Crappy service, anytime it rains internet goes out, same when it snows. My router wouldn't work so they sent me a new one, in the instructions it said they'd mail me a shipping label to return the broken one. I never received the shipping label. Now I have a $49 from harris and harris Ltd on my credit report! I called windstream and they are sending me a shipping label but threatened me by saying if I dont send it back within 30days it will be an additional $100 non return fee. First of all, it took 2 men about 4 hours to set up my wifi service. after they left, i went into my basement to see my floor and yoga mat looking trashed. i was very curious on why when they were upstairs in the living space, they wore slippers, but when in my basement, they wore muddy boots, and if that wasn't enough, there's more. then i remembered a rug that i had laying out at the bottom of my basement steps was missing, when i looked behind a few boxes, i found it rolled up into a ball, when i unrolled it, it was completely ruined and covered in dirt and mud. it was stained and ruined. the rug was 2 days old. when i called costumer service, they did nothing at all for me. i wanted to cancel my subscription right then. so unhappy. read more

called to set up a basic phone line for a 95 yr old in a nursing home. This has become a complete nightmare! I would say we have had about 10 to 12 calls to get this set up and that is not including text messages. Multiple callls to "to save us money" that was a joke! We just needed basic phone line as she cannot use a computer. Here it is two months later, and more calls and the very incompetent employee(s) have set up two accounts. Remember this is a basic phone line only. More calls and now we have been refunded and we down to just one account. Nope, not Done yet, we just received yet another incorrect invoice. More calls tomorrow! Windstream/kinetac you have got to do better, train your people or get some with a brain. Unfortunately, this is the only service to the nursing home and because of hearing loss she cannot use a cell phone. if I could I would avoid this incompetent company at all cost. read more

This company not only gives horrible service, they actually steal money from customers. We live in an area where there is one cable to service the entire street. The technician told me the cable is so old and outdated it CANT supply us with high speed internet. Windstream refuses to replace it yet still charges us all for high speed. They knowingly scam us all every month. I pay $115 a month for service that is so slow we cant even have more than one device using it at a time and even then we get around 1 Mps. (We are paying for 10 Mps.) It goes out constantly and you cant get them to even respond to calls for days or even weeks. By far the worst company I've ever dealt with. Dont use them if you can avoid it. They are liars and will scam you out of money for service they have no intention of providing. read more

I have been with them way too many years, I have called them more than my own friends for repairs. My internet keeps dropping and end up with no service. They are very unprofessional and unreliable. I am kicking this to the curb. Windstream is a joke! read more

Several years ago I became fed up with the expensive and poor internet service that I was receiving from Comcast. The only other local alternative was Windstream so I called them up and was amazed at the savings that they offered over Comcast. The deal was that I would be paying fifty bucks a month for a 12 mb connection and that the rate would never go up. This sounded too good to be true but I figured so what and switched over to Windstream. The speed of my connection was just as good, if not better, than comcast and my monthly bill was much cheaper. All in all I was totally satisfied and let my friends know how happy I was with Windstream. A year or so ago my bill went up 5 dollars and if I hadn't been told that my bill would never go up, I would have just paid it. But they told me that my bill would never go up! I hate when people lie to me--Ijust feel so let down! So I called them up and asked what was up with this and they denied ever saying that my bill would never go up. Sheeez. Now it just went up another 5 bucks and even tho they knocked the increase off it's only for one year. My point here is that I was satisfied before the "lifetime rate" was even brought up--why did they have to go and do that? The service is better than comcast and less expensive, so I would have been completely satisfied, but then they had to go and make an impossible promise which it only took them a year to renege on. I tried to get Windstream at my place, it took about 3 months for them to send someone out then they could not even find me at the transfer switch. The technician worked for about 4-5 hours tracing the signal and and could not find where it went. Even then there idea of high speed internet was at the most 3Mbps download speed. Windstream does not care about its customers. I would be willing to bet if Fios or Xfinity provided the coverage Windstream would go out of business. read more

Honestly, if I could give 0 stars I would. No notification that the installer would not be coming until I called. The installer never even set foot on my porch, no note and no voicemail even though they supposedly did. I wish there were more options for internet. Horrible experience. read more

I agree with the previous review.... if I could give it 0 stars I would. They have the WORST customer service. I took me over 2 months... of being rescheduled 6 different times and taking off work to get internet installed. It's sad that they are a monopoly in the area. I would definitely shop elsewhere if I had a choice!!!! They also quote you a price and then you get a bill and its $50 higher than what they quote you. read more
