I ended up scheduling the installation just before Christmas, thanks to an unusually warm winter. The entire process was smooth and efficient: I chose the finish, got on the schedule (they were booked about a month out), and waited for installation day. On the day of the install, the team worked quickly and professionally. I was able to work from home without any disruption -- they were that unobtrusive. The only minor downside was the smell from the chemicals, which is expected with epoxy but worth noting. I worked next to the garage, and the smell was intense. Now, over seven months later, I couldn't be happier. The floors still look great, are easy to clean, and most importantly, they're not slippery at all. I'm delayed writing this, but I hired Windy City to do my garage floor. They were great at scheduling, and quick to do the work. Unfortunately, after the first application, I noticed some marks of stuff that had fallen on the covering. They were really great, and said they'd get it fixed a few days later. Then again, due to moisture in my garage floor (new construction), the coating peeled up in a spot. Jeff was really great at understanding and coming back out again to have the entire square recovered even though it wasn't there fault. Windy City Coating installed a beautiful quartz floor in our 3-car garage. Jeff, one of the owners, came out to quote our job. I had some specific questions on how they prep the floor, and what types of material is used for the top coat. Jeff is very knowledgable and answered all my questions. No high pressure sales here. Jeff provided a detailed written quote and explained their 25-year residential warranty against yellowing and delamination. Windy City wasn't the cheapest quote I received, but in comparison to the other companies, I felt confident Windy City would get the job done right. Our floor installation was a 3-day process. Day-1 was grinding and a tinted primer coat of epoxy and a quartz broadcast. Grinding dust was really kept to a minimum with the equipment and vacuum system they used. Day-2 was a coat of clear epoxy with another quartz broadcast. Day-3 was a polyaspartic top coat. Chris, Jeff's brother and co-owner, was on the installation crew for days 2 & 3. Chris is a great guy and I felt reassured, from a quality control perspective, having Chris on the job site. Jeff and Chris provided clear communication throughout the job. They communicated the start time and scope of work for each day. There were no surprises. I had my garage floor done by Windy City in 2018. I am just now doing a review because my neighbor asked who did the floor and I gave them the info. I had to call multiple places before I could find an installer that would add GLITTER FLAKE into the mix. And Windy City did it!! There is a close up shot, but it is amazing in dim light.Looks like a sparkling ocean at night. The floor is so unique and sparkly that everyone has asked me about it. When I moved into my new home a few months ago, I knew I wanted to have the unfinished basement painted. I got the names of some painters from Home Depot, and one of them came to the house to have a look. He said he didn't do this type of work, but one of his clients had his garage done and the result was beautiful. So, I called Chris from Windy City Coating. He responded quickly, came out to my home, and gave me all of the options along with pictures of jobs that had been completed. I just wanted a clean space, which he understood, so he didn't try to upsell me. He said it would be a few weeks as his schedule was full, but gave me a date and a few days before, he called to set up the work. Chris and his men arrived, on time, the morning of the job and they worked until 6p.m. to prep, prime, and prepare the floor for the epoxy paint. The next morning they came to put the top coat on and told me to give it 24 hours to dry. A few days later I called to say that it looked uneven in some spots, so Chris came back on that Saturday to take a look and he decided put another complete coat on the floor. It looks great!
