We've been loyal clients of 20/20 Vision in Fort Collins for 35 years and never received a notice of their recent change in not accepting VSP insurance only to have a human robotic voice from their office tell us we would have to pay full price exam fee or go somewhere else. No "thank you for your loyalty" or "let's see if we can do something for you since you are long-time customers". I guess that's the end of an era on a bad note! Maybe shoot your other VSP insurance holding customers an email notifying them of the change. read more

Don't go there, I was treated unprofessionally, unethically, and with disrespect. My exam went poorly with both doctor and assistant. Glasses were wrong and told to wear them for week or so and if not ok return to get retested. I did and was told to sit there and wait an hour or so till we're ready. I said I do t have that time and would leave the glasses and wait for a phone call. Never did get a call back. They refused to work with insurance company or me. Treated with disrespect even as a senior, filed complaint with BBB and they are investigating, and with police if law was broken in treatment with seniors! Further will not reimburse or correct glasses for new correct pair. Do not go there, they will miss treat you. They mistreat seniors and abuse you! Stay away! read more

I chose 20/20 based on location and providers covered by my insurance. The office is tucked away in the shopping center at Drake and Taft Hill, between 1st National Bank and Pringle's Fine Wines - it's easy to miss. The technician that performed the first part of my exam was exceptionally polite, professional, and knowledgeable. She thoroughly described all tests performed, and even let me look at the graphics/results as the exam progressed. Likewise, the optometrist explained all aspects of my exam in detail, and was more than happy to answer any and all of my questions. The exam equipment used at 20/20 is state-of-the-art; my exam was by far the best one I have received in terms of completeness, professionalism, and genuine concern for the health of my eyes. My only complaint is that I felt the pressure of upselling. I was encouraged to purchase extra tests (not covered by insurance), extra eyeglasses, and to make appointments for my infant and toddler. While I understand that the office is trying to make money, the pressure to buy more was a little uncomfortable for me. Still, I will definitely be back for another great eye exam, and I love that this office is locally-owned and operated. Great selection of frames and sunglasses, too! read more

Really excellent office! There's all the usual friendly staff and doctors. Expected that. I also expected the professionalism. I did not expect the candor and no-salesmanship. Dr Vosseteig told me straight up what I needed and what I should not waste my money on. He was extremely thorough and very patient. My whole family now goes there and will keep on doing so. It's great to have such a good provider available to us. p.s. The methods that they use to measure your eyes (e.i. wavefront) is the better way to go and I do see the difference at night. I found out about 20/20 Vision at the Peach Festival and received a coupon for a $50 eye exam, great deal! I made an appointment on a Saturday morning, very convenient. The doctor was very nice and thorough, overall it was a pleasant eye exam. I went in knowing that I would need to get new glasses but I wasn't ready to make a style decision that morning, so I didn't end up getting glasses. I do plan on going back and making this vision center my go-to eye exam location. read more

The exam and lenses I received were good quality. But I have this place a low rating for 3 reasons: 1. They did not give me my prescription. This meant I had to fill my rx there rather than finding a cheaper alternative. 2. I was pressured into buying reading glasses. I spent a lot of money on those glasses. But what I really needed was glasses to wear all the time. 3. A few months after getting the reading glasses I received my every day glasses from 20/20. But when I called and asked if I could be refunded for the reading glasses I was told I would get a call back. If they had called back and told me "no" I wouldn't have been happy. But at least that's an answer. I never received a phone call. The lack of follow up communication was unprofessional. I went to Warby Parker for my newest rx. The quality isn't quite as good (still pretty good, though) but they saved me $300! And they answered the phone! And they didn't pressure me to buy reading glasses that I did not need read more

