No call back. The day of the appointment - No show, did not answer my calls that day or the following days to see if it was just a mis-communication. It was hard to believe that I'd been ghosted by my gutter cleaners that I'd used for years. People this is BAD customer service - if you don't want my business , just tell me. Capital City recently pressure-washed our home, deck, and patio, and provided sanding and sealing…read moreservices, as well as painting and refreshing our shutters. The salesperson was extremely personable, which was the main reason I decided to hire them. The painting, in particular, turned out beautifully! However, a series of issues with the rest of the project led to six necessary visits. The first issue was that they showed up in my backyard without introducing themselves or notifying me that they had arrived to complete the work. Overall, there is a lack of integrity in their approach, prioritizing a quick finish over the quality of the job. The project became a prolonged and stressful ordeal, leading to unnecessary inconvenience and difficulty, and disrespect, which negatively impacted the overall quality and timeline of the project. Loosened sand and debris from the patio are expected; however, an excessive amount of sand left covering a large portion of the newly cleaned home, an overly large amount of sand in the pool and its surrounding areas each time, left me with several hours of cleaning, which was unexpected and demonstrated subpar service, and a lack of professionalism. It negated the purpose of hiring a professional. The amount paid did not align with the level of professionalism and quality we expected and received, serving as a cautionary tale for potential customers. I could not confidently recommend this company for anything but painting.

Projects: 1) Replace carpet in 2 bedroom Charlottesville property -- Project was challenging as floors in the high rise were concrete and extremely uneven. I was able to buy extra plush and durable high quality carpet for the cost of lower quality carpet elsewhere. Very reasonable price, including out-of-town installation. Floor Store returned to adjust carpet at the bath threshold where slanted floors left things looking odd. No excuses, no delays, no extra charges. Just a job well-done. 2) Custom area rug -- Love the sisal-look rug which fits my 13'x13' "everything" room perfectly. Got the high end look and high traffic durability I wanted for a great price. Love this indoor/outdoor rug. 3) Shower and floor tile for Richmond patio home -- Project is (still) in progress. It's been challenging due to general contractor issues and delays of several months (NOT the fault of Floor Store). Walter has been on top of the details, navigating the territory of broken contractor promises, no shows, and changing schedules with flexibility, grace, and professionalism. He's been the calm in the midst of a storm no one saw coming. Truly apprciate his patience, kindness, flexibility, and professionalism.

I had assumed (incorrectly) that the initial inspection was complimentary. The technicians who visited my home were professional, knowledgeable, and spent approximately 30 minutes taking measurements and inspecting the chimney cap. However, they left only a handwritten sheet with basic dimensions and no clear documentation of costs or next steps. The invoice was sent two days later from an unfamiliar email address that did not identify the company or the technicians, which added to the confusion. Finally, the companies accounting department reached out, leaving multiple voicemails to address payment due. When I called to address the charge, I expressed my concerns about the lack of upfront communication. The accounting representative was polite and apologetic, and I do believe the company values customer service, however, there was a clear shortfall in transparency regarding pricing. Given the unexpected inspection fee, as well as the high estimates for additional work and concerns about communication, I have decided to pursue services with a company that places a stronger emphasis on clear and upfront pricing.
