My driver side rear car window was smashed in and thankfully they were able to fit me in very early (literally dropped off the car a day after I called) and they fixed it same day as they received delivery of the replacement window. Of the three companies I called, Windshield City not only had the most professional sales rep, Lindsay, but also the most reasonable rates. So, I made an appointment about a week out (yes, they are that busy), and brought my car in this morning. Not exactly what I was expecting.... from a place with "city" in the title. It is a small garage that can accommodate about two cars at a time inside. There is an office at the back with space enough for about two to three people to sit. An enormous chocolate lab with a very sweet disposition greeted me as I walked into the garage. Mike introduced himself and told me where I could wait in the office. He said it would be about an hour and that was pretty much spot on. Eventually, Lindsay mentioned that I could cop a squat at the bakery across the street and have a cup of coffee and a pastry on them if I was interested. Apparently they have a sweet agreement that certainly worked out in my favor! The only drawback? The new windshield is so shiny and pretty that now I realize I have to get my car detailed to match.... and haul all the crap out of there and into my apartment like a good girl. Oh well, at least now I can pass inspection!! read more

picked these guys because of their comptetive prices and good Yelp reviews and they did not disappoint. Their price was great compared to the 4 or 5 companies I compared (I'm anal about getting a good deal -- especially when I'm paying for a replacement windshield because some neighborhood punks smashed my windshield Halloween night, but that's beside the point) They came to my work and replaced the windshield in about an hour. They were easy to schedule with and were able to work around my schedule. The installer even went the extra mile to primer over some rust areas (which were caused by an improper seal from a previous windshield repair job by another company). The new windshield looks great and I would go with them again in the future and would recommend them to friends in the area. On a side note, I was fortunate to find this company. I was originally going to go with Best Auto Glass due to a deal I found on Groupon for them. Once I called them to schedule the service, they gave me a quote. Once I told them I had the groupon, they raised the price almost $50 bucks, which even with their special Groupon "savings" would have cost me more than if I had walked in off the street! Their customer service was extremely rude and got mad at me for not mentioning I had a Groupon first before the original quote (presumably so they could overcharge me without me knowing). Fortunately, Groupon is awesome and refunded my money for the Groupon after I explained what had happened. Sorry for the rant... I'm glad there are still honest companies like Windshield City that don't try to bait and switch their customers. On the last leg of our spring break road trip, our truck took a huge rock to the windshield. I knew from the location (driver side) and size of the break that the windshield probably couldn't be repaired and would need to be replaced. Based on Yelp reviews, I called several shops on a Friday afternoon for estimates and decided to go with from Mike at Windshield City in Chantilly. He was able to get me into his garage on Monday and I was out the door in about an hour for the exact price he quoted me over the phone. Mike had the lowest price of all the shops I called but I picked him because he was honest about the repair. He said he could repair the crack but I wouldn't be happy with it and it wouldn't pass inspection. One shop I called told me they would repair the windshield and I should just take my chances on my next inspection! I'm going to start this review by admitting that I did not have any glass done by these guys. The molding around the top of my windshield had almost completely come off (the people that owned the car before me HAD replaced the windshield). I called two or three places before contacting Mike. The response was either "we didn't replace the windshield, so we 'can't' do that" or they gave me an estimate that was almost 100 bucks. FOR MOLDING. I called Mike on Monday and was able to get in on Tuesday morning. He gave me an estimate of $45, not bad (especially considering no one else would even consider doing it). When I got there Tuesday, he came right out, assessed the molding and got right to fixing it. He explained to me what he was doing (and what the people who replaced the windshield SHOULD have done). He was very friendly and I realized he would be the perfect mechanic. Friendly, professional, and explains everything in a way so I can understand what he's doing/what needs to be done. And when all is said and he has my molding done, he tells me not to worry about paying him for it, that me or someone I know will need a windshield someday. All I have to say is that when that day comes, I'll definitely be going or sending people his way. This was the most pleasant car repair experience I've had ever. Top notch. Thanks Mike! Windshield City is great. It's where Pohanka Lexus sends their cars for windshield work. The windshield on my 2012 RX 350 cracked while I was changing the wipers. (don't let your wiper arm snap back in place. Always use a towel). Mike advised that I go with Pilkington glass because they manufacture windshields for Lexus. He even said that some Pilkington "aftermarket" windshields have the Lexus markings etched off. A quick perusal of the Lexus forums would reveal that the automatic rain sensor not working correctly with an aftermarket windshield is a big concern for a lot of the owners, but I did not have that problem with the Pilkington glass that Mike put in. And I paid for the whole thing out of pocket because it didn't cost too much over my insurance deductible. And I have no wavy lines or blurred spots in my windshield either. It was a cold January evening when I picked up my car and he was heating my car in his heated garage for the windshield seal to seal right. This is good work. Mike has a ton of experience of replacing a lot of windows over the years and he actually gives a c**p about the work he's doing and I feel very confident that every windshield that he puts in is done right. I love the shop and Mike is the best! It was quite some 'luck' to have two cracked windshield within two months. So now I m a frequent customer for windshield city. The first time, I chose them because they have the most reasonable price among all the shops I called. Also because the nice review rate they have on yelp. The replacement was finished within one hour while I enjoy some pastry and coffee on the house. Mike replace the rain sensor a couple times till perfection. The second time, the same professional work. I noticed the windshield wiper angle was off after the replacement. Mike helped me fix it with a short on July 4th. I just had a new windshield installed by Mike a couple of weeks ago, and I'm incredibly happy with his work! After some big temperature fluctuations, a small chip spread into a huge crack across half the windshield. After seeing his reviews here, I made him my first call. There was a small hiccup with scheduling my appointment, as I had to leave and come back another day when my glass didn't arrive with the expected shipment. This wasn't his fault, though, and he accommodated me only two days later. Also, sadly, the bakery was closed when I had my appointment, but Mike had no problem with me hanging in the office with my book while he worked. He even shared his box of donuts, so I didn't even need the bakery! After just about an hour, my new glass was in and the car was ready to go. His price was extremely reasonable, and his work is holding up great. It's great that he has weekend and evening hours, as it was convenient to pop over after work. Very happy with Mike and his crew. I had a leak in my windshield, so I asked them to remove and reinstall to seal up everything. When he removed my windshield there was rust all inside because the previous guy didnt prime it correctly. I sent an email requesting an estimate for my Jeep Grand Cherokee on Monday late afternoon and Kathy had a reply with a quote by Tuesday morning. Their quote was less expensive than a certain national brand that does a lot of advertising (but gets mixed review), though not the least expensive of the quotes I got. Given the pretty consistent great reviews for Windshield City, I chose them. I don't mind paying more for good work. Replacing a windshield and spending a few hundred $$ has never been more pleasant. They had my windshield on hand by Wednesday and I scheduled an appointment to come to their shop on Friday evening. All the staff were very courteous. After discovering a huge crack on my windshield, I decided to search around for a place to replace it. I wanted to get the original dealer glass installed, and they were able to get the glass and install it perfectly. The price for the job was unbeatable as well. Windshield replacement quickly, good price and fantastic service!! This morning my son's car went from having a small crack to a side to side crack as the cold air met the warm heater. No way to repair this so I needed a new windshield. Called Windshield City at 0900 and they gave me a complete quote over the phone. She was very friendly. I asked about when I could get an appointment and she stated they could do it today if I made up my mind by 1000 so they could have it pulled from the warehouse.