I've been going to 20-20 for about 10 years. I really like going there because they are both upbeat and professional. The tech was new this time, but she knew what she was doing and was thorough, professional, and friendly. The practice has all the latest equipment for testing and diagnosing. Dr. V himself is a complete pro who tailors his care to my specific needs. He explains everything he does, and he recommends, but doesn't push options that apply to me. We discuss my overall eye health and we almost always have a little laugh. I appreciate that he is involved in our community, too. 20-20 is no Big Box, thank goodness. I wish they had more frame choices, but I've always been happy with the ones I've bought. I love the optician's help with choosing--sometimes they steer me toward a cheaper frame that suits me better. I had a problem with one pair, and they were cheerfully replaced, no questions asked. My recommendation to those who gave poor reviews: it's surprising how upbeat and professional people are when YOU'RE upbeat and treat them with the respect they deserve. read more

Does not get prescription right, then refuses to even check glasses, or take responsibility. Had to report to my insurance, to make sure they got money back for useless glasses. I have worn glasses for 45 years, and have never had such a problem as with Dr. Vosseteig. read more

This is literally the first negative review I have ever written for anything. While I feel the eye exam was thorough, everything went downhill after that. I am going through a contact lens multifocal lens trial. Both of my eyes have the identical script. I didn't realize that I was given a medium multi focal for the right eye and a low for the left. Reading was so blurry that I didn't think I could adjust. Went back another time and the Doctor didn't catch that I had two different lenses in and that is what the issue was! Continuing to work through the trial. I had to wait 45 minutes after my eye exam to get pricing on lenses. The gal misquoted $45 over the max range of what my insurance said those lenses would be. I questioned the price, asked if she could print it. She would not. She gave me a pen to write it down. I called my insurance in advance and knew I had to order lenses that day in order to get the extra discount on the eye exam. Because I was questioning the price, she assured me that I could order on another day. She assured me that was the case. I got a bill for an additional $140.00 because of an employee error. I was told they are having trouble with some of their new staff and will address this with her but no one is willing to write off the bill. I was told they could not write off the bill because the insurance contract dictates what they write off. Businesses can choose to write off items to rectify situations in which employees did things that were incorrect. I have lost faith in every aspect of this practice. My eyes are too important. I am looking into canceling the eye insurance I have with work and getting an individual plan that my previous eye doctor, Dr. Osius in Loveland will take. I had gone there for 17 years and only had top notch care and professional encounters. read more

Our experience with Dr Vosseteig over the past two years has been positive, as many of the other posts indicate. However, his inability to to react with courtesy and professionalism during a recentvisit where my wife stated a concern has warranted a reduction to an average rating or 3 stars. I caution anyone who plans to visit 20/20 that your experience may be nostalgic to that of grade school, where you were the unknowing student and the much wiser, authoritative teacher "shushes" you to put an end to an unwarranted question...he actually shushed my wife while she was talking with him. I personally feel that his dialog lacks mutual respect, he does not speak with mannerisms that adults offer one another, but rather a mimics how a superior would speak to a subordinate. An excerpt from a recent email he sent me speaks for itself (notice the authoritative tone of finality) Dr. Vosseteig: "First and foremost, you were told that these lenses were to be replaced annually, and Jolena signed our CRT Policies form to prove it ... but that is not reasonable to expect and was NEVER implied...it seems reasonable then at this juncture, that you might be better served by a different eye doctor" 'nuff said. read more

I had great experiences with both Dr. Larson and Dr. Heffler for my care. The assistants who did the pre-exam checks were fine- efficient but not necessarily warm. My frustration is with the glasses purchase. I decided to purchase glasses with shades for magnets and paid a lot for them. I was called and told they were ready. I went to pick them up and they, in fact, were not ready. Good customer service is ordering something for a customer and then checking the order once it comes in to make sure it is what your customer paid for. Bad customer service is assuming that the order is correct without even opening the glasses case to make sure what is on the invoice is what is actually in the box. I am disappointed that this simple step is not already part of the process for 20/20 Vision center. I hope that they change it. read more

