We lived here a few years ago. We were super excited to live in such a beautiful complex. But like…read moreothers have said, we didn't notice the downside until a few months in. You do get an amazing view, but you can't open any windows; so yes, you're stuck with the AC being on 24/7. ALSO, if the power goes out, you have no other source of ventilation/cooling. As others have said, the walls are stupidly thin. We were in a unit about a nightclub/bar, I think it was called Scarlet's? Anyways, despite being over 20 floors up, we could HEAR the music, people yelling, etc. Not just that, the unit next to me, had a domestic dispute, so I heard them arguing and then one of them kicking the front door in. Our unit was also missing some vanity fixtures, and despite being there for a year, we never received them. The fire alarms kept going off, so it was impossible to tell if it was a real emergency situation or just mechanical/electrical error. The parking is also small and expensive for you (as the tenant). It's also expensive for visitors as there is no visitor parking, so my family/friends wouldn't visit often despite us being in a prime, beautiful location. We also had an issue with management and an incident that happened on property. A tenant had gotten into a confrontation with my husband in the elevator, then proceeded to vandalize his car and threaten us. PS - my child was with my husband and in the car as this person punched and hit my husband's car with a parking cone. We even had police escort us home as we were afraid that this individual would actually come after our family. Anyways, management did little to ease our worries. The most we got was that the tenant had moved out of the building, we heard he moved to the 9th island.

Renter Buyers Beware! I'm a current renter at Honolulu Tower…read moreand over the past year there has been plumbing issues where the hot water is spotty to non-existent and has gotten extremely bad since September 2024. Over 90% of the days there was no hot water. The manager Idor does not seem to care nor give timely updates on the progress of the fix and the HOA managers do not care as the issue doesn't affect their top floor apartments. Additionally, there is a fire alarm and sprinkler issue that hasn't been resolved and instead of informing the residents in a building wide announcement the Management only posts a piece of paper next to the fire alarm systems.

Normally theres three but sometimes get down to 1 which is frustrating if you live on high floors. Its a block from fire station so loud midnight sirens aren't unusual. Chinatown is pretty vibrant and isn't for everyone. You'll see a lot of people struggling on the street which can be heartbreaking. but never feels unsafe to me. People drive like jerks getting in and out of parking garage. Not super convenient bike parking.

This what seems to be the standard condominium conveniently located just right outside of downtown is not what it seems, though invited as a guest I can't comment on the living conditions but know just from the amenities that it must be a lovely spot to call home. From what many will read of the security and how strict they are can be somehow frustrating though the need to feel safe should be the priority for many and though arriving as a first timer understanding the process really wasn't that complicated and actually appreciate knowing you can feel safe. Once I check with security and gave them the necessary information what's on the 8th floor was something that I've never expected to see as if I was transported to a location in Japan as it was a massive koi pond with several islands of grilling station with sinks with tennis courts and a huge party room that all seems to be sitting on the koi pond was just so impressive. The party room was quite large and seem to be able to hold 20-30 people quite easily with a kitchen area making it an amazing place to celebrate your occasion. Thank you for sharing this lovely place and what a cool vibe that I could've sat forever just chilling by the waterfall to unwind and relax after a long day, I'm so thankful to have enjoyed this opportunity with others. I have owned at the Town House for nearly five years now and absolutely love the building. I'm…read moremilitary and no longer live in Hawaii at the moment (though I hope to return next year!), but have been able to charge a significantly higher than average rent for the area due to both the building location/amenities as well as my specific unit design/improvements. Pros: 1) Great building that is secured with a security team and has daily grounds upkeep/cleaning. You would never guess that the building was built when it was as the board has taken care of both the exterior and interior of the building. The building insulation is wonderful between units and I have NEVER heard my neighbors, regardless of the time of day, and my unit is adjacent to units whose owners have young children. 2) Great location. Only a few blocks from the Blaisdale Center and the trendy Kaka'ako neighborhood, about a mile from the beach and Ward Center, a two minute drive to the new Whole Foods in town, adjacent to Chinatown, 15 minute drive from the airport, and right on the freeway for easy access to start your commute for the day. You really close to all that city-living has to offer by living at the Town House. 3) Great amenities and views. Adding somewhat to number 1, the building amenities include water, sewage, basic cable, and 24/7 security (all are included in the monthly HOA fees); wonderful rooftop pool and recreation area; wonderful views to include the city, ocean, diamond head and mountains that you can take advantage of with the floor to ceiling windows in every unit; etc. Cons: As much as I'd like to give any building that I own in a 5 star rating, I will not mislead the public as it is not honest and ultimately would be a disservice to owners and renters alike. That said, there are some cons to living at the Town House. 1) Parking. Parking absolutely sucks in this neighborhood once the evening rush starts. Considering that there are only 5-6 guest parking spots and that each unit generally comes with one assigned parking (though there are some gems with two and some with one spot large enough to fit two smaller cars, the lack of neighborhood parking can be a pain if you have two cars or are having guests over. 2) City noise pollution. Living in the city will never be truly "quiet." While I have never had a problem with noise issues from my neighbors, the building does sit over the freeway, so that can be an issue if you want to have your lanai doors open (with the doors closed, the freeway noise isn't really a problem for me and I'm even used to the freeway noise with the lanai doors open, but it's really up to the individual). Granted, I think this will be more of a problem the higher up in the building you are, as the lower floors benefit from being closer to ground level sound barriers enclosing the freeway. All in all, I'm very happy to own at the Town House and look forward to living there again soon.

Install cameras in your unit!…read more As another reviewer stated, this place has a history of theft. My condo was burglarized while I was overseas with my wife. Whether the lock was picked or a key was used is unclear, but we had nearly $15,000 worth of items stolen. Security said, "That's crazy. I don't know if I have ever heard of a theft here." It turns out, we were the third burglary in this building in 11 months. While I have no concrete evidence, echoing the other reviewer, I have my suspicions that building security might just open your unit when you're not there. The old, smooth brained, short security guard who mostly works in the morning is one of the rudest and most difficult people I've dealt with. He seems to power trip on his security position and is just a pain to deal with at any time. The building manager, Noli, is incompetent. Trying to get a simple piece of information or assistance from him turns into a 20-minute phone call where he tells you that you're not understanding what he's saying, only to finally explain it at the end. It's like having a conversation with a 5-year-old. This building was honestly pretty great for the 4 years we lived there, but after the burglaries, I wouldn't advise anyone to live here. They also installed a new fire alarm system with loudspeakers in every unit that constantly go off for no reason. It will be set off at least once or twice a month, and it takes security or the manager 25 minutes to turn it off, during which time it's just blasting in your unit.
