I do not recommend WindowRama for 2 reasons 1) they scheduled an appointment with us for last Friday. My husband took the day off from work to be here. Just before they were to come, we got a call from the, so called estimator saying his car broke down. at time of purchase I was told it would take ten days for my windows to come in, it took over 2 months. They were replacing an oversized bay window above my kitchen sink. I was mislead to believe it would have the same depth, it is not even a third of the size of what was there. When I called to discuss and see how this happened. instead of an appology I was told the transcript of the recording (done in my living room without my consent) the sales person said the angle would be 45 degrees and somehow I was supposed to know the depth would then go from over 30 inches, down to 10. overpriced, delayed, poor costumer service and violation of my privacy by recording without my knowledge. read more

Finally Installed Anderson Series 200 Sliding Glass Door - Impossible to open/close. Extremely HARD to open/close - $5,000 price point - door does not open/close without Tremendous effort. Even the installer said, they are very hard to open/close. Supervisor came to see - said "that is how Andersons are" - not to mention shotty sub par corner joints. We had a very mixed experience with WindowRama. Their installers were excellent and the product quality was good, but they have seriously nasty people in their "administrative" area. One of them even went to the extent of coming to our home to berate and harass us - and would not leave until we threatened to call the police. Sad - the installers should go work for a more legitimate company. They ruined what would have otherwise been a very good contracting experience. They really ruined it. Had 7 windows replaced in my home because the old ones were cloudy and drafty. A Sales person named Mike came to my home and explained what happened with my old windows and gave me a few options to correct the problems. Full installation vs just replacing the insert part. We decided to do the full installation and although it took a while to come in we are very pleased with the results. The windows look great and there is no more draft. Big mistake to work with this company. We started our job over 8 months ago for a few replacement windows that they said would take maybe 8 weeks. First they didn't put the orders in in a timely manner, making plenty of excuses along the way. Then, when the orders did come in they made a careless error. We had to wait months longer, and they gave us a small discount despite this job taking up over half the year. Then, when they finally finished, they hounded us incessantly to finish up payment as we wanted time to meticulously scour the bill they sent for any wrong or misleading charges given our experience. spent $14,000 on the windows for entire house in May 2021 and so disappointed that the windows are defective...they don't close properly...my contractor provided the information twice for the company to take action and send the replacement parts but it's still an open issue. Shortly after the salesman Michael Rodriguez came to our home and we placed an order for a door and windows. We ordered a custom made window, A door and also 4 replacement windows. On Nov 3rd 2019 the installer came in to install. We waited patiently from August till November (3 months) for the install. I went with your company because I thought they were a top rated A+ company. We are very surprise at the poor customer service experienced that we were given. 1st- Order a custom window for living room-Window came in and was not the window I ordered. Once we noticed this mistake- We contacted the general manager Steve. Steve told my husband, he would go to the office, check paper work and contact him back. His response was three days later as the installer was installing our door. In the meantime I tried contacted Michael Rodriguez (Salesman). Michael Rodriguez responded to a phone call the next day. Stating that what I signed for wasn't what I really wanted. He said we asked for pricing on different designs and ideas and what we settled on, was the window we received. I explained to Michael that I was very aware of what I ordered, signed and paid for. What I wanted and paid for was on the sale invoice. However we went a back and forth in who was right and who was wrong. I explained to Michael that what was on the invoice was what I ordered and I wanted. He told me I would have to talk to Steve, this situation was out of his hands. My question is why is a problem if my signed contract has the right measurements of the window that we ordered? Again. We waited patiently for Steve. Three days later Steve comes in and tells me Michael side of the story, and start to explain to me and my husband that he was just the middle man trying to make everyone happy. WE are the customers and our signed contract did not match the item installed so I don't understand why there was any confusion. So I pull my cell phone out and showed Steve a text on what I was questioning (it was installing a bigger door). So in the end. Steve understood that we knew exactly what we signed and ordered. Steve offered us 1500 off of our invoice if we kept the window. We explained to Steve, that we was fully aware that this mishap was not our fault but your company's but taking 1500 off was like a slap in our face again. We paid over 13k for the entire project and the custom window being our biggest cost. So we declined because as a customer I felt that Steve didn't try to negotiate with us. It