My experience with Dr. Gary Foster has been absolutely GREAT! I had waited for cataract surgery and finally when the time was right, Dr. Foster was my Knight in Shining Armor! He made sure I understood all my surgery options during our pre-op meeting. Again, the morning of my surgery while I was being prepped, he came in to be sure I was comfortable and asked if I had any questions. The surgery went perfectly! The very next day on my follow-up visit, the eye that had the cataract removed tested 20/20 and there was no pain or redness. It was unbelievable! And now that my second eye has had the surgery, with the same amazing results, I'm seeing perfectly and am seeing colors I hadn't seen as vividly in years! Dr. Foster and his staff followed-up with phone calls the day of my surgeries, just to be sure I was comfortable and not having any problems. Then a couple of days following surgery, I again received a call from Dr. Foster to verify all was well. I can honestly say that during each of my cataract surgeries, I had absolutely no discomfort, no pain, no problems. I followed the instructions concerning pre-surgical preparation and used the eye drops exactly as I was told. The post surgery instructions were easy to follow, too. I had cataract surgery done by Dr Foster in May (both eyes) and am extremely happy with the results. Everything has gone well, and my vision is turning out precisely as Dr Foster predicted - extremely good. His staff is incredibly competent and I was impressed with the thoroughness and helpfulness by all of them, esp his medical secretary Leorla. Not only was the surgery successful, but I was impressed with the events leading up to the surgery. After initial consultation with Dr Foster I picked a type of lens for my eyes and was set, but after reading Dr Fosters unbelievably useful website (see more on this below) I wanted to consult with Dr Foster again and Leorla worked me into his - as you can imagine - busy schedule. He very patiently worked with me on all of my questions, we reviewed my options and associated trade-offs (cataract surgery these days has LOTs of choices, ultimately I build a table with the options and trade-offs!), and I changed my lens option - and am happy I did. The results are turning out just as Dr Foster had predicted, he did a masterful job. I'm simply astounded at his gift and his time that he must put into this. I've never seen another surgeon do this! Dr. Foster and the staff at the Eye Center are AWESOME!! My story - have worn big thick glasses since the 4th grade. Upgraded to hard, scratchy, gas perm. contact lenses in high school, which I have continued to wear for years. However, to have the best vision for my prescription had its drawbacks-my eyes were almost always uncomfortable at best. I was getting to be only able to tolerate my contacts just till the end of my work day:( It was time to look into another upgrade! My best choice was the ICL procedure.
