I was working as an…read moreasset manager for a wealth management group, and the house was part of a community of rentals. The rental company decided the interior needed a major update, and took it off the market pending updates. I hired an interior design company to select some refinishes, which we did. But the selections left the home looking and feeling cold and lacking texture. So I brought Tamara in for a re-decoration over the weekend. She skillfully moved and re-arranged the family's existing furnishings, artwork, ceramics, photos, and textiles to improve flow, warm up the space, add texture and layering. I couldn't believe the difference, and I didn't have to spend the trust's money on new furnishings and decorations. A huge win! Thanks, Tamara!

During a trip…read moreout here before the move, Jennifer met with us and we were able to quickly choose paint colors for each room. The process was so painless resulting in rich, warm and inviting wall colors. Jennifer also drew up a plan to create an office space for me. It's so special, like my private clubhouse. Plus, she's creating a warm and unique living area for us by using some of our old furniture and adding new furniture, carpet, and window coverings. Jennifer has a positive attitude that's contagious. Communication is timely. I love her honesty. She has a talent for blending items that were my grandmother's with more contemporary pieces and visa versa by finding antiques that add style and warmth to new purchases. To be honest, I was a little overwhelmed with the thought of creating a home that reflected our tastes without taking years to do it. I wanted Jennifer to kick me out of my rut with fresh ideas yet help create a home that still felt like "me". The result is beautiful. Thanks to Jennifer, my home feels like it's my vision, not someone else's. Our next project: Jennifer will create an office/engineering lab space for my husband. I know it will be both practical and an appealing place to live/work.

I did not have a clear design concept in mind when I hired Jennifer to help me. At the start of the project, Jennifer walked the area with me, inquired about my preferred color palette and asked about the budget. Once she had those facts, she quickly pulled together 3 different concepts that leveraged my existing furniture. I was amazed that Jennifer could take the limited information I gave her and turn it into a fabulous concept. Once we agreed on the new pieces, she handled the ordering, delivery and installation like a professional. From start to finish the project was perfect. Jennifer was also instrumental in a redesign of my guest bedroom. Jennifer met with me, toured the room, took measurements and established my budget. She carefully incorporated pieces that I owned and loved and amped up the design with carefully selected linens, furniture and finishing touches. She turned a room that I liked into a room that I love.

While Megan and Rachel are wizards at design and listening to client's personal styles, it is important to note that their services go beyond simple aesthetics. They were incredibly involved with the physical design of the space, which included frequent communication with our construction company and subcontractors, ensuring that everything was accomplished according to the plan. This included but was not limited to: designing lighting plans; meticulously designing and measuring cabinetry, and then working with the cabinet maker and subs to ensure a correct fit; swooping in to fix address all the issues, from fixture placements to counter heights to wall lengths. Their attention to detail along the way was truly astounding and their knowledge of home workmanship is unmatched. There was never a problem they couldn't fix or an issue that they couldn't untangle. FIVE STAR EXPERIENCE…read more What an absolute honor it has been to work with Allison Smith Design again. A few months ago, we purchased a vacation home in Scottsdale, AZ. We knew exactly who we would trust to remodel and transform our dated 1980's home into a modern & inviting sanctuary with an artisan feel. Part of the creative process was sharing my inspiration boards with Allison which allowed her to create a space that reflects and embodies our personality and taste. The architectural revisions she made in the kitchen really opened up the space and provided the open concept we were looking for. Her ability to solve problems when issues arose was quick, effective and intuitive. We absolutely love all the materials, colors, textures and finishes that Allison chose. The combination of the neutral travertine floors against the rich grey cabinets is stunning. The stark white walls allow the dark beams in the ceiling to be the star player. Her attention to detail throughout the home from the paint colors, lighting, window treatments, plumbing fixtures down to the hardware, every detail was meticulously selected to achieve a cohesive, stimulating and inviting space. Allison reinvigorated our home with all new furniture. The combination of supple leathers, textured fabrics, rich woods and unique statement pieces that really give the home an artisan flair. It's not just inside that counts, she also brought life to our outdoor space by creating a serene oasis for us to escape and relax. Allison and her team are incredibly responsive, truly talented, friendly and dedicated to giving their clients not only a beautiful home but a wonderful experience while creating it. I highly recommend Allison Smith Design.
