Went in there today with an appt. My daughters sitter bailed so we had to take my grandson. Woman there said I guess as long as he sits on your lap the whole time. Then she proceeded to explain to me how to keep my grandson in check. On top of that they were so rude to my daughter, I guess because she's not a size 6. Shame on you for making a new bride cry on a day she was going to go look for her wedding dress. Horrible customer service, rude and when I posted in X they somehow deleted it. That goes a long way with me, i am particular in what I'm looking for and if I don't see it I don't see it. I don't like being swayed into something else and they were so amazing about that. I spent 374 dollars on a dress that doesn't fit. I'm usually a size 8 or so and I understand dresses probably run small, but the dress I was given is a size 20 and the sides are extremely loose, the boob area is so low it is down by where my stomach is supposed to be, and the dress is so incredibly long I'm stepping all over it and that's even with heels on. I don't understand the point in having a dress custom made and us being measured and ordered and paying that amount of money to be sent something that looks like a curtain. I am not paying for alterations for that thing either. I already paid enough for it to wear it once. Also the dress was supposed to cost more than that, but we got a discount bc the dress took way longer than it should have. So this was just an all around disaster, and the belt that came with it doesn't fit either. read more

I started my bridal dress search at Matina's. I was so pleased with the attentiveness and expertise that Kelly provided. I really felt that I received the "Kleinfeld" experience which was what I was looking for. It was explained that pricing for the dresses started around $1500 and went all of the way up to $8000. There were several options to try and I appreciated that Kelly was able to narrow down exactly what would look great on me. Will forever regret getting my wedding dress and 12 HP bridesmaid dresses here. The staff is extremely rude and extremely disorganized ( if you check the reviews, that opinion is very consistent). Multiple of my bridesmaids were told they were not in my wedding party and were also told to choose wrong bridesmaid dress colors on multiple occasions. I could really go on and on about my terrible experience- starting from the moment I purchased my dress to when I walked out and had to go search for a new seamstress a month before my wedding, but I will keep it short. Everyone was super sweet and patient as I tried on dress after dress and even some dresses twice. I never felt pressured to speed up or buy anything. I had a good experience at Matina's. They have a nice selection of dresses and the one I found was perfect for me. Julie was accommodating of all circumstances. Mira exudes a sense of calm with all alterations and processes. I had many additions and customizations and Mira completed all of them beautifully and with confidence. Worst experience! I wish I could give no stars. I was treated badly by Julie and had a very unpleasant conversation that left me in tears and feeling bad about my body. The rest of the staff that was in there was not friendly either. I went to Matina's as a bridesmaid and tried on the sample dress. I was able to zip it all the way up no problem and the top fit well, but it was tight round the bottom so I knew I would have to go up a size or 2 because there was no extra fabric to let it out. I understand that the sizing for these type of dresses is never accurate so I wasn't too concerned with the number. What I didn't expect was being told to order a dress 5 sizes bigger than the sample I zipped up. When I questioned her she called the seamstress over who took me back in the dressing room and made me strip down to my bra and panties (which I was pretty uncomfortable with) and she said I was measured wrong and needed 6 sizes bigger than the sample. I was very uncomfortable with the whole situation and went home feeling very uneasy about my order. This also put me into the bigger sizes that have an extra fabric fee tacked on. After talking to another seamstress at a different bridal shop and getting her advice I called Matina's to change the size of my dress. When I called I was asked my name and put on hold. Julie then picked up the phone and immediately had an attitude with me and asked why I was calling. I said I wanted to change the size of the dress I ordered. She flat out REFUSED to change my order and told me that it was very insulting to her that I was questioning her and that this is her life's work. She then told me that I was heavy on the bottom and that I was going to look awful in the dress and if I tried to sit down I would rip the dress. She also threw in my face that she should have charged me more for the extra fabric which I had not even brought up in our phone conversation. At this point I was too upset to argue any further and hung up. I now have an expensive bridesmaid dress that is way too big all around and will have to spend more money to have the entire dress altered from top to bottom. I am appalled that any business would treat its customers this way. There are 12 bridesmaid in the wedding party. That is a significant amount of business we were bringing in and all the bridesmaids were unhappy with the service they had received. read more

I got my wedding gown from Matina's and can't say enough wonderful things about the lovely ladies that work there! From scheduling my appointment, shopping for THE dress, fittings and picking out my accessories, Julie was so incredible, kind and patient with me. Mira did my alterations and my dress fit perfectly! I purchased my jewelry, hair piece and veil there as well and couldn't be happier! My bridesmaids also got their dresses from Matina's and we had a blast shopping and finding the best dresses for each of them. My experience here was terrible! I had an appointment. When I walked in the woman said "Do you know exactly what you want, because I don't have time for you to try on 20 dresses." As if that was not enough, when I found a dress I liked, I asked a friend to take a picture and was yelled at screaming "no pictures!! NEVER!." when I told her I needed to show people in my life, she said I could facetime, but the only person I can facetime with is my mother, because she is all that matters! Really? Then after having the dress on for 2 minutes she said "ok, you done yet? ready to take it off?" I would NEVER go back there. The dresses are overpriced, all looked the same, and the service was aweful! I do NOT recommend this place! read more

