I contacted many other nearby glass shops who berrated me as to the type, manufacturer, and exact size of the window, whereas everyone at American Plate Glass treated me like a human (albeit one that doesn't know the world about window replacement). The installation was flawless. Billy explained the process in lament terms and was extremely efficient and polite. All in all, my experience was phenomenal both pre, during, and post installation. My one critique is that I called this establishment on a whim as they are listed as "Auto Glass repair" on their google search; however, I would recommend them to anyone in the area.

They saw me right away and told me that it wasn't a crack but a chip and can definitely be repaired. What's more is that they squeezed me in right then and there without me having to ask, which was amazing. On top of that, they handle the insurance stuff, and all I had to do was start a claim online. But all this would be useless if the repair was not good, right? There is no need to worry as after the repair, it is now really hard to see that the damage was even there. I really wish I had taken a before photo. They broke several pieces of the vinyl siding on the outside of the house (and I think they would have just left it if I hadn't mentioned it), and then they simply caulked the cracks with silicone. He said that he told me when they made the estimate that damage to siding was to be expected, but he didn't actually tell us that. They elected not to use a drop-cloth outside, leaving me to clean up bits of spray foam from the demolition work with a shop-vac after they left. Then, I found no less than 2 dozen nails in the grass! The trim was only tacked up with a few nails; it wasn't level and wiggles around. There are handprints on the window sashes, too. I did call and have them come back to pick up the nails. Hope they got them all ... they were galvanized so a magnet wouldn't work. For the $$$ we paid in labor, I definitely expected workers who could clean up after themselves and take a little more pride in their work.

From first the conversation, immediately after my windshield was cracked, through drop off and pickup process, the personal (friendly while maintaining professionalism) attention was amazing. They even dealt with the insurance claim from start to finish. The work done was also impeccable. I've had windshield replacements done before and I always dreaded it because no matter where I went before, the car in question was never the same again. There's no whistling or blowing sounds and the inspection sticker was replaced perfectly with no wrinkles or peeling. Totally satisfied and would highly recommend to anyone I knew!
