I was in a sweet mood. BlackBerry is a fan favorite

A wine for every pallet! The reds-smooth. The Richters Reserve was a great red, but honestly they were all great! The sweets-unique and full of fun notes. I couldn't stop looking around! I love the ambiance here! There are plenty of areas to sit, both inside and outside. It was always breezy and the views are great outside! I love all of the shade! We ordered the cheese tray and I loved all of the options. The White cheddar and blueberry was my favorite. This is a fantastic place to get away from the big city!

Nice place on the outskirts of New Braunfels. Lots of wine options from sweet to dry. They offer flights for a reasonable price. Indoor and outdoor seating. They offer meat and cheese trays as well. I grabbed two bottles that would be excellent for sangrias at home.

Came to Windmill Farm Winery for a real estate networking event, and it was a fun time. The vibes exuded luxury farm vibes--homely, inviting, yet with a high-end country feel. The services were top-notch, with a staff that was both fun and sweet. The charcuterie board offered a nice selection of meat, cheese, and crackers. The wines were pretty good; I opted for the wine tasting options, enjoying a selection from dry to semi-sweet to sweet wines. Each wine had a great taste, especially the sweet ones, which had a unique flavor. They also have a pizza truck outside if you get hungry. While it's a bit of a drive from San Antonio, it's a nice place for wine and a good time.

Fabulous Tempranillo wine! Found my new favorite winery. Great atmosphere, food trucks and family friendly!

Love having another winery option nearby that isn't in Fredericksburg TX. It's an old barn that has a small 2nd floor that you can find additional seating. Outside there isn't much of a pretty scenery but the decent price of wines helps you forget where you are at. One thing I did notice is that there has been more cork shavings inside the actual wine. This place is new so I'm not sure if they are having problems putting the corks in because I have never had so many bottles with so much cork residue. We also bought bottles to go and had to strain the wine to remove the cork. Despite the cork issue, this place is a must try. Fun names and delicious wines to try. My favorite here is the sparking Almond. It is honestly the best tasting bubbly ever!

This is a cool new winery in the country that is not on the over-commercialized 290 strip east of Fredericksburg. If you go up I-35 and exit 46 in New Braunfels it is a short drive to the east. We took my wife and cousin from New Jersey and had a great afternoon. Ryan and Robin Richter have converted a century-old hay barn into a cool tasting room with downstairs and upstairs seating. It was one of those hot 100-degree days but the air conditioning was making it so cool inside. The furnishings have been collected by the couple over the years and are best described as eclectic, but functional. Stools made from old metal farm tractor seats. When we arrived there was a baby shower downstairs so we headed upstairs. Ryan and Robin are great hosts and told us about the work to make this a winery. We all enjoyed flights of wine which were all very good. They have some cool names like Diablo Rojo, Donkey Barn Merlot, and Farmers Fight. They also make nice charcuterie plates so you have something to nosh on while enjoying your wine. We were almost done when some friends showed up and we moved downstairs to enjoy more wine and conversation.

Thanks to Harvest Hosts we met Ryan, Robin and their staff, they made us feel at home! The winery is new and still under development but the buildings and grounds have the look and feel of hill country Texas. The wine selection is amazing!! Family and pet friendly. They welcomed us to stay more than 1 night. This area has lots of family friendly things to do so come on down!! We will stop back by anytime we are in the area!

We bottled a batch of wine

Love this place. Go here feels like having drinks on the back porch with family and friends. The owners and staff are fantastic. Great people, atmosphere, and wine.

The girl was rude. Normally the staff are polite, however this girl was rude. She needs to know what wine they have on the menu.

