Food, drinks and service excellent. 85 degrees outside- restaurant was warm and not comfortable inside. Will not return until the fall.

I'd heard about the Windmill for years from workmates, and I really thought of it only as a bar but never tried it til it was recommended recently when a friend brought his elderly mom her her birthday! We definitely were not disappointed! Super-generous portions, DELICIOUS platter with several types of sausage, sauerkraut, potato pancakes and all the fixings! The poutine was amazing, burgers huge and hot dogs outstanding! Couldn't even eat the "side salad" which was bod enough for a family and was great for lunch the next day! Why did I wait so long! Friendly and fast service and amazing food ... the Trifecta! Couldn't wish for more!

This was a local hangout for me since I was a kid. The hot dogs and sausages off the grill were a must-have, and a treat when my parents splurged for a lunch out. It went through a rough patch for a while, but the new owner has brought it back to it's original glory. I've been there twice in the past few weeks--amazing since it's over an hour away from where I presently live. The first time was a community event that I was invited to. Most of us were from out of the area, and everyone was excited about the hot dogs--whenever they mentioned The Windmill to someone, they were told "You have to have a hot dog!" That night, everyone had at least one, and they agreed, it was worth the trip. The second time was a lunch with my Dad. It was someplace we used to go years ago when the kitchen served mostly German food. That came off the menu many years ago, but it's now back! I had to take him, and it was a good as it was back then (I don't think the little old German lady still cooks there, though). Prices are reasonable, and the menu is extensive enough that there's something for everyone--pizza, bar food, sandwiches and burgers, and, of course, German entrees. During the week, they have Trivia, Karaoke and bands, so it's a great place for a casual night out. It was one of those times that revisiting my past wasn't a disappointment. I highly recommend The Windmill.

A lot of fun happens in there

Very cool place basically in the middle of a neighborhood. I really wish this place was around the corner from my house. Very casual atmosphere, excellent spot to catch all the football games. Food was really good. Simple bar foods with a nice flat top right behind the bar. I loved having a bratwurst here as well as some wings and beers. You can play Keno also! Highly recommend for a quick pit stop at the very least

Ordered the Windmill Sampler: pierogies, potato pancakes, and wurst platter. Sat outside on the patio and listened to the live band. Great atmosphere and service. They just put in touch less payment option, and I was the first one to use it.

We've been here two times and overall it's been a positive experience. The service was very good,…read morethe food and drinks were tasty and the atmosphere was good as well. The prices were on par for similar establishments - which is a little high across the board in this state, but that's just how it is. There is really only one problem here, and it's the seating. While the wrought iron chairs may have been an aesthetic decision that match the rustic design, they are really, REALLY uncomfortable! We were fortunate enough to have chairs that had a cushion on them (which most of them didn't appear to have), but even with the cushions, sitting in those chairs for only a short time was uncomfortable. Gotta say we would have stayed a lot longer and ordered several more rounds of drinks, but our backs and butts just couldn't take another second on those hard metal chairs. Ultimately, I'd give this place 4, probably even 5 stars if new comfortable chairs were added. Hopefully management will take this suggestion into consideration in the future.

Menu is a little odd because the name/decor/music gives BBQ place but there's also seafood on it…read more I'm not from CT so maybe that's a CT thing. Got the calamari as an app -- it was okay but a little rubbery. Pulled pork sandwich as the entree was disappointing. The meat had no sauce at all there was a little sauce on bun. I asked for an extra side of bbq sauce which was brought over no problem! The server was extremely attentive. I would not go back and wouldn't recommend it to anybody.

