He really knows computers and I am happy to have someone I can trust with any computer needs I may have. He takes the time to explain what he's done and how to understand it. As a college student, I rely on my computer greatly and I was hoping Windy River Computers could help me fix my MacBook Pro. Instead of fixing it, It ended up broken and not evening working anymore. I calmly tried to resolve the problem with the owner, but he did not even admit that he broke it and wanted to charge me to fix what he broke. By this time, I was upset and trying to find a way to get my school assignments from my computer. When I asked the owner why my screen was not working, he said that he "touched a cord and the screen stopped working." But since he did a FULL DIAGNOSIS on my computer, he should have seen that something was wrong with my computer and should have stopped. Any professional would have stopped what they were doing and called me to tell me that if he continues, there could be a high risk of something going wrong. I never got a phone call until days after and he told me that he spent days trying to fix it but nothing got resolved. And he continued to install the piece anyways without telling me about the risks. I called around other stores that fix computers and they told me that he should have stopped and I should have been contacted. Now, I have a broken laptop that I have to fix. I would have respected the owner more if he admitted to breaking my laptop and found a way to fix it. I would recommend going somewhere else with your apple products. Also, the receptionist wasn't that nice either, even after all of this, she had an attitude. I wish in the future he will be more professional and take more responsibility. We as college students are already struggling to pay for classes we don't need someone breaking our computers and just saying "I wish I could do more" and "situations like this rarely occur" read more

I typically don't make any reviews... unless they are GREAT or EEK!! Unfortunately for Windy River Computers... This one is a EEK!! Attention Friends in the Gorge: I have to share this with you. Last week we took a brand new computer and an old computer to Windy River Computers in Hood River to transfer all data from the old computer to the new computer. This is an easy job right? Well, those dumb people cleaned up "for mice" the NEW computer (coming out of the box) and didn't transfer anything from the Old computer. When I say they cleaned up... Boy... they UNINSTALLED tons of software the computer came with, even a brand new software of MS Office and Photoshop I personally installed. You can't believe my dismay....I am, besides angry, I am concerned to know what else they "cleaned up". Please friends and friends's friends... Don't go there. We ended up paying $160 for their "time and efforts".. A brand new computer with "No Memory" and and Old computer with a "corrupted system". This is exactly what a DUMB person would do... the opposite of what a customer really wants and needs... read more

We have been using Perry at Windy River for at least 5 years for all of our computer needs. He is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate about what he does. We have bought two computers from him and use him on a regular basis if/when we have any questions about anything computer related.
