Adam called me within 20 minutes of me filling out a form on the Window Wears website, I kid you not. Punctual, friendly, professional. I loved having him in my house for the consultation, such a friendly vibe. He really listened to me too, and didn't seem put off by the fact that I had never ordered blinds before and was going into this completely blind (no pun intended). Didn't push any one product, but waited to see my reaction and the comments about what I wanted, as wild and bizarre as they were (i.e. "I don't want them to stick out over the sill thingy, you know? I don't really want to notice them") and then he made recommendations based on what I said, while listing the pros and cons of each product. It was a truly customized and informative experience! He had a quote to me within 24 hours, as promised (actually, it was probably within 12 hours), and then when I freaked out because the price was way over what I had budgeted (first-timer, remember, and getting ALL the windows done), he didn't even blink and worked with me to get it down to something more reasonable. It turned out to be as simple as a materials switch, going for faux, but still looking great. At this point I was in love with Adam's expertise and would have trusted him sight unseen. The blinds were a bit late getting to me (a week), which was irritating because I was waiting to move in until they were installed. Adam emailed me ahead of time to tell me (a shortage at the manufacturers), and just the fact that he communicated way ahead of time made me much less irritated. During this experience, I spoke to two other people at the Window Wears office, Mike and one other person, for payment and scheduling the install. Both were friendly and efficient. In fact, they had to chase me when I went out of town for a couple days, which I found kinda funny, considering that my experience getting anything in the home serviced involves ME chasing vendors, not the other way around. Once we got the install scheduled, it happened very quickly -- my installer was Stephan (and someone else whose name I didn't get). Again, friendly, punctual, professional. They didn't seem to mind one bit either that I was hovering and watching their every move (remember, first-time nervous homeowner!). They were fast and I had a blast watching the installation happen and my windows turn chic. Well, I now have a beautiful little house with gorgeous windows and I absolutely could not be happier. read more

Winning combination: personal attention, very quick service, and great products. What a pleasure to work with a small business owner who knows his stock and the local market inside and out -- and never forgets a job! I first worked with Adam in 2005, when I was a new homeowner and wanted to update my inherited window treatments with cleaner, more modern wooden blinds. I was reminded of that excellent experience (price was fair, parts arrived timely, and installation was top-notch) when I needed a minor adjustment to those same window treatments just this week. When I called to see if I might schedule a service appointment, I got Adam -- now OWNER Adam -- Holzsager on his cell phone. He diagnosed the repair and offered to come by my apartment within the hour. Not only was he able to resolve the minimal issue, but he remembered the original job, asked about my family, and noticed other improvements we had made to the property in the intervening years. So glad I made the right choice back then, and would definitely use and recommend Window Wears again! read more

Adam, the owner, runs a great business. He does the design, quotes, measurement, and installation himself, so you are always dealing with the same person. The reason I am giving him 5 stars is his incredibly fast response to any issues. The catch-mechanism on one of my blinds got tangled such that the blind was stuck in place. I called Adam about this problem. That same day, he returned to my home, uninstalled the broken mechanism, installed temporary blinds, and re-ordered (at no charge to me) a replacement mechanism. This is awesome customer service! read more

We contacted Window Wears for an estimate and design options for our master bedroom. Prior to the meeting with Adam we discussed basic options and pricing. Adam showed up on time and brought samples of blinds honeycomb shades. He explained the pros/cons of each sample as well the features. The before and after photos from his portfolio sold us. We selected a 2.5" wood blind with a taupe tape. The product arrived ahead of the estimated time (yay!) and Adam installed them immediately. The installation was quick and clean. He spent time describing the functions of the shades as well as the warranty. I look forward to working with Window Wears and Adam! read more

This place is awesome. there was an issue with one of our blackout honeycomb blinds. Sandy came by herself on Friday morning to fix it. She didn't want for the installer to be available since she knew the blind malfunction was making it hard for me to sleep at night. She is responsive whenever there is a problem, and couldn't be better at post-sales service. Rare in today's world! read more

Although I haven't had the pleasure of using Window Wears, I live upstairs and had a problem with my blinds recently (which they did not install). The owner of Window Wears kindly came up to my apartment, evaluated the situation, and set me on the right path to get them fixed. No charge. Such nice people! read more

One of friend of mine recommended this company, because they did a great job for him and he LOVES his new blinds! I am not a cheap and like to pay for what I get. But this company surprised me for the quality of job and the price! IT WAS THE CHEAPEST PRICE. Would strongly recommend this company! read more

Fantastic experience from beginning to end. Quality product for extremely fair prices. Service was much more of a personal feel better than those giant chains. Educated us on our options and worked within our budget - no upselling or pressured sales. read more

