Outdoor seating

The Wine Lab is retro, quirky, and has a relaxed tranquil atmosphere. There's some board games on a table inside, and a cute little outdoor seating by cattail bushes - unfortunately also alongside the road but at least you can people watch the pedestrians going to and from The Lab and The Camp. This is a cute place to catchup with friends, have a quaint little date, or sip wine in silence. The owner (?) was very knowledgeable with the wines offered and described them thoroughly to us non-wine-connoisseurs, but we enjoyed the experience! He was also very genuine and casual which we appreciated. Parking at the Camp and the Lab is atrocious on the weekend - but once you manage, it's one of my favorite places to walk around, study, read and peacefully spend the day. Plus very dog friendly at many establishments.

If you're looking for a chill, easy place to talk and lounge around (while also getting some glasses of wine) Wine Lab has the best vibe in all of Costa Mesa. Service was prompt, they have both indoor and outdoor seating, and array of wines for you to select from. If you're looking to drink from the afternoon and up, this is your place!

Brought a group of 13 people here. Slow for a Saturday which is nice but the service was slow too. If you do order wine here, make sure you keep your glasses as they charge you $15 for replacing new glasses without letting you know. Which I thought was unfair considering how much our group tipped for the service to just open a bottle to pass to me at the counter. The various wine we tried was decent.

Love this place! Andrew was so great and the ambience and food was awesome. I really like the ambience. Andrew was so great. Everything was so great here you need to come here.

Wine flight

We came on a busy weekend but we found a seat at the bar and we were attended too fairly quickly. We did the recommended wine tasting and we enjoyed each glass. I like the idea of pouring it into a tube to go with the theme but I do enjoy an extra pour when it's poured by hand to be honest lol but it was a great vibe over all I would highly recommend stopping by for a tasting if you are in the area. Very affordable. Parking can be terrible but it's worth supporting local businesses I say.

Cute vibe inside & out

Wine was super good. Came in tonight on a Tuesday night around 7:30pm. When we walked in the bartender barely looked at us & was pretty much silent the whole time we were there. Heard him being kinda rude to the other people that walked in. Could've just caught him on a bad night but my husband and i who are pretty easy going just felt super unwelcome from the moment we walked in which was a bummer cause we've been wanting to try this spot out for a while! When we asked if we could order a second glass he seemed really irritated, there was still an hour before closing so we felt it was a pretty odd response. As we were walking out we overheard the other people there talking about how rude the bartender was :/ Would love to come back if someone else was bartending because we loved the ambiance it was just pretty bad service unfortunately.

Wine flight and Burrata Plate

Went on a friday evening, they had a few bar seating and outdoor seating available with no wait. I tried the bartender's favorite flight and it was fun! I liked how you could try a variety. I saw they also do happy hour , so might try that. We also got the burrata, so good!! Only thing was, I wish the bartenders were a little more detailed with explaining the flight I chose. She kind of just told me what they were but not what to really taste or expect. I'm not a wine expert, so I would have really loved if she was open to more questions on the wines.

Cheers!

This place is always a win! I've popped in every so often over the years. I love the space, I love that they encourage you to bring in food from other restaurants at The Camp, and I LOVE their wine selection. I met a group of girlfriends (6 in the party) for a Monday night happy hour. We fit perfectly at the round table in the corner. We each polished off a flight and then ordered a glass of our favorite - every pour was delicious. Also enjoyed their cheese plate and then brought in a pizza from Folks. Andrew took great care of us, made us feel at home, and live music was the cherry on top.

Stopped by wine lab before our cooking class near by. This was a cute location. Lots of wine. My only regret was not trying a charcuterie board option. Looking forward to coming back again

This is a cute concept and it's in a good location in the camp in Costa Mesa. I like how the wine tastings are poured in a chest tube to pour into your wine glass. I like that they have happy hour. I don't really like the wine though. If you do a wine flight, the wines are a bit underwhelming and taste a bit flat/ without complexity. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing and the glasses are actually much better.

Love this cute little wine bar next to my job. My coworkers and I will pop by from time to time. The service is always amazing. This was our server's suggestion and it was easily one of the best reds I've ever had. Pricey, but it's a reserve so, expected. But it was on my boss's tab ;) love the decanter they use!

Bartender's Choice flight of whites... Liz brought me a Moscato, Italian white blend & a viognier. Perfect for a summer night.

