We took our nephew to Patch Orchards. Not only did we enjoy the Cider but also the spectacular view. We took home apples, Cider and hard cider!

Maple creemee and a great view!

This place has amazing views, great snacks, and fun apple picking! They sell apples in their farmstand for $15 per half-bushel. You can also grab a bag and pick your own for $26 per half-bushel. They have another smaller-sized pick your own bag. I loved browsing the various pickled items, syrups, candies, ciders, and hard ciders they had in the farmstand. Everything was reasonably priced (I was tempted to get a gallon of their cider for $5). Their hot cider ($2) is nicely spiced and full of apple flavor without being overwhelmingly sweet. Their maple creemees ($2) are really tasty! I ended up picking up some four-packs of their cider ($10) as well. There are two variations-- the "mac 'n ida" is tart, crisp, and dry, while the "hint of maple" is a bit sweeter. The orchard mostly had galas, macs, and cortlands left to pick in mid-October. The trees were labeled at the end of each row and they seemed well-maintained-- there were inevitably some apples on the ground but the grass seemed pretty clean.

Beautiful views and picnic tables to enjoy donuts!

Tried their cider at a food truck festival and were happy to find that the orchard was not too far from Lebanon. The crisp cider with just the right amount of tart convinced us to visit right away! The views from the orchard are absolutely beautiful and they have picnic tables there also! We got some apple cider donuts with cinnamon sugar and they were perfect to enjoy with the view. It was hard to stop eating them! Their store also has a lot of other products like apple butter, jam, maple syrup and pickles! We grabbed a jar of dill pickles and they had superb flavor and I can't wait to put some on my next sandwich.

Great apples! Picked up half a peck for apple crisp. The Macintosh apples were nice and crisp.

Best produce anywhere! The veggies and fruits are beautiful and delicious and all grown locally…read more The bedding plants and flowers are great as well - the Killdeer perennials I've planted always look gorgeous and are much healthier than plants from other nurseries. The carrots are especially awesome, but they also have perfect tomatoes, the best corn ever, great arugula, mixed greens etc. Strawberries and blueberries are amazing as well. They also have cheeses, milk, local meats, baked goods - if I lived in the upper valley I would do almost all my grocery shopping at Killdeer. No need to shop elsewhere!

Update: Killdeer has raised prices significantly since my review. So I mostly shop elsewhere now…read more Killdeer is still good for the occasional purchase -- but has priced itself out of the "everyday essentials" category, and into the "luxury novelty" and "tourist trap" categories. So, a half star off for mediocre value. Another half star off for business practices, based on Killdeer's sanctimonious statements trying to justify their policy of importing foreign workers from poor countries to do their farm labor, instead of hiring local workers. Come on guys, you import foreign laborers for one reason: to maximize corporate profit. There is no difference between what you do, and what mid-western meat-packing plants do. And that's okay -- I feel Killdeer is entitled to hire whoever they want, as long as it's legal. But I resent the Karl Rove-ian style "Clear Skies" doublespeak spin.