was a take it or leave it deal. REALLY.??? So skip the installed of the door. Our door had a 34 inch opening, and we questioned Michael on this because we wanted to open the door to 36inch (standard size), and he said to open the door it would be around 2K more. We said never mind because we had no problems with the previous opening so we will keep what we have. The door arrives and it is a 36 inch door (wrong order again). So of course your company agrees to give us the door because it was your mistake AGAIN... Not ours. Upon installation of the door. The door is NOT installed correctly. It is slanted and now that we finally had contractors come in and install the sheet rock and taping. They explained to us how the door is not installed correctly. They said it will be hard to put molding up to cover the mistake because of the slant of the door.(UUUGGGHHH). 1. So now our situation is we are waiting on a new window that we have not received any information on since the first wrong installation back in Nov. 2. Who is going to pay to have the contractors come back and tape after the correct window is installed? 3. The door was improperly installed and needs to be fixed asap. PLEASE NOTE.**** WE were doing remolding to the living room are and held up the finishing of the sheet rock and taping because of the install of the windows***** please see attached picture I am very upset that a company of this magnitude don't put their customers first. It's one thing to have an issue with vendors and delays therein, but blaming our contractor for YOUR company's error is nearly as egregious as sending the wrong color door to begin with and then a new door with the wrong dimensions! Was calling for months about my storm I had installed only 3 years ago. Door kept giving me many issues and they sent service down once to adjust it. Then it kept not closing right. For 2 years it kept giving me issues. Called my salesperson and he stopped responding to me. Called service and kept getting the runaround . I got through to them finally a couple of weeks ago. They transferred me to the wrong extension and I spoke with someone name Alex. I don't know who Alex is, but my door had apparently nothing to do with his department. Instead of brushing me off like everyone else he actually talked to me like a human being. Told me what to say to Andersen when I called them and I ended up getting all new parts from them. The 1 star is Windowrama in general as I will not be doing business with them anymore. I wish I could give Alex 5 stars though. If you ever get stuck you should call him, he's a good person who treats customers with respect! read more

We would give this company negative stars if it was an option. My husband and I signed a contract before Columbus day 2018 for them to install windows and two screen doors. They were set to come before Thanksgiving. They were pushed back and said it was because the doors were custom and weren't ready. Then we were told that would come two days before Christmas. Fine. Not convenient but we agreed. It rained one of the days. They couldn't come which is understandable The next day was Saturday. We were waiting and waiting. I bought coffee and donuts and no one comes. No one calls. No one comes. Apparently they don't work Saturday's. they tell us after we were calling and calling and finally got in touch with them to tell us sorry We have to reschedule. They then show up to start work and they couldn't get the old window out of the front. They proceed to break the glass all over my home to get it out. I have two dogs, two young boys and two babies in my home with glass all over. I'm still finding glass in the front yard. Then they do not tell me that I have broken screens, they got caulking on my new masonry work in the front of the house- which they tried to pin on us, some windows wouldn't open up completely and were stuck. They didn't have moulding for the window upstairs and it needed to be ordered (mind you I placed the order in October). We had issues with the install in the front screen door. there was a large screw coming through the bottom of one window so that window needed replacing. Then Steve, never shows up to the job. He's on "vacation". They send Bill. Bill stands in my kitchen and talks about my dogs. Doesn't check the job or even speak to the men working. At this point we were beyond upset. Spoke with Gary. Gary made promises to make it right. Now here we are. April 27, 2019. And they call me to say that the financing is going to expire and I need to sign the paper to pay. for the unfinished products mind you. Still waiting on two ripped screens and 5 windows that won't fully open. After discussing I'm not comfortable with paying them for unfinished work they tell me Steve will come with the screens and will place a work order on the windows if I sign the paper to pay them. Also, at this point they have agreed to compensate us for all the problems with a door for the front of the house. Which we agreed on and I emailed Steve multiple times with no response with questions about the door. Steve tells us that he will come after his meeting to bring the screens. It's now 2:00 no call nothing. I call Steve and he tells me he can't come till Monday and has to go to garden city. So I tell him, then he doesn't get paid till Monday. Magically, Steve decides to come. He drops off two screens for us. We sign the paper to pay them. Then he leaves. He never offers to put the screens in for us. So we put the screens in and low and behold they don't fit!! So now they have the paper that we agree to pay and we are still in