The farm wasn't open during our visit but we did get to check out their shop which had a lot of maple syrup, apples, and apple products. My friend bought a pint of their apple cider and when we tried it later that day we were really amazed by how crisp and refreshing it was. I bought a single apple cider donut for us to try and it was really soft and lovely, as well as some New Hampshire Maple Syrup. I learned that maple syrup from New Hampshire and Vermont have very distinct tastes so I'm curious to do a taste test at home!

We tried one each of the available doughnuts: Plain, cinnamon sugar, and maple drizzle. All were fresh and warm and well worth the maybe 20-25 minute wait (and there was a guy singing/playing guitar for us, which was nice!). The dough was light and fluffy, rather than dense and cake-like, which was a positive for me. Our favorite was the maple drizzle, which wasn't overly sweet and added a nice subtle maple flavor. I also liked the cinnamon sugar, though it was quite sweet! The plain was good as it stripped away the accoutrements and allowed me to enjoy the crunch of the doughnut "crust".

C had making it to a real apple orchard in New Hampshire on her list of must do while we were this far north. We were there in mid October and it was right at the end of the season it seemed. This place has so many treats and fresh produce to choose while you are here. Oddly enough, the best thing I got from here in my opinion was the local beef jerky! So good!! I wish I had more right now! The orchard itself was pretty cool. I'd never seen so many apples. Most of the trees were full of fruit with apples all over the ground. I guess they must yield more than they can use because the shop was full and they had open tours where you could go and pick your own apples. There were tons of varieties of trees on the farm. Lots of other produce is available here too. It appeared to be a complete working farm. The landscape was gorgeous as it's nestled on a sloping hill where you can see for miles it seems. The shopkeepers were super nice and we purchased a few things. A flight in a couple of days back home prohibited us from getting too many things. The upper rack is for half a dozen and you can find a dozen on the second rack. You can find all kinds of baked goods - pie, bread, muffin, cake.... Produce is all the way at the end and they sell fresh eggs for decent price! Don't be discouraged with the long line, they go quickly. If you have young kids, there are chickens and sheep outside. Not sure what they are called but there are four fake horse thingy to ride.

As usual, I arrived with my clients, politely said hello and stated I was there to take photos by the Christmas trees. Christine (whom I had never met) said nothing about rules or purchase requirements and explicitly told me I could take photos. Afterward, my clients warmed up with their baby in the car and planned to cut a tree, but Christine assumed we weren't buying anything and escalated the situation for no reason. I left with my clients down the hill to take a few last shots and as I was getting into my car, Christine brought her husband Mike down in his truck to "scare me off". They flew past me, tried to block me from leaving the road, yelled at me to "never be seen on the property again," and accused me of "taking photos without buying anything" as if that were a crime. It was aggressive, threatening and completely unprofessional. This is a farm open to the public - visitors are NOT required to make a purchase just for stepping onto the property. If they have rules for photos, they can communicate them like adults instead of resorting to intimidation and theatrics. I won't be returning (for my own safety), and others should think twice before giving them business. If you do visit, apparently you'd better buy something immediately, since that seems to be their unspoken rule.
