Taking advantage of the elderly by quoting a price and then increasing the cost later. Buyer beware.

I posted this review on Google, and sharing here as well. Great doctors, horrible management. I'd…read moreleave zero stars if that was possible. In summary, the practice is BADLY managed. It has excellent docs IF and WHEN you can get an appointment to see one. The existing docs are tied up in more financially lucrative surgeries rather than maintaining a balance between surgery and eye exams for patients, despite having four locations in northern Colorado. I read the reviews and the management responds to bad reviews by leaving a note and asking reviewers to call the main phone number, which I am guessing is pretty useless but makes them look responsive to negative reviews. My family of five has been patients of this practice for over 20 years. However, the ability to schedule actual eye appointments in the past two years has gone down to almost zero. I had been seeing Dr. Mayer after my cataract surgery in 2021 and 2022, but last year, I experienced the beginnings of a macular hole in my right eye and could not get an appointment with him within six months. I was referred to a retinal specialist, Dr. Korotkin, who said my macular issue wasn't severe enough (October 2024) and dismissed me when I said I needed a new eyeglass prescription because "he didn't do that", like it was beneath him to spend another minute or two addressing or even empathizing with my concerns. I wasn't able to get an eye appointment with Dr. Mayer until March 2025 (they tried to put me off until May), and he immediately noticed that I actually had a severe macular hole. I then scheduled a visit with Dr. Gange (never going back to Korotkin), who I was able to see within a week, and had eye surgery within a week. Dr. Mayer suggested that I schedule an eye exam with whomever was available, so as I still needed a new pair of eyeglasses, I scheduled an eye exam with Dr. Poznic for August. I got a voicemail on Tuesday June 10th that he was not available that day but there were plenty of appointments the following week. I called later in the afternoon and the earliest I could get in would be October. So despite having 23 doctors on staff, there is not a single doctor who could give an eye exam at any of the four locations before October. I tried to leave voicemail for the person who canceled my appointment, but her voicemail said it might take five days for her to return my call, and directed me to NOT call back and leave multiple voicemails. It's unconscionable to cancel existing appointments and not immediately reschedule, then follow up with the patients who lost their spots. They should be prioritized on a waitlist, but none was available. In short, I have a follow-up for my macular hole repair in July but I will not be returning to the practice for any other services.

Inconsistent, unprofessional, oddly expensive. Since this involves something as important as…read moresight, I highly recommend getting eye exams elsewhere. There are much better options who do not try to cycle through as many patients as possible to generate revenue. In my opinion, their priority is making a buck; not improving your eyesight and eye health

Answered my questions before I even asked, and if I came up with any others, they always had perfect responses. My procedure was expedited due to my travel timeline, and they were able to accommodate me. And pre-op and post-op were wonderful. I'm still recovering but everything looks great (no pun intended). This genuinely feels like a miraculous experience, being able to see clearly after more than three decades. Thank you so much Cutarelli team. I can't thank you enough.

Before I can even say I word I heard Dr Baca SCREAMING to the assistant "DONT TOUCH HER SHE DOESNT HAVE INSURANCE" "DONT DO ANYTHING TO HER" she proceeded to come into the room where I was in with the assistant and she asks me "Do you have $300 for the consultation?!" I told her "yes?" Mind you money isn't an issue at all however on their website they advertise "free consultation" she then proceeds to tell her assistant to continue since I said I had the $300 she desperately needed and wanted from me. After the assistant was done she comes in the room and I tell her what was happening and really snotty and with attitude she dismisses everything I'm telling her that the light bothers me after a surgery I had and she tells me "well i don't know why the light bothers" the previous eye doctor who did my surgery told me I should go there because my eye had regrown the pterygium in my eye. She proceeds to tell me that's not true. When my previous eye doctor told me himself it grew back. She begins to do an exam and touch my eye and my face WITHOUT washing her hands. She digs her nails into my face to take pictures to send to another doctor. the pictures she took where taken off her DIRTY phone. Not a sterile Camera. mind you she didn't wash her hands before touching my face but she felt the need to wash her hands after touching me. Professional manner are currently lacking in "Dr" Baca. But then she proceeded to say that the surgeon wouldn't want to touch me because another doctor had already done a surgery on me. I left and I paid the $300 since she needed it so badly. I would highly not recommend. Not professional in any aspect. Don't know why she calls herself a dr when she clearly doesn't know anything.

My spouse and I arrived for my appointment a few minutes early. When we got up to the door, I was all sorts of nervous because they had a big sign out front that said medical masks required and we only had nonmedical masks but they provided us with some (which we put under our fabric masks). They contactlessly temp checked us at the door too. Then we checked in and did the intake paperwork on a tablet they provided. One of the things the intake paperwork asks for is preferred name, which is just such a fantastic way to be inclusive. We were called back fairly quickly, I think. The ophthalmic nurse (I believe that's what she was?), Ashley, was super friendly and awesome. She did various tests on my eyes that were needed for my appointment. I was taken aback by the testing because we had called before my appointment to ask what sort of things they'd be doing to me because my anxiety was bad and I wasn't warned about any of it. When I told Ashley that, she made sure to make me comfortable and really explain what she was doing and why. Ashley also asked my pronouns which I was really excited about! Ashley did some more paperwork, asked if I had questions, and so forth, then said the doctor would be in soon and to poke our heads out if we needed anything. Then we waited for the doctor. Dr. Patel was efficient but also friendly. His assistant, whose name I did not catch, was also efficient and friendly. He examined my eyes after dyeing them and his assistant took notes then provided a diagnosis and treatment plan. Overall, it was a positive experience and I was impressed with how transgender-affirming their clinic is. I would recommend this location to anyone who needs specialist eye care.