the same position. At this point we contact Steve, Gary, Vin, and Caroline, to tell them we do not want the door for compensation because we do not trust them to basically do anything at this point and we want a monetary compensation instead. They agree to compensate us 2500 dollars. Which I'm still waiting for receipt on . We still have two broken screens and 5 windows that don't open. They are new windows. They are supposedly guaranteed for life- we will see. Gary is particularly condescending in his emails. This company is the worst I have ever dealt with. I would never recommend them to anyone. We all work very hard for our money. This is a total waste in my opinion. And completely aggravating. We tried to be understanding multiple times and they just continue to mess up and make more mistakes and play the cover up game and blame game. read more

I called very upset after hearing from the sales rep that there may be delay in getting my door. I have been waiting months for this door from Andersen. He transferred me to another department and the rep that picked up was named Alex I believe. I feel bad because I really unloaded on him. However I truly regret doing so. He was the kindest person to talk to. He assured me everything was ok and that I was in good hands. He even checked the ship date on Andersen's site for me and it turned out to shipping a little earlier. He was really sympathetic to how I felt and explained this happens every now and then and it really was not worth getting really upset, but understood why I was. My goodness, he should be a psychologist. I really do feel better after taking with him. So if anyone who is in my situation reading this, just be calm, there are worse things that can happen and we should expect companies to have delays these days. Stay away!! All the negative reviews that you read about Windowrama is true. Do not give them the benefit of the doubt like I did. My salesperson was also Mike R. He lied for 8 weeks that my window order was placed and I only found out that he was lying after I escalated and his colleague confessed that the window order was never placed!! This is the height of dishonesty , unprofessionalism and mismanagement that no customer should ever experience. Here are the facts: I entered into a contract on 9/11/2020 with Windowrama and Marvin's windows ( contract via Windowrama) to replace and Install approximately thirty windows in my house. The estimated time from contract to installation that was provided by Mike R was 6-8 weeks ( 8 weeks would take us to November 6th) On September 17th, I contacted Mike to get an ETA on when Marvin would be done producing the windows for shipment . He assured me that he followed up but did not receive an response as yet. I figured that everyone is busy so I left it alone and felt assured that he followed up so Marvin's understood the urgency. On October 28th Mike contacted me and told me that a support beam will have to be installed to support the size of the four front windows or I upgrade those four windows to withstand possible storms. . I questioned why he was contacting me two months later to inform me of this when I thought the windows should have been installed by then. He said it was an oversight when they reviewed the front windows and ensured me that he rest of the windows were already produced and they wanted make sure I was aware of what needs to be done for those four windows. I agreed with to install the beam and promptly asked how much longer. Mike R told me just a few more weeks. I reminded him that I am doing my siding with stucco and the weather will prohibit me from doing the stucco if the window installation is delayed much longer and my stucco is waiting fit the windows to be installed first. In addition, I reminded Mike that my windows are leaking and it's getting cold. On October 29th I got another phone call from Mike stating that I needed to pay 60% of my balance and the rest before installation. The contract I signed stated the remained about would be due at installation. I argued that point but still agreed for him to pick up the check on October 30th. Low and behold, Mike did not come to pick up the check. I found that quite strange so I decided to escalate. Long story short, I spoke to Mike's boss and the Project Manager and was told that THEY DID NOT PLACE THE ORDER FOR MY WINDOWS. Now, why would anyone want to do business with this company?! He was courteous and patient and extremely helpful during the process of drawing up a proposal for an elaborate new home project. He went over our construction drawings window by window, explaining the details of each window system and making suggestions for possible alternatives. We came away from this session with a clear idea of what Windowrama had to offer. Bill promised us the best possible price, and he came through with that. In the end, however, we decided to go with a supplier that our builder had worked with previously and felt comfortable with. This was a tough decision for us because we liked Bill a lot. I visited the Farmingdale, NY showroom to ask some questions about replacing old windows. The very first thing that got my attention was a full line display. They had almost all products that they sell in the showroom. I am a visual learner and picture on-line does not make me comfortable when I make a decision about few thousand dollars purchase. Second, no one tried to push any sales onto me when I entered the store. I browsed a little, tried few widows and doors, read some info and when I was ready to talk, Bill, who was the representative I spoke to, was super helpful. Bill answered all of my questions, gave me multiple estimates for all the options that were possible for what I was looking for. He also made very valid suggestions and will be cost effective for me rather than profitable for the store. I left the store with lots of info and ready to make an appointment for the specialist to come to my house to give me an exact quote for the job. read more

