They have a new check in form where you are required to complete, with some very unnecessary personal information. My medical provider requires less information so I question why some of these questions are required in order to complete the form. Very intrusive. Been coming here for about 3 years and have finally had enough. I have to return after getting an updated prescription due to them messing something up every year. I have to beg them to book an appointment due to me not being able to see when I'm reassured everything is correct. After two or three appointments they then realize they sent me the wrong box of contacts or forgot to update the prescription in my glasses even though they sent it off. I've been dealing with dry eye for a few months and had a two-month wait to visit my usual eye doctor at another office for a follow-up. Fortunately, Windsor Eye Care was able to get me an appointment on relatively short notice. Dr. Smith explained my options to me and started me on a treatment that has been working incredibly well. She has reached out to me personally to help sort through some issues with insurance/prescriptions and has gone above and beyond any other doctor I've seen. I'm glad to have found this office! Please save your money and DO NOT go to Windsor eye care. I had paid for an eye exam to get my prescription renewed for contacts and they had wanted me to try daily's and I declined and said that I only use the monthly contacts because the daily's dry my eyes out - when I called back to have them email me my prescription they said I had to go back in for a final contact fitting and pay $60 more for that. I have worn contacts for 25 + years, with yearly renewals and have never heard of that. Extremely disappointing. read more

After using a larger eye care center for many years I decided to make a change to see if the care provided was a bit more personal. I had my first annual exam with Dr. Phinney this week and couldn't be more pleased. Some of the technology that was used made by eye exam much simpler and more comfortable while still achieving the same professional results. My entire family and I have been a customer of Dr. Phinney for many, many years and have always had great service with him. The business has been recently taken over by Panorama Eye Care and I had an awful experience this last time. My prescription is quite consistent and always has been, thankfully only minor changes through the years. A new doctor did my exam in February of 2022 and told me I had cataracts and needed to go see Northern Colorado Eye Center Hmmmm... When I saw the ophthalmologist of my choice (not NOCO Eye Center) they disagreed and said my eyes were fine. HOWEVER, the prescription the doctor had given me was way off. I needed a follow up- which Dr. Phinney performed and took me right back to my previous prescription with very minor changes. They proceeded to argue and try to convince me it was common and not a mistake on their part even though it was by one new doctor with one anomaly test result. Charged me for the follow up visit and Refused to waive the fee. Geez. Not the money in this case as the co-pay wasn't a lot, but the customer service there now leaves a LOT to be desired. I'm disappointed as I always want to support local independent practices/businesses, just not this one anymore. read more

If you enjoy being seen as a human being, this is NOT the office for you. If you think that's harsh, please read my story below. I purchased my lenses and frames from this office. The total came to over $1600, which was $800 out of pocket after insurance kicked in. This isn't the problem. I'm almost legally blind so glasses are usually quite pricey for me. The problem came when my nosepiece popped out of the frames. I had planned to super glue it, until their office said they would use an adhesive and fix it for me. I went in, they took my glasses, and left me to wait in the lobby for 20-30 min. When they came back out, they informed me they had broken my plastic frames while attempting to fix the nosepiece. The good news (they said) was that they'd taped them for me, but cautioned not to take the tape off or the lenses would fall out. They did NOT apologize or admit any wrongdoing. The said I would need to buy a new pair. Over the next 10 days, I would have 4 conversations with them. The manager repeatedly said I had brought them in broken and that it wasn't their fault. They were blaming me! She offered to let me speak to the doctor about this, then denied me every opportunity to do so, saying "the doctor doesn't make these type of phone calls." I would later find out the manager there is his wife. During our last conversation, she said the doctor has no intention of helping me and that I should just pay to replace them or stop calling. Now I'm forced to buy new glasses whether I like it or not. I have constant headaches from my glasses sitting crooked. The tape they used is like sandpaper and is irritating the skin on my face. I will need a new exam, new lenses, and new frames which will all total to hundreds of dollars. They said this is not their problem. Their employee broke them while I sat blind in their lobby, yet this is not their problem. I currently have an open complaint again them with the FTC and the BBB. Their office runs on immoral practices that will do anything to save them a penny. Please do yourself a favor and go to literally any other eye care facility around. read more

As far as the exam, staff and facility, I have nothing but compliments. They were friendly and professional. Unfortunately, they were listed as in network with my insurance and I even called my insurance prior to confirm. After the exam, I was told by the staff they no longer accepted my insurance. They refused to make a claim to my vision insurance stating their parent company is considered in network but they are not and have not figured out how to remove themselves from being listed as in network. I have been stuck between the insurance and Windsor Eye Care for months trying to figure out how to get it covered. It should have been fully covered by insurance and now I am looking at partial reimbursement at best, not to mention I now lost the (significant) discount on eye wear. I feel this is very misleading to clients and the clinic needs to figure out how to resolve this issue. If I would have known they weren't actually in network, I would have chosen a different practice. But most disappointing is they don't fix it on the front end for their clients and then expect them to pay out of pocket. read more

I really liked this place. I have only seen eye doctors at chain places before and I decided I'd like to have someone more permanent and local. The doc is great, he took time to explain things to me and noticed things others have missed. They clearly make the money from eye glass sales but it didn't feel overly pushy. In the words of my 16 year old daughter. . . she feels steamrolled every time she goes in. She doesn't feel like Dr. Phinney listens to her. The final straw came today when I went to re-order contacts for my daughter. Her last contact order was a year ago (she had an appointment in May 2018 to verify prescription w/ no changes so no need to order contacts at that time). When she went in to pick up the contacts last Dec. she was supposed to pick up Accuvue TruEye but they gave her Accuvue Moist. She questioned them and they said that they were correct. She came home and started using the Moist and liked them. Today when I called to re-order the Moist they said they had no record that she'd ever ordered Moist and her prescription was for the TruEye. I told them that THEY gave her the Moist and explained the situation. They said she'd need to come in and pay $40 for another contact fitting before they could "legally" re-order the contacts that they accidentally gave her to begin with. We are NOT paying THEM another $40 to correct an error that THEY originally made. They made no offer to correct the problem and the receptionist HUNG UP on me when I told her we'd be looking for a new optometrist. Our previous issue was when we were less than 10 minutes late to their last appointment for the day (there was confusion on appointment time) the card I had said 4:30, they had it down for 4:00 and I thought we were actually arriving 20 minutes early. We were told she'd have to reschedule weeks later. She NEEDED the appointment because she was competing in a national archery tournament and needed new contacts. 3 MAJOR complaints and we will NOT be returning! read more

Office staff and optomical shop staff are phenomenal - opthamologist Megan Baca was far from our expectations and we will not be returning to her - Dr Baca was very short with our daughter, questioned her continuously ' .... Are you sure that's what you really see, ... You see and opening on that letter, and NO .... That is an O or a G or a P- depending what she was trying to read- obviously if she could read the letters we wouldn't be there in the first place. When asked which prism worked best our daughter was able to differentiate and tell the Dr - however her response ' .... Are you sure that ones better' all questions were curt, lacking the patience and understanding that is required for pediatric patients - from a healthcare professional perspective I find it fortunate for them that this practice's reimbursement is not based on patient experience and satisfaction - however as stated the kind woman that assisted our daughter in selecting her glasses is truly superior - five stars - and the front desk staff are very friendly and would recommend them to anyone - perhaps there is an alternate ophthalmologist in office that can see pediatric patients- we had a gentleman last year and he was terrific thus why we came back this year read more