I went to 20/20 Vision earlier this year and chose it based on Google reviews. I was new to the area and needed new contacts bad. Scheduling and check in was simple and the office staff was very friendly. Dr. Vosseteig was very attentive and explained everything in detail. I felt taken care of by him and his staff and will be back for my check up again next year. I was also very impressed with how clean and organized the office was. I had a very positive experience at 20/20. Dr. Vosseteig took the time to ask about my family and I never felt like he was rushing through any of the tests. He was very friendly and made honest recommendations about small issues he saw with my eyes. I had a very friendly associate help me pick out glasses and would genuinely tell me if a pair did not look good. We pulled dozens of frames before I found the pair I really liked. she did not rush me either. I would definitely go back and would take my kids. This was my first trip to see an eye doctor (at 44 that's quite a feat). Dr. Vosseteig was very nice. He did not rush through my appointment and answered the many questions I had. He also explained each test to me and what each meant. He also did not chastise me for not going to the eye doctor sooner. Some doctors do that and it leaves me with bad feelings toward them. I thought Dr. Vosseteig was great.I enjoyed my first eye doctor appointment very much thanks to Dr. Vosseteig. I ended up needing glasses. The young ladies that helped me pick out my glasses were very pleasant and helpful. I was there on a Saturday and my wait time was minimal. I appreciate the weekend hours. The only slight downside is that they really don't do payments. They did offer to let me make two payments which I appreciated but it would be more helpful if you could spread it out over six months. This would be especially helpful if you don't have vision insurance. Overall the experience was great and I will be sure not to wait so long until my next visit. read more

I was a returning customer, and came here because it's my family's eye doctor. I felt like the appointment was as painful as those kinds of appointments are. However, I asked for a specific kind of contact, and they had me walking out with contacts I didn't want. I'm sorry to say, but after having a great visit last week with Dr. Grey Vosseteig, I was completely disappointed when visiting today. Last week's appointment was wonderful. I spoke with a woman on the vision wear side of the business and was given a discount on the Zeiss lens. I mentioned I had a frame before we continued ever looking at the array of frames available. She said I could bring in my frames. I did today and she changed her story saying that unless I buy her frames I couldn't get the discount. All she could say was "I'm sorry I didn't tell you." Talk about driving folks away! If I treated my clients like this I'd be out of business quickly! NOT COOL! --- Another disappointing part of the experience is in simply having a look at a previous review (Linda White). This business responded in an argumentative tone! 5 years ago I wrote a review about how much we enjoy coming here - and nothing has changed. The reviews that say they felt pushed to spend money are surprising to me. Sometimes people feel pressure when they're presented with options, but that doesn't mean the people offering are pressuring. We've been presented with things we don't want (every year Dr. V. asks my youngest if she wants contact lenses - she doesn't), but when we say no they don't push us. We continued to come here even when I was working for another optometrist in town - 20/20 is so much better!!! One year they moved and I tried someone else. The next year I was back. Dr. Vosseteig has always taken care of me with a friendly attitude and professionalism. . He takes the time needed to find out what problems I am having. I have complete confidence in my prescription. He is the reason I have been a patient for so long. I went here and the staff was good until billing which was completely incompetent. The eye doctor seemed good until...he is extremely pushy and very focused on selling Daily lenses. He is not afraid to lie about the cost to upsell daily lenses. Very shady used car salesman approach. Then his staff then tried to over charge me. Also, they said I would get a $100 dollar rebate. Recently, I purchased a $1,200.00 pair of glasses from 20/20 Vision in Fort Collins. There was something wrong with the glasses/prescription and my right eye was blurry. When I reported this to the office, they refused to check out the glasses to see what was wrong with the prescription. I was told to wear them for 2 weeks and get used to them. There is no getting used to the WRONG prescription! I have had glasses and contacts for 48 years now and I know when my glasses are not correct. The fact that 20/20 Vision would not take responsibility for their faulty product is very disturbing. I have purchased a pair of glasses and contacts in the past. The people at 20/20 Vision will treat you fine if you don't have a problem, but if you do, LOOK OUT. You will need to PROVE they are wrong and then they may still refuse to stand behind their services and products!!!!!!!!! I insisted on a refund and will NEVER go there again. read more