I first tried Cibus back in August of 2025 for a quick drink and appetizers, so when my friends…read moreasked where we should go for dinner, I didn't hesitate to suggest it. I may add that I live 90 minutes from here and only come to this town 1-3 times a year. So, my friends usually take my suggestions and a group of eight of us showed up on a Saturday night with no reservation, and somehow the universe blessed us with a table. The place was packed, even the bar had people standing around it; so we knew we were in for a good night. One thing I loved about Cibus that night, is the crowd. It's a great mix of Hispanic and non‑Hispanic diners, which tells you the food speaks to everyone. The décor is warm and inviting, and the dimmed evening lighting gives it that cozy, "we're about to eat well" vibe. Parking was easy too. I have to admit I thought it may be harder to find parking but we found a spot right behind the restaurant, though street parking is also an option, but was packed. Our server, David, deserves his own shout‑out. Super patient, friendly, and ready with answers for every question we threw at him. He checked on us often without hovering, and everyone at the table agreed he did an excellent job. Now, the food...my favorite part. If you've read my reviews before, you know I eat everything but have a soft spot for Asian cuisine. And even though I'm Hispanic, I rarely go out for Hispanic food because I cook it well at home and most places don't impress me. Cibus, however, did not disappoint. Not one dish missed the mark, and the whole table agreed. We even ordered extra food to take home. We started with the Garlic Shrimp with Mofongo. The creamy orange sauce caught me off guard because it's not the usual style, but it worked beautifully. The flavors were balanced, the mofongo wasn't dry (thank you!), and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. We liked it so much we ordered multiple plates of this one; plus two Cuban sandwiches to go. The Cuban was tasty, though it could use a little more meat and sauce. The Ropa Vieja was another hit. Plenty of meat, plenty of sauce, and the black beans were flavorful. A sprinkle of fresh cilantro on top would have made it perfect, but that's just me being picky with my extra flavors and aroma. We also had the ceviche, the trio of little mofongos, and the Chips and Guacamole -- and yes, they make their tortilla and plantain chips in‑house. Not a single crumb survived. I tried the Tostones Sliders with pork, and I wouldn't change a thing. They were loaded with meat, had the right amount of veggies and sauce, and were just delicious. The only dish that didn't wow me was the Maduro with cheese. I love maduros, but the melted mozzarella felt a little plain. There's so much potential here, instead of Mozart maybe try some queso Mexicano, a small side of meat sauce, chimichurri sauce, or even a spicy drizzle could take it to the next level. Speaking of spice, I asked for hot sauce and was surprised to get a watered‑down Frank's RedHot. For a Latin fusion restaurant, something like Cholula, El Yucateco, or Tapatío would fit the Latin fusion theme so much better and elevate the dishes. But overall, Cibus is doing so many things right -- great service, great food, great atmosphere. I'm already planning my next visit and bringing new people with me at end of May.

The restaurant midsized, it's nicely decorated, clean, and good for groups too. The staff were very friendly, food was good, however the waitress was ok. She forgot to bring my appetizer and forgot to place my to-go meal in time of the kitchen closing. The waitress was apologetic and I understand humans forget things from time to time when you're busy. However, this evening was less than half full and when we left it was near closing time...only a couple tables were still there. The least they could have done was comp my meal or have the manager stop by to apologize. But that didn't happen, I just didn't want to make a fuss...so I paid the bill and time will tell if there is another visit in the future.

Extremely festive with tasteful Christmas decorations. We decided to sit at the bar to get a better feel. Caley first welcomed us. Very professional and friendly. The menu is on the smaller size, but has great offerings and is suitable for the space the building holds. Our order: -We took advantage of the half off wings special for Sundays. The wings were a good size and we enjoyed the blue cheese. -Brussel sprouts: piping hot! And a HUGE portion size. These are a saucier style (loved the maple flavor) as opposed to crispy. Definitely recommend. -Buffalo Cauliflower: Just the right amount of kick and perfectly roasted. We loved the ranch dipping sauce. Also definitely recommend. -We had to try the O.G. Chicken sandwich as it appears to be the menu staple. The edges could have used some more sauce, but the middle bites of the sandwich were juicy! Loved the pickles, bacon, ranch, and American cheese flavor combo. -Side of onion rings, was served with honey mustard. Not overly greasy, had great flavor. Service was great, we loved the music but wish we could have heard more commentating from the basketball games. We were frustrated at times with the use of their plastic utensils... we often were fighting with our veggies as they slid off of our forks, but understand how the plastic utensils aligns with their popular food truck. We left feeling VERY full and took some wings to go. There were quite a few parties for a Sunday night, and their take out business seemed steady. Liberty Rock Tavern appears to be a hidden gem of a sports bar in the Milford area. We definitely plan to go back!