This is a fantastic place to go solo, as a couple or with friends. Every staff member knows the wines & beers they serve well and are eager to help you select something you'll enjoy. I went solo on a Saturday night. I opted for the Batender's Choice flight of whites. Liz selected an array of 3 whites that perfectly matched the summer night: - sweet, bubbly Moscato - crisp Italian blend - light viognier Great music was playing, fun people watching & the food looked amazing. (I ate before I arrived, or I would have ordered a cheese board) I measure good service by how often my water glass is refilled - and the staff was top notch! I highly recommend the Wine Lab for a night out, date night, or treat for yourself.

I've been obsessed with the coffee shop across the parking lot, and I finally felt that it was time for me to try fermentation farm. Their kombucha hands-down has been some of the best I've ever had. I tried the famous tuna melt and also got a chicken taco. The food was good, but not great in my opinion. At that price point, there are a lot of nearby places with quality ingredients that taste better. I do love the mission and background of this restaurant. I read up a little bit about how the food is sourced. Consumers are definitely getting quality products here, but sometimes quality doesn't always transfer over as deliciousness. Again, the food was good, but not something that I'm going to be yearning for. I would like to come back and try the chocolate cake that is also very popular and perhaps the Ramen. And of course, another flavor of their delicious kombucha.

Last Saturday, my friends and I hosted a close friend's bridal shower with around 12 guests. We've…read moreseen Charcutereats' previous work and decided to pursue them due to what we thought was quality and presentation. What we got in comparison to that and the pictures displayed on their instagram account is nothing short of a bootleg version. See photos for reference even though the owner will deny and leave a comment generated by ChatGPT. 1. Quality: The two main orders were absolutely sub par and cheap. The bagel spread does not feed up to 12 as advertised and feeds more so around 5 people. We got 6 very dry bagels cut in half, one large cut tomato, maybe half an onion, maybe a quarter of a lemon and spread for maybe one and a half bagels? The ingredients were spread so flat to create an illusion that the serving plate was full. The smoked salmon that we paid extra for was a mere few slices for 3-5 individuals versus the photos that show a decent amount for "up to 12pp." The caprese pasta salad had absolutely no flavor, and was brown from the balsamic vinegar yet gave no flavor and was a mere cold pasta with bits of basel.  2. Expectation: As shown on their social media page and website, the orders come on wooden boards and wooden bowls with some decorative items. What we got instead was a hasty delivery of a flimsy and broken plastic bowl for the pasta -- that had to be thrown out upon putting it out --and a flimsy wooden plate for the lightest bagel spread we've seen that was surely not worth more than $50. 3. Communication: Upon inputting the order and the delivery day, there was no communication. We had to reach out via email and confirm the day before and was met with a different drop off/set up time than initially agreed upon when the order was inputted. We 11:45am since the party was at 12pm, and instead got forced into settling for a 10:30am slot after some back and forth. This is unprofessional for any business that is selling a service. Save yourself the hassle and money and go to Costco and get yourself what you need, because the business is apparently falling apart.

If you want by far the best sandwiches and meats this is the place to be coming to all the time,…read moreand here's why.... No matter what you order this place is just phenomenal and everything is great about it. I used to come here over five years ago when I lived in Newport and now that I moved back I will definitely be coming here a lot more often. I walked in today and met the owner Sean. Extremely cool guy and clearly someone who really understands great food. We started talking and he told me the reason he even bought the place was because the first time he ever came here he ordered the roast beef and was so impressed he ended up buying the restaurant. After hearing that I had to try it! The roast beef sandwich comes with lettuce, onion, tomato, mustard and mayo with your choice of cheese and bread. The meat is piled high and is super tender and moist, and everything tastes fresh. Simple and done right and that's exactly why it works. Next was the Reuben. Corned beef with melted Swiss, sauerkraut and Russian dressing on toasted marble rye. This one is loaded and perfectly balanced. Warm, melty and full of flavor with the bread toasted just enough to hold it together. Honestly one of the best Reubens I've had. Then there's the hot German potato salad. Warm potatoes with a vinegar bite that gives it a really distinct flavor and it was amazing alongside the sandwiches. I love when owners are passionate about their places. Sean is a great guy and I can't wait to come back and try something different or just go for the Reuben again because it really was that good!