Do not waste your time! I was looking forward to go dress shopping here. I did my research and was intrigued by the designers they carried. They also had a trunk show that day so it seemed like a plus. First of all, when it comes to the dresses they have a small collection, even with the trunk show the collection was small. Second, the dress selection was unimpressive given the designers they carried. To be honest, the dresses seem dated, typical, unexciting, and for a older woman on her second marriage. The Matina's dress selection was not even the worst part of the experience. The service was absolutely horrible. From the minute we walked into the door, they were rude, condescending, and uninviting. I did not even want to try dresses. We were in and out in 15 minutes. Even if I would have liked a dress, there was no way I would have purchased it there. If your in the area, check out nordstorm's bridal suite. It is small but they can transfer in dresses for you from the designers they carry. Even with a small collection they had a variety of dress to suit all likes and there were the latest and greatest from the designers. The staff were very nice and welcoming. read more

I am quite stunned by these other bad reviews. I didn't buy my dress at Matinas, but they performed my alterations and I also bought my accessories (veil, belt, and hair piece) with them and I couldn't have been happier. I purchased my wedding gown on-line (monique lhuillier) for an amazing price, but it had a weird "couture" neckline (i had a love-hate relationship with it until I realized it wasn't good for my body type) and was too big. The dress was of course all intricate lace as well as horse-hair at the neckline and I was wondering how anyone would be able to make it into the dress I envisioned (we actually highly considered trying to sell it ourselves and just buying a new dress from scratch). But Mira who does alterations was able to create the PERFECT dress for me -- the neckline, bodice, and overall fit was amazing. She listened to all of our concerns (my mom and I -- we often had differing opinions!) and was extremely flexible considering I changed my mind a BUNCH of times. She also worked fast and efficiently, working with my hectic schedule. The prices for the alterations were very, very reasonable. Mira is basically a miracle worker -- it really could have ended up as a disaster in anyone else's hands. I don't know what we would've done without her. The veil, belt, and hair piece were also beautiful accessories and of very high quality. The veil in particular is stunning. Julie the owner is also very nice, professional, and flexible. Even though we only did our alterations there, she always made us feel like VIP customers. If I didn't get my dress online, I would've probably have gotten my dress there! read more

Worst bridal store I have ever dealt with in my life! We ordered a hairpin for my sister's wedding in two months ago. We were promised it would be there in 6-8 weeks. We called to see when it would be coming in because it was almost hitting that 8-week date and we were told that it wasn't going to be here for another two months! They lied about how long it was going to take to get in the hairpin. My sister has hair trials to do and she obviously has to have the pin for it. When we called back and said we don't want it because it isn't here in the time they said we signed a contract and we have to buy it. Also, we paid up front for it, so they've had our money and still haven't gotten the pin to us in the timeframe they promised. After talking to the rude and completely unhelpful owner, she said it would be they said they would have it in a few days. And now because of their mistake, they won't let us out of the contract, even though they have lied to us again and again. My sister doesn't even want it anymore because it has been such a stressful ordeal. I will never go to Matina's for anything again. All I can say is thank goodness we didn't get her dress there because who knows what horrible thing would have happened then! read more

Rude when we showed up, claimed they had no room for us, told us to go away and come back in 15 minutes (despire having a rez). We should have just left...when we got back, they kept trying to squeeze my friend into these tiny-sized, sample dresses that only a stick figure could wear. I highly recommend going somewhere else than this awful place. The staff is rude and were even rude to the bride to be. Although the store had an a bad experience with a bride leaving in tears because of her family, it is completely rude and unprofessional to tell the bride's party to not say a word, and to stand over the family to make sure no comments are made on their ugly dresses. We were constantly reminded that its what ever the bride wants even if she gets married in africa on top of an elephant she can wear a ball gown. We seriously felt extremely uncomfortable to make a single comment. They don't know the family dynamics, or inside jokes, etc and it ruined the whole experience. We went from the first bridal shop where we were laughing, joking, and moved to tears on some of the dresses, to sitting their silently, and painfully looking at ugly dresses. Because we are FAMILY we knew the brides face expression and thoughts on the dresses, and we had to bit our tongue. They also wouldn't listen to the bride nor understand why she didn't like the dress. Who would want lace circling your butt? Apparently, they couldn't understand that. Not to mention, they were rude to the bride about not understanding what she likes. They had the mentality that their dresses are amazing and how could anyone not like the dress. Not to mention they had a little kid running around the store that open the curtain to the dressing room while the bride was in there. Thankfully the bride was fully dressed, or that would have been embarrassing as you could see from where we are sitting. As for the decor, this place is extremely outdated! And they try to call them selves a boutique. They had gross brown carpet, that was torn on the stand the bride to be stands on. Nothing in this place was boutique or up-to-date. Had a wonderful experience at Matinas. My daughter found her dress in New Jersey and was able to buy the sample at Matinas for significantly less. Unfortunately the alterations were extensive but in the end the dress fit like a glove and my daughter looked beautiful. A bride's dream come true! Wonderful service! I went to Matina's Bridal after I experienced the nightmare of being a bride who can't find the right dress. I tried on over 100 gowns at other bridal salons and just wasn't happy with the dresses or the customer service. I made an appointment on a Saturday and I walked into this clean high end bridal salon. The decor was very simple and elegant. It was kind of intimidating how pretty the place was and the brands of gowns they carry because I was nervous the prices were going to be outrageous and they weren't! There wasn't a billion overwhelming dresses to choose from which was a breath of fresh air for me. I was assisted by the owner who was very helpful and she knew what I wanted before I did. I picked out about 15 gowns and the last gown was one that she picked out for me. I didn't even see this dress, it came out of nowhere! This lady knew her stuff because it had my name written all over it! I tried on 3 beautiful gowns that I loved. All three were beautiful but just were not unique enough. Then I tried on the dress she chose for me. AHHHHHHH it was stunning! Very beautiful, unique and fit my personality! It's amazing when someone assisting you has the ability to read her clients and has the experience to help you make the right decision.