Negative. I recently placed a fairly significant Andersen window & door order for an addition to my home (approx. $18,000) at the Farmingdale store. I provided the salesperson with a copy of the architects plans which clearly indicated all of the new windows and doors required. The windows were subsequently ordered and delivered to the site and the builder immediately informed me that there were several discrepancies with the order. There was a missing widow transom, a duplicate double window unit and a bathroom shower window that was not ordered with tempered glass as NY building codes require. I returned to Widowrama in Farmingdale to make the necessary adjustments to the order, ordering a new tempered sash for the bathroom window, the additional transom that was missing and requesting a credit on the incorrectly duplicated double window unit, all errors that I felt were clearly due to the salesman's oversight when reviewing and following the architects plans. They of course promptly ordered the new windows and told me they would have to get back to me on the returned unit. After several days, I was informed that they would be willing to refund me 20% of the purchase price for the incorrectly ordered window or $200 on a $1,000 window. When I voiced my displeasure with the offer I was told that this was standard policy. An interesting statement, since the salesperson clearly made all 3 errors. After many back and fourth phone calls they offered to up the offer to 50% or $500. Again asking why I should be penalized for their mistake, the response was " this is Windowrama Policy". I repeatedly called the main office asking to speak to someone about the issue and was finally directed to the credit dept. where I left at least a half dozen detailed voice messages, never once receiving a call back. I also tried calling the salesman back at the store and have yet to receive the courtesy of a return phone call. I have ordered over $40,000 of windows and doors from this company since 2012 and have been like an adversary instead of a loyal customer. They don't have the decency to return my phone calls let alone admit to errors clearly made by their sales team. Customer service at Windowrama is abysmal and I will not patronize them again or recommend them. I would sooner put the $1,000 window in the trash then to have them re-sell it to some other unsuspecting person for additional profit. Riverhead Building Supply is a much better choice for windows and doors. They treat customers with dignity and respect, unlike Windowrama. read more

Do Not Use This Company! I feel it's imperative to write this review to inform potential consumers that Windowrama in Farmingdale's practices are highly unprofessional. When we first placed our order, we were given a quote by Windowrama that was more than twice the installer's quote! Our installer had to contact the sales rep to correct the grossly exaggerated mark-up. Even though they corrected the price, we were hesitant to move forward with this company due to this unethical pricing practice. We were urged by the installer to continue however. When it came time to deliver the windows, we were set for an AM delivery. My husband took a day off from work to accommodate delivery and installation. When the windows did not arrive that AM, my husband contacted Windowrama. Ivy confirmed that we were scheduled for AM delivery, but due to the large volume of orders, delivery would not occur until after 4pm. When my husband asked if anything could be done to expedite, she explained that our windows had been positioned behind all of the other windows on the truck and could not be unloaded until all of the other orders were delivered. In fact, our delivery was listed as the last on the route for the day! She was very apologetic, but could not do anything to help us. My husband told her that we would need to cancel the order and she said she understood and would connect us with our sales rep to handle the finances. Our rep was not yet in so we were connected to "Chris" in Sales. He stated we were not able to cancel the order because the windows were "custom." (We had never been informed previously.) He went on to state that our deposit was nonrefundable in accordance with the contract/paperwork we received. We placed the order for the windows over the phone and NEVER received a contract, or even a receipt for this purchase, much less information explaining the order was nonrefundable. He went on to lie stating our "contractor" was the reason for the delay as he told them to deliver at the end of day. (We know this was false as Ivy had confirmed the delivery time was set for the morning earlier in the call.) He said the windows would not be installed due to rain and insulted us by saying we have no understanding of these things because we're not in construction. He maintained an obstinate, indignant and unprofessional tone and ultimately hung up on us. When my husband made several attempts to call back to speak with a supervisor, they would not answer the phone. Certainly the practices of this company are deplorable. We will not be using them going forward and hope this review will help to protect future consumers. read more
