At first glance things seem great, however from start to finish there's not one employee that truly knows the art of repainting. In my case there were whole sides of the house that were missed and not painted with proper coverage. Not to mention the lack of preparation with flaking paint and priming. I bet my four year old can wipe calking smoother. Please just make sure that you get everything in the contract because they will definitely try not to do it otherwise. read more

update on previous review. I paid them to complete, and leave...I asked them to promise NOT to return and complete the inside. My loss of extra $600. But in the end found a local guy who comes highly recommended, who will complete, and including replacement of various indoor trim that had been damaged, all at 1/2 the price, with, no "requirement" to donate an extra 10% to a charity. A walk around was done prior to leaving and did ask them to clean up several large areas of oil based stain dripped onto paver patio, was completed with apology. A quick walk around did NOT show all those little "extra" things. After washing windows, we found over spray on not only windows, but onto surrounding things, like the heat pump. Maybe this is "acceptable industry standard", but I didn't sign up for the over spray, If I had known that it was going to happen, would have masked it myself. I did need at one point take the paint brush away from one of the workers, to finish an area myself! Why did I pay "professionals" to do this? Learn by my misfortune. read more

I love my house again! When Daniel came to do an estimate I was impressed with his professionalism and attention to detail. Those attributes have come through on my house. Its a 1926 two story house that needed sprucing up. Daniel and his team have been thoughtful and detailed. The communication has been very good. Daniel did a good job of saving me money on issues that came up and he stuck to the estimate which I appreciated very much. They even took special care of the bat house that had a bat sleeping in it when they took it down to paint! The job site has been tidied up and I am very happy. read more

Several months ago we received a bid. Due to the time that had passed I had asked Elijah if they could still honor the original bid. He said he would look the original bid and let me know. After a phone call he said they were really busy but one of the other crews would be able to come out. Then he called said he had talked to his boss and that he should be the one to come instead. I said great and I would like to get another bid when they came out for additional painting. We set up a day for him to come back (today) and go over paint colors and a day for painting(Tuesday). Today a half hour before Elijah was to show up I received the following text - I am reviewing this bid, bid sheet, and my notes here. I don't think that I can honor this bid at this time given how busy we are, and the likelihood that we would need to use two coats. I appollogize for the inconvenience, but I remember that this bid only made sense for us during last summer or fall. Im sure there are others who can do the job, but I don't think it will work out for us to. I think this is very inconsiderate, unprofessional and I wouldn't reccomend Uptown Paint to anyone. read more

About a year ago my husband and I hired Uptown to do some interior paint repair and to stain our deck. Being Christians, we were sold on their mission and were initially impressed with their local supervisors (we're in Lebanon). The interior painting needed was just to go along all of the walls where it meets the ceiling and straighten out the paint lines (the previous owners did a very poor job of painting).One painter was new and kept messing up and took a very long time to do the work. After we complained, they brought in another more experienced painter who did a good job. Staining the deck was a catastrophe!! They talked us into a thick deck-over type product that was supposed to last twice a long. They brought in a pressure washer to remove excess old stain, and in the process sprayed the small pieces of old deck stain all over our house, deck railing, and deck frame. It was very hot that week and I asked them if they were going to get "that stuff" off of my house. The response was "Yea, it easily wipes off with a dry rag." Wrong. It's a year later and there are still stain blobs all over (even after I complained and had them return to scrub them off because the sun had baked them on). They didn't do any sanding although there are places where they should have and it was even in the bid. Now we have lumps on our deck. They waited until the hottest part of the day to spread the stain on and it went on in globs and dripped all over the deck, leaving blobs and bubbles. I personally used a scraper and touched up most of the spots. They returned and pretended to fix all of the spots we pointed out, but they only fixed a couple. The other part of the job was to paint the exterior facia(sp) boards. That was going along well until the painter put the ladder on a slope (we're on a hill) with no safety blocks. I questioned it, but the painter insisted it would be fine. A moment later the ladder slipped, he fell along with the can of paint, which went all over a window, tree, and grass near where he fell, and the ladder gouged our deck railing. The painter wasn't permanently injured, but our tree still has white paint all over it. We complained to the owner, Andrew. He sent us a gift certificate for our favorite restaurant, as if that would fix everything. The guys on the job sounded like they knew what they were doing, but proved that they knew very little. The over-promised and severely under-delivered and will not be doing any more projects for us or anyone we know. read more

I've had mixed-experiences with painters in the past, but not with Uptown. In fact the one time I had a concern, his employee was back the very next day to address my issue and make sure I was 100% satisfied. I have had mixed results with companies that advertise their religion as a selling point - Christian or not, it's about the quality, value, and honesty of the people who perform the work. Chris Boris and Nate did exceptional work in all areas: the bidding process went smoothly, Chris answered all my questions, suggested ways to maintain the exterior of my house without going over budget. I received itemized accounting, information about products and materials, got a estimated time of fulfillment; and he had a portfolio of charities to choose from, as Uptown's business model allows the client to gift 10% to a charity of your choice. I have yet to check in with my designated charity, but I will soon in order to follow through; to ensure that the business office is as competent as the crew that painted my house. I love the look that Chris and Nate achieved, I feel blessed to have crossed paths and benefited from their labor. They were conscientious when cleaning up, disposing of materials appropriately, left the place spick and span, I can enjoy my home and look forward to having Christmas Lights installed soon. I have referred Uptown Painting to friends and neighbors, and that is unusual for me. THANKS!!!! read more

We met this company at the Albany Home & Garden annual fair in Linn County, Oregon. Initially we felt we would end up with a professional paint job. Unfortunately, we ended up with excuses and a patch job. Between the faulty paint sprayer giving uneven paint lines and their scrimping on the paint, by the time they finished "touching up" with paint brushes, it looked sloppy. They knew the paint colors before they bid the job. (Dark over light). They never apologized for the poor paint job. They blamed the sun reflection on the aluminum siding, they claimed we got dust on the garage doors after they were painted, although the dust was painted over..... we did 3 walkthroughs with them and they did the touchups but spots were still missed. If they would have put on a decent coat of paint, they would not have had to spend approximately 10 additional hours of touching up. They never apologized nor offered any discount. The painting of our house took a lot longer than it should have. We were very disappointed with the quality of work. read more
