In Statesville, I was looking for some specific wines and was informed that Wine Maestro was the place I need to go. To be honest, I did find one of the specific wines but I felt the selection of wines was not that large. The local Grocery stores had larger selections and I was able to find more of the specific wines I was looking for. So why the 4 star rating. This place is a "Must Go" and enjoy the atmosphere of Wine Maestro. I have never been in a wine store that had such great atmosphere, tables for enjoying the wine or local beers on tap. To "Tap" it all off, great smiles behind the bar and helping you with your wine/beer purchase. This is a great place to go after work for a good glass of wine or beer. Better than most but service is lacking We had a proof of concept test going on at work and needed to evaluate alternative packing for wine. Owner of the company wanted us to try and package a good quality white and a red to show to our customer. We were working at the plant on Saturday trying to catch up on back orders and I drove over to Wine Maestro on W. Broad St. Walked in and after 15 minutes, was starting to walk out when the manager called out, can I help you? I had walked in behind another customer and they were chatting away about nothing including the weather. He explained that he thought I was with the customer who was trying to buy a keg of beer and had changed his mind and could not understand why they would not take it back. Now that we were finally talking, and I indicated that I needed at least three bottles of the same vintage of a nice white wine in the $30 - $40 range, we found what I needed. In all was in the store for half and hour and should have taken no more than 10 -15 minutes at most. The three stars comes from the service. This was my first visit although I have been to the Mooresville store a couple of times. Statesville has a good selection but due to size, not as large as Mooresville. Statesville only serves Cheese while Mooresville has a menu of Chartreuse, Cheeses and Sandwiches or let's put it this way, more of a cafe offering. read more

Nice wine store in downtown Statesville. The staff is friendly and they have a decent selection of wines for sell. Like a lot of small wine stores, they have wines available to sample. They also have craft beers as well. Additional Information - Decent selection of wines. Better than a lot of grocery stores. - Wide price range (cheap to high double digits) - Located in downtown so you have to street park. Statesville is pretty easy when it comes to free downtown parking so you should not have a problem. - If you are use to national chain pricing (i.e. Total Wine stores) then Wine Maestro will be a little more expensive. They were a $1 to $2 higher on the same wine. I'm a proponent of buying local so support your local businesses folks. read more

Such a fun place to get some beers or wine after dinner downtown. Couches and mini tables throughout or peruse the hundreds of different wines and locally brewed beers..they have outside seating that's perfect on a nice night. They close at 9pm. read more

Wine Maestro is an excellent contribution to downtown Statesville and it is good that they moved from their previous location near the mall. Since the move, they have greatly expanded their craft beer selection, added a small "bar" in the back and even hold events with live music. Their outdoor seating provides, albeit small, provides one of the few places in downtown Statesville where one can sit outside and enjoy a drink and it certainly has its regulars who come to do just that. The beer selection is certainly good (but not outstanding) and the prices are fair. I can't speak to the wine, as I know very little about wine. As far as beer goes, they have a little of everything, including the popular brews from NC: Foothills, Highland and Mother Earth. The employees I've interacted with were very friendly, although not extremely knowledgable about beer, so don't go looking for anything truly rare here. read more

Great place in downtown Statesville! Large variety of wine and beer along with other related foods and gifts. Nice bar to have a drink...chill on the couches inside, sit in the front windows and watch the passerbys or sit outside along the sidewalks enjoy the great view. Must go! read more