Texas Mead Works - Afterwards on the porch. Went great with a black olive pizza. 25APR26

25APR26 Been on…read moretheir mailing list a few years, and finally my schedule and their (Texas Mead Works/Blue Lotus Winery) day trip offerings aligned. Saturday afternoon kokedama (think potting plants, but doing it without pots) was listed as 1pm to 3pm, and with the advice to show up early if you wanted to order drinks or snacks to enjoy in the course of it. Most people seem to have gathered and done their sampling beforehand. We arrived ten minutes early and were third in line to order in the tasting room, where there was only one employee on duty. She was kind and informative, and we managed to walk in to class what used to be politely termed as fashionably late. I had a glass of peach mead in hand, Mr R had a chocolate bar in hand and a black olive pizza on order. The kokedama class was fun, run by a couple who had recently been florists in their own storefront. Tables had been nicely prepped beforehand. An hour later, a mixed group of plant experts and novices left with attractive creations that had a story/memory attached. On exiting the event room, Mr R took our plants to the car and went to fetch the pizza. I wandered back into the tasting room and asked whether she recommended trebbiano or dry Viognier for someone who likes pinot gris. Samples proved tasty and while they were both really nice on their own, I went with a bottle of trebbiano for lunch. The pizza was lovely--great crust, tasty but balanced toppings, perfect serving temperature--and we enjoyed it on the back porch. Splitting it between two adults was perfect for lunch and the rest of the bottle went in the trunk for the ride home. The chocolate bar predictably transformed waiting on the porch with us in full sunlight (our bad planning, it recovered in the fridge at home) as we had a laugh and enjoyed good food. Some of the other participants came and went as well, but most chose to depart for the rest of their day or stay inside in the AC, which I understand. Outside, of course, we got to enjoy local birds, sounds of kids and horses enjoying Saturday afternoon life on nearby properties, and a couple Guinea fowl who wandered by after the pizza was gone. We were on the less finished end of the grounds, but could see the nearby rental cabins (built to resemble wine casks) and a pavilion for weddings and other parties. There were several chairs and tables just outside the tasting room as well as inside. It's not a full restaurant, just a short list of maybe four items to accompany wine/mead tasting or satisfy friends who have tagged along. The shiny columns of bottles are the main reason most people are here, and there is a nice variety of flavors to enjoy. Prices are reasonable and there's the option of a wine club if you want to explore more than just an afternoon of beverages or have favorites you plan on enjoying regularly. You don't have to participate in a scheduled activity to just visit on your own, but it can be an added incentive to make the drive out. They close at 6pm.

It was my first time in there and I will for sure be back! We shared a beet salad and the beef burger. Both were absolutely amazing. I know you'd say "oh, Julie, those aren't that big of a deal"...yes, yes it was. It was absolutely melt in your mouth burger and salad perfection. My friend said she has had almost everything on the menu and thinks it's all wonderful. I asked the chef to pick a Merlot for me...she did...it was so good! My friend had coffee and said her coffee is so good she will drive there from the next town over to get it. She also said it doesn't need anything to take away from the flavor. Often she puts sugar in her coffee, but not here! They also sell wine by the bottle and they had a few other cute local items for sale. A sign that I thought was precious said something like "my book group reads wine labels". They have tables in there, they also have a nice lounge area where you can sit comfy. Love the vibe, love the chef, 10/10!!

Arrived on a rainy Saturday to a very welcoming bunch. Peggy met us at the door and said to sit wherever and they would come to us. Made our way to a cozy table and Connie came over with bottled water, a tasting menu, and a great smile. She went over options, asked about what we like, and we settled on a nice bottle that we could both drink and enjoy. By then, the owner, Pat, was set up and started playing guitar...he's a pretty good picker...and he sings about as well as I do...but still very entertaining. Great guy to talk with... Peggy did take me on a mini tour of their production facility...would classify this place as a nano winery...small batches done in a not so traditional way...mostly West Coast grapes and made in single batches and aged in carboys. The results speak for themselves...damn good wine at fair prices. Great venue...too bad it was dumping down rain...they have a couple of pergolas out back as well as lots of open seating..next time. When we finally had to go...2.5 hours later, we felt like they were family...very genuine people who love what they do and have a passion about their products.
