I needed something notarized, and this was the only public place I could find with notary services in the entire Columbia River Gorge, so I came here. It took a few hours to track down the notary, who seemed to be on some kind of flexible schedule. But, once we were finally both in the same building at the same time, it went really smoothly. "Paying someone to verify that you are the person in your ID photo so that you can get a birth certificate to get a new ID even though you already went through this whole entire process when you got your driver's license in the first place is so much fun!" -no one, ever At least it only took a few minutes, and he only charged me $10. The documents that he notarized for me were accepted by the county clerk the same day. Everyone who I interacted with was friendly, and the store didn't seem to be too overcrowded as compared to some experiences I've had with UPS stores in the Sacramento area. read more

Don't select this location for Amazon pick up unless you want to pay a $5 per amazon package "handling fee." I am traveling from Idaho to Hood River and selected this location for my Amazon pick up. When I got there I was told they got the delivery but they might not get it sorted until tomorrow! I needed my item that day for a medical device. They did finally give me my order but charged me a $5 per amazon package for "handling." I had 2 packages so I had to give them $10 for them to release my packages to me. I travel frequently and have never run into a handling charge when I have selected a pick up location for my Amazon packages. I paid the fee and reported to Amazon. read more

I overheard that part of the staff had to leave due to illness, leaving the owner Brad alone to handle the situation. It would easy for him to have a negative attitude given the workload. But he was as positive and friendly as always! Processing the packages, answering questions, and helping his customers with quick efficient skill. He knows his business, and how to create a professional positive vibe for his customers. It was impressive. Anyone can perform in ideal situations, but few can raise the bar in difficult ones. In Dec 2019, we arranged for a painting to be shipped out of state from a gallery in Hood River, which was packaged and shipped from this Hood River UPS store. This UPS store did a very poor job of packaging the painting for shipping, even though we paid over $200 for the service. They have subsequently been unresponsive to the gallery's repeated attempts to understand what can be done to rectify this situation. I had a great experience here today. I needed to ship hiking poles back home. They're not the folding kind, and there's no standard box to fit them. The gentleman at the store measured them, grabbed a shipping tube (they stuck out the end), and found another cut portion of s shipping tube to fit right over it. Really clever, and much cheaper than shipping from Portland last year, when they built a box for them. I admit to being hesitant to come here given the single negative review, but when I looked closely, it matched the characteristics that usual makes YELP software ignore reviews (i.e. No other reviews ever done by the person), and some other sites had multiple positive reviews for the place. It's in the same shipping center as Rosauer's (closer to Walgreens), with easy parking and convenient hours. Staff was friendly and I thought they were really helpful. By the way. I was given a receipt detailing all the charges, along with tracking info. I didn't have to ask - and that's been standard at all UPS stores I've shipped from. read more

Stole from me ??? After laying my great aunt to rest we had a few small family heirlooms we needed shipped home. It had been a rough three days. We had some picture albums and some frame photos, an American flag that was my uncle's when he passed away. My aunt had left some small trinkets in the form of jewelry for my daughter. It wasn't expensive jewelry by any means most of it was costume there was a couple of very small diamond earrings and a small diamond pendant but for the most part it was all costume jewelry. The folks at the UPS store helped us package everything up and it was sent via ground. Unfortunately when the box got home there was one thing missing. The bag that held the jewelry. We called the store knowing that there's probably nothing they could or would do about the situation and that what's been done is done. It's not the fact that it was worth all that much, it's that some family heirlooms have probably been hocked off for a couple hundred bucks. I take full responsibility in the fact that I should have kept those items with me. And my complacency in not being more diligent to the depravity our society has come to is my downfall. I do all my shipping business with them. I have them package a ton of custom made glass artwork ranging from $500 to $27k. I have been letting them package my very fragile work for years. My customers say they get my work and it's packaged like it's indestructible. I always laugh when they say that to me.