Very very pleased with Window Wears. Salesperson, Adam, and installer, Stephan, were both helpful, timely, and professional. I'd looked at buying online and doing a DIY installation, but read some reviews indicating that using Window Wears was ultimately worth the price because they know what they're doing. Customer service has been fantastic--they noticed an issue and are planning to fix it for us without charge. Didn't seem like too big a problem to me, but I like that they take pride in their work! Added bonus--they've taken COVID precautions very seriously, which I appreciate. read more

I'm absolutely delighted with our experience with Window Wears and would highly recommend them! They provided honest, quality service at reasonable rates. Bill provided an in-home consultation and was very conscious of complying with the company's COVID policies. He was responsive, professional, and knowledgeable and helped advise us on which shades would best meet our needs. We went into the experience knowing a little about the nuances of window shades and came out of our meeting pros! Stephan, the installer was also extremely professional and efficient. The turnaround time from consultation to installation was great given how busy they were; all in all it took under a month. read more

We worked with Sandy, who was so nice and helpful. We were unhappy with the color of our honeycomb blinds once they arrived, and Sandy worked with us to make sure we were happy -- even though it took awhile! We really appreciated her patience and willingness to work with us -- and we love what we have! read more

I got plantation shutters for the 5 windows on the front of my house. Adam Holzsanger couldn't have been more knowledgeable, helpful, or professional. His product worked better for me since I wanted a frame that would be flush to the molding around my window. I had gotten a quote from Next Day Blinds and their product was like a box that stuck out about 1/2" from my window molding. Adam's prices came in about 10% lower, plus he came to my house and walked me through all the options I would want to consider, for each room. It wasn't as straightforward as I thought and having the in-home visit was invaluable. The only downside was that I had to wait longer for the product, but it was worth it. Donna read more

Window Wears, Sandy (salesperson), and Alta blinds have really come through for us since we installed our window treatments 2 years ago. The treatments look fantastic (our neighbors have also been installing similar honeycomb blinds) and the blackout linings are quite convenient for bedrooms. Recently we had an issue with one of the blinds and Sandy came to our place within days. Alta will replace our blind under the warranty, which is wonderful. What a great company to deal with! Make sure to ask for Sandy; she brings great energy. read more

Adam has expertly guided us through selecting the perfect window treatments for the last three homes we've lived in. His selection and price options are terrific, and the quality of the product, installation and after-purchase service is unmatched. 100% recommend Adam and Window Wares. read more

Since I had such a great experience with Window Wears, I had them install powered darked-out shades in my bedroom. I also had them swap out my Hunter Douglas Silhouette shades in my basement with the powered version. The new Powerview remote is awesome! You can even set favorite settings! Love the shades and the skill of their installer, Stephan. Thanks once again, Bill! read more

These guys might do good work once they start a job, but, sheesh, i've called them twice and left 2 messages to come check out my place and give me an estimate and haven't heard back from them yet. they're out. moving on to someone who will return my calls. read more

We had our beautiful Hunter Douglas Honeycomb shades installed by Adam at Window Wears last June, and he took great care of us. However, I was prompted to write this review today because a few days ago I broke one of the brackets holding up the largest shade (I wasn't paying attention and continued to pull quite hard once the shade was fully raised). I sent Adam an email asking for his advice, and he immediately suggested a time when he could come out to our place and replace the part at no charge. This was a Friday night, and Adam was here Monday afternoon. What great service! I cannot recommend Window Wears enough. read more

Absolutely love them. Best customer service. Prompt and all around good people. Make sure you ask for Bill. He's the bee's knees. He'll take a gander and make suggestions based on your taste (or lack thereof). Lol read more

Sandy did our consultation and was very good and knowledgeable of the products. We had wood blinds for our living room and honeycombs for our bedroom. The experience was easy breezy throughout and the prices were really good especially for Hunter Douglas products. Their prices were really reasonable as well. As a comparison, their quote was a few hundred dollars cheaper than the quote I got from Next Day Blinds and NDB wasn't even quoting me based on Hunter Douglas products, they were giving me their generic stuff. NDB told me that I "couldn't possibly" do HD products with my budget but Window Wears came to the rescue. Thank you! I have recommended you to countless friends and even random people on my neighborhood listserv. Keep up the excellent work! read more

It could not have been easier to have my blinds fixed by Sandy today. Not only was the appointment incredibly easy to arrange, but Sandy couldn't have been more professional, helpful, and all around lovely to work with! Adam and his company Window Wears was recommended to me in 2008 by my realtor when I moved into a new condo that has two entire walls of floor to ceiling windows. (It is a lot of windows!) During his consultation, he showed us a variety of window covering styles and provided excellent recommendations of what would work well in the space. We took his advice and were thrilled with the final product. Adam provided competitive pricing, a smooth installation, and excellent service. Even though my original installation was in 2008, he came to our home just recently to adjust one of the blinds that had gotten stuck. The window treatments we ordered--based on Adam's recommendations--look amazing and have added value to our unit. Window Wears is a local business worth supporting. I highly recommend Adam and Window Wears. read more

