    a display of chocolates

We came across Wine Country Chocolates quite serendipitously. We weren't looking for anything special, but oh did we find something special. Lucky for everyone, they ship, so ordering online is a must for that special person or occasion or when you want to impress. We picked up a few flavors and our boy got some chocolate dipped pretzel sticks. Flavors we purchased; Port (so smooth and heavenly, just like tawny Port) Elvis (peanut butter and banana. Amazingly both flavors come through. Does not disappoint) Cabernet Savignon (Haven't tried yet. Waiting to lose some of this poundage first) We went during the week so there were no crowds and we had the proprietors full attention. She was very kind, patient and helpful. Highly recommend seeking out Wine Country Chocolates on your next trip to the wine country. These will make fun pairings.

Sleeve for 7 selections minus the 3 I ate...

Cute little chocolatier at the end of one of the side alleys around the old Sonoma City Hall area. This store is right across the alley from the Razzle Dazzle Boutique that brought us down this way in the first place. Now I am not usually a fan of these types of stores since I can be happy with a Hersey bar, but this one was good. They have a nice selection of chocolate covered flavors (ie...mint, red velvet, peanut butter, etc) and a number of ways to enjoy. We bought their 7 flavor strip...you pay the same ($14) for any selection of 7 items. Select any 7 and you get a strip packaging them together...easy peasy. Give this place a try. You'll be glad you did. My pictures attached show I already ate 3 of the 7 ... not ashamed. Happy New Year.

Picked up caramel rocky road as it is a family member's favorite so I try to get them from different shops. Cute shop in cute shopping area. Lots more chocolate for the eyes (wish I took a photo of the case). Shop attendant was very friendly.

Wine Country Chocolates are both beautiful and delicious! We celebrated our 17th Anniversary a few days early knowing we are unlikely to be able to publicly dine or enjoy our annual dual New Years Eve celebration. So we socially distanced ourselves by visiting this cozy shop located off Sonoma Square in Sonoma County wine country as a way to support the local economy and local vendors. The Wine Country Chocolate folks were very friendly and inviting as we entered the store. It was a great display of gourmet chocolate from wall to wall without being overwhelming to us. We of had to a variety of beautiful "art crafted" designs and flavors from hazelnuts to cappuccino to apricot to cherry and caramel. Later that evening we enjoyed our Wine Country Chocolates "treasures" with a nice bottle of wine to make for a prefect pairing! We highly recommend seeking out this neighborhood gem next time your are visiting Sonoma County from around the corner or across the globe when it is safe to travel.

This place is small, but offers variety. For a chocolate shop, it is not very inviting. It is dark and has a sad ambiance. But we love trying local handcrafted shops, so we gave it a go! We were greeted by a nice lady (there were only two employees). We got a 7 pieces box. We liked the chocolates in general. The presentation was very minimalistic and the shells lacked the sheen of a perfectly tempered chocolate. They were just "okay", mostly because the fillings could use more flavor depth. We could not taste the main ingredient on most of them. On the ones we did, it was very subtle. The apricot truffle was the only one we really tasted the main ingredient. Probably because it have a piece of dried apricot. Not memorable. But not bad either. A most try when visiting the area. But I am not sure if I will return.

While walking around Sonoma Square with some friends, I saw a sign that says "Chocolate tasting ". Who doesn't want to taste chocolate? So we walked down a small alley way and found a charming chocolate shop. They were offering a taste of Pumpkin Pie chocolate sauce. While looking at the nice selection of chocolates I knew everyone would need a treat. They very nice ladies in the shop assisted us with our requests. I had the coconut and a couple of friends wanted the raspberry and amaretto. Everyone enjoyed their treat. It was $2 a piece which seems the standard price for good chocolate. I will have to try the Wild Strawberry and Creme Brûlée next time. Stop by and check out the wonderful chocolates they have to offer.

Stumbled upon this sweet little chocolate shop and we were not disappointed. The woman working in the shop was so friendly and helpful, we loved chatting with her. Their chocolate samples were so delicious and unique. Take a few minutes and stop by!

My goto dinner spot in Sonoma…read more I actually have been here multiple times and I don't know what has taken me so long to post a review but the Girl and the Fig is definitely the truth. When you enter you'll notice a more homey decor to the place. Warm colors all around and even warmer service once you sit down. Every single experience Ive had here is been nothing less of 110%. Theres always this good balance professionalism with lightheartedness that pair so well for the atmosphere. Because at its core this restaurant is high scale. It definitely has that higher scale vibe but if never comes off as pretentious though. This particular I took my wifey here for our 10th year anniversary together. And we were greeting by a nice little card from the "Fig Family." We ended up trying the Seared Halloumi and I was shocked at how much I liked it. Very light flavors but still enough variety with the crispy spigarello and pine nuts to keep things fun. The lemon never feels too overwhelming. For mains my wife got the Mushroom RisottoI think? Or maybe it was Butternut Squash Risotto? I got the Fig Burger and both were amazing. The only reason I didn't get her Risotto was simply because I already had it at lunch time, but that still didn't stop me from taking a bite. Each rice like grain had a perfect chew and flavor to each bite. Even being the picky person that I am with veggies, I appreciated the veggies addition to the dish. I still think though that the sure winner was my Fig Burger. This burger is everything we wish our local breweries burger was. A harmonic balance between salty and sweet. Im down to get a little crazy with burgers but if it's too sweet, it kinda loses the appeal for me. It takes away too much from the burgers roots. So yea. Go here. Make reservations too. I know for myself I made mine about a month in advance so it's hard to say how hard it is to get a table here. But hopefully it's not too bad. Parking by the way is just street parking. Despite that Ive always been able to get a park on W Spain St right before I pull up to the restaurant. OH! And thanks again Girl and the Fig family! You made the end to our anniversary quite magical!

An easy 4-minute walk from Vallejo House, Salumeria Ovello is owned by Andrea, who is a Michelin-star chef from the area of Piedmont, Italy. Having been to Italy twice this past year alone, I remember quite well the quality and taste of the classed Italian Sandwiches. The worker who served at the counter was very helpful, and within the restaurant --- there are just a few seats. I'd say, 3 tables with two seats at each table. For my food, I decided to order the Massimo --- which is on "sliced Focaccia, and has sun dried tomatoes, stracciatella di burrata, prosciutto cotto, basil pesto and crumbled taralli (crackers)". Each sandwich is made fresh-to-order, and you can taste the quality. Each ingredient worked together in harmony, and to satisfy the americani in me, I definitely enjoyed the taralli in the sandwich --- reminded me of putting chips in my sandwiches in school. While I waited, Andrea also brought out some slices of salami for me to try --- free of charge, which was very kind of him to do.
