiling, painted jazz musician caricatures on the walls, and exposed brick walls. The long full service bar lit up in pink & purple, booths and tables, and a small performance stage in the back corner with piano. They will feature live music on certain nights, including jazz and zydeco. Upbeat jazz music plays over the speakers. The food menu offerings include a decent variety Cajun style dishes including jambalaya, crawfish etoufee, po boys, red beans & rice, gumbo, okra & tomato stew, plus appetizers (fried frog legs, fried pickled vege, snow crab clusters, shrimp remoulade, hush puppies, alligator andoulle), burgers, chicken sandwiches greens salad, and desserts (beignets, cakes). The prices are moderate, most entrees in the $15 to $26 range (in 2024). The food menu 10 years ago seemed bigger, and the pricing in 2013 was about half, per my old Yelp posting in October 2013. I enjoyed their crawfish pie and alligator bites at the old Manchester location. The bar offers 8 draft beers, can/bottle beers, wine, and cocktails. After hearing that N'awlins Grille was back in open in a new location, I had to check it out. After I was let inside from the cold night, I took a seat at a booth directly under the heater. The staff introduced themselves and I was asked if I've ever been to N'awlins Grille when it was open in Manchester. I've been there a few times with my buddy back when he was still living in Manchester. We were also greeted with bead necklaces there. I took about 5 minutes to finally decide on the Jambalaya ($21 plus tax) served with skillet cornbread. The Jambalaya came out 5 minutes after ordering, nice and hot. The jambalaya "stew" had a mix of shrimp, vegetables, tomatoes, seafood, chicken, andoulle sausage and spices over rice. The dish had good mild spicy flavors, and the sweet cornbread balanced the flavors out. The shrimps were very soft to eat. For the dessert, I got the Beignets ($7 plus tax), which consisted of 3 fried dough pillows smothered in powdered sugar. This hot dessert was a great choice to end the meal. I haven't enjoyed Cajun food since last summer on my cruise. I'll try some of their other Cajun dishes and Po'Boys next time!

Not a stodgy theater with little legroom and a see-and shut-up atmosphere. It is a living theater, one where you can bring your wine and cheese, one where audience participation is accepted, one where photo is not frowned upon. Besides Jordan's superb performance, the thespian-loving crowd was in rare form, making it a part of the uplifting show. The theater has awesome acoustics. And as well, there is not one bad seat in the house, as the fairly steep angle of the rows provides for superb visibility throughout. The large bar and sitting area upstairs compliment the Stage. Welcoming, comfortable, with a full bar and wine offerings. Indeed, the Bank of New Hampshire stage is a model for others to follow.

The Bank of NH Stage is housed in a refurbished brick building and opened back in June 2019. The place offers an intimate theater setting with floor seating (small tables with chairs or open floor) in front of the stage and slanted rows of seating, so every seat here is great. For food, their cafe in the lobby offers made to order sandwiches, salads, naan pizzas, mac & cheese, chicken tenders, nachos, quiche, snacks, baked goods, and bottled drinks. They also have two bars serving beer & wine here including a small bar inside the theater and the main bar & lounge on the second floor with ample table seating and seating along the windows overlooking Concord. The trays provided from the cafe fit right over the narrow long wooden eating surface along the windows too! I attended an acoustic concert at Bank of NH Stage very recently. Before the show, I enjoyed their Smoked BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich ($12) drizzled with tangy BBQ sauce & served on soft brioche bun with zesty Oriental mayo, marinated vegetable slaw and garnished with sliced dill pickles & red pepper drops. I had a front row table seat and really enjoyed the performance since the view was great (up close) and the acoustics were superb! Overall, this venue was awesome and I definitely look forward to seeing more shows here!

Our Mother's Day late lunch at Tandy's Pub & Grille was unforgettable and I am so grateful we wandered in. The chicken & lemongrass dumplings were genuinely one of the best appetizers I have ever had in my life - perfectly balanced, deeply flavorful, comforting and bright all at once. Every bite felt intentional. The rest of the meal was equally flawless. My Chicken Caprese sandwich and my husband's Club sandwich were excellent, but the dumpling appetizer just stole the show for me. My mouth waters writing this and remembering! We sat outside on the patio on a beautiful spring Sunday, listening to the nearby fountain and the happy sounds of families celebrating together. It was the kind of atmosphere that reminds you how special simple moments can be when everything comes together just right. What truly elevated the experience from excellent to exceptional was the service. Greg (and another gentleman whose name I did not catch) made us feel genuinely cared for and welcomed from start to finish - warm, attentive, welcoming, and effortlessly professional without ever feeling intrusive. Hospitality like that is rare. Perfect food. Perfect atmosphere. Perfect service. I'm already looking forward to our next visit where I will immediately order those incredible dumplings again!

There weren't a lot of people there when we arrived around 8 - We thought at one point we would stay for the DJ and some dancing - We had a very nice server, Sabbian - friendly, funny, and had good customer service skills! Tried the Sam Adams Blonde Ale and we both liked that - As it got closer to 9, we realized, not that we are OLD, but we aren't stay up till 10 for dancing people, evidently....and decided to call it a night. Would go back again for lunch or maybe dinner ....but think the 10 o'clock dancing ship...might have sailed for us lol