Excellent. Window Wears installed shades on every window in my house. Not cheap, but the results are really great. Adam was terrific. Spent time to help us pick the right shades. Brought plenty of samples to help us decide. Installation was professional and the results are great. Very highly recommended. read more

Like most people, I got the run around circus treatment from NDB. Eventually had to cancelled my order because I could not take another debacle episode, and came to yelp for some research. Found Bill at Window Wears and called based on the great reviews here. How refreshing to get professional service and great installation. No confusion, no misquotes, no scheduling messes and no BS. You'll pay just a little bit more, but it's totally worth the hassle free and accurate work. Our windows look great. These guys are real pros with experience and attention to detail. Save yourself a big headache, window wears is awesome! Thanks WW! read more

We just got our two bedrooms window shades done with Window Wears, and we can't say enough how pleased we are. Adam came to our place a first time to measure one bedroom, and then a second time when we decided to do both bedrooms at the same time! He was very pleasant and helped us deciding on the fabric, colors, and models. A couple weeks after, as promised, we were contacted for our installation. Stephan was extremely polite and efficient in doing the job. We found that three windows are crooked and some parts didn't fit as ordered; Stephan immediately went to the shop to fix it, and came back within 45 minutes. Perfect in home consultation, and installation. If you want a professional job, and pleasant people to work with, look no further. read more

Awesome choice for window treatment company after we read their reviews closely. Sandy did an awesome job of providing us with great Hunter Douglas recommendations for our house. After the installation, we had a minor problem with one of the window treatments and she immediately had them replaced and installed. Fantastic service all around! read more

I sought guidance for the kinds of blinds I needed. Sandy was super helpful and not pushy. I made my decision, and the blinds showed up when they were supposed. The man who installed them was very professional. I required some follow up, and Sandy was here when she said she would. Six months later, I needed some fine tuning. Sandy came over on Memorial Day to help adjust my blinds. Three thumbs up! read more

GREAT customer service, excellent help picking out just the right blinds for our home. I couldn't be happier. As far as price, well, could be as expensive or inexpensive as you want. I of course picked blinds that would be expensive ANYWHERE. What really was helpful was how Adam dealt with one of the blinds in the bedroom not working properly upon installation (which of course means that he actually tested them rather than hanging them and leaving). He was on the phone with the manufacturer right away and got the problem sorted (they need to send a new blind) rather than making it my problem (which Next Day Blinds has done to me in the past). I am delighted and would recommend Adam to anyone without reservation. read more

Window Wears is absolutely amazing. Adam came to our row house to measure the 30 windows that needed treatments. He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and precise in helping us select the ideal type of window treatment and textile for each room (Hunter Douglas treatments, half of which are automated). He has a great eye for design and really helped us hone in on exactly what we wanted that would fit in with our overall decor. Adam and his team could not have been easier to work with. Our treatments were recently installed and we are thrilled with the results. There were minor issues with two of the windows, but Adam corrected them immediately and made sure that each and every treatment is perfect. Not a single complaint about Window Wears -- it was an excellent experience all around. read more

Window Wears is the best! We have used Window Wears twice and each time the service was terrific. Each member we've had contact with has not only been extremely personable, but very responsive, professional, and knowledgeable. We had a couple issues with our blinds in our second install and Bill and Adam came back to our place to fix them - months after the initial install. They do whatever it takes to get the job done, no matter how difficult. Window Wears is truly a customer-centered business and we cannot recommend them enough. Thank you Window Wears! read more

They did blinds for our rental apt and did a great job, helped in the decision process - and for a great price.

Adam and Mike are fantastic in every way. I moved into my new house in July and Adam and Mike counseled and advised me in the best window coverings for my craftsman styled house. They came to my house, measured each and every window (I have about 25 windows) and within 2 weeks, each window was professionally and stylishly covered. They are personable and energetic and I am assured that should anything go wrong at any time, they will be available to me. Definitely run and don't walk to Window Wears. read more

Mike at Window Wears offers the best customer service I have ever received! A cord to our Hunter Douglas blinds broke, and I assumed I'd need to pay a ridiculous amount to have it fixed. Instead, Mike both walked me through how to replace the cord myself AND arranged for Hunter Douglas to send me two cords free. Replacing the cord turned out to be rather easy. Mike followed up with me numerous times to make sure that things were going well -- and he did this entirely for free!! I have never received such excellent service. I will look hard for an opportunity to give him some business. read more

Overall, VERY satisfying experience with Adam & Window Wears. I had gotten their name from a colleague & was extremely impressed when I personally used them to do wood blinds at an investment property in NE DC. The consult was exactly what I needed --- informative & on-time.
