So, I have been wearing Torrid since I was 20 years old (incidentally they were closing ths tote I…read morediscovered and had to order their clothing online for years). I also wear Lane Bryant. Torrid tends to be trendy clothing, at one point was "young" but they have expanded their brand to work clothing, lounge, every demographic. They have also expanded their sizes over the years to be more inclusive (I believe they go from 10-30). So, to me, they cut their clothing short and curvy. For me, the shirts fit me well but the pants don't always (but I will be havent tried lately). So, I do love the clothing, but this store is Eh.... I was here last year and the staff were welcoming and nice. My last visit was no welcoming and Nikki was rude. She was condescending and just ignorant of other brands and plus size clothing general. Honestly, I will just order online.

Let me start by saying that I am a regular Shopper of this brand. On a recent trip to New York, I…read morefound the absolute perfect pair of pants but didn't have time to try them on and was eager to get back to a location close to home to do just that. The other locations that I've been to over the years always have excellent customer service. So the bar is set high and has been consistently met. I love that they use your name when you go to the fitting room and are always helpful to find other sizes once you are in there. On this particular occasion, I was shopping with my double stroller and two babies, on a mission to find this one particular style of pants I had seen at the store in New York. When I arrived, I didn't receive a greeting from either of the two Associates working. I browsed around the front of the store for a bit before moving to the Middle where I saw the pants that looked like the ones I'd come in search of. As I browsed the racks, I didn't see my size but was eager to try the style so I grabbed the size larger than what I normally wear and began to look around for help to get let into a fitting room. It took maybe two minutes for someone to acknowledge me and let me in. Once I was back there I quickly discovered that the pants were not going to work. Based on my experience at other locations, I waited for someone to come back to ask how I was doing and if I needed to exchange sizes. However my waiting was in vain. I did not want to get dressed again and go back into the store when I already knew that the size was not on the floor. Again I had a double stroller and babies and was trying to make this quick purchase as soon as possible. I waited around for another two minutes in the fitting room and no one came to assess. So I got dressed and went up to the register, where the 2 associates were standing and talking to each other. I had to interrupt their conversation to ask if there were any other sizes in the back because this one didn't fit. Once she told me no, there was no attempt to offer me something different or even ask what I was looking for or see if they had that at another location. Instead, I was just forced to leave the store without what I've been so desperately waiting for and no attempt to sell me anything else. It was incredibly disappointing and very uncharacteristic of the experiences I've had that other Torrids around the country.

Prior to visiting the store I researched it after being told about it from a coworker. I read all…read morethe brands they take and made sure that most of my items I packed were those brands besides a few things. I first visited the store on a Saturday around 6. I was told they were out of cash and to come back tomorrow around 11 when they open. Before I left my house the next day I called and asked if they had cash they said no the banks are closed they can't get cash. (Makes sense) They said to come Monday or Tuesday. Monday I go and they tell me to fill out the yellow paper, provide ID and leave my stuff. I ask them the process of everything because what do you mean provide ID and leave my stuff. They say we need your Id number for in store paperwork which made me feel very uncomfortable as I didn't see any signs or anything online asking for that. However I proceed to fill it out. I then ask what's the next step after leaving it. (This should be explained upon Initial contact without me asking) I make it down and back one aisle before they tell me they can't take anything because it's more clothing made for women versus teens. Now I have a huge basket of clothing, there's no way the young lady made it halfway through my basket. I had about 10 dresses that could be used for homecoming, graduation etc. What's even more confusing is I had champion, Nike, lulu, Michael Kors, Fashion Nova, Adidas etc. I also had a lot of SHEIN which she said they don't take yet it's listed on the website. Now I know I'm not a teen but I work at a high school and what the kids wear there on a daily is what I wear on my days off ! The whole interaction and communication just wasn't professional nor comfortable.

Their clothing selection is dismal and it's so packed together that you can hardly even look at…read moreanything. The people that work there don't pay any attention to the customers don't offer help or ask if you're looking for anything in particular they just gossip up at the front of the store. Also, they pay no money for clothing. They'll give you $.30 for a $200 pair of jeans. It's almost criminal.
