As I was packing for our East Coast adventure, I was thinking fall weather clothing: boots, beanies, light jackets.....oh but on our last two days, mother nature said NOPE, I am bringing the heat! It was hot and we were slightly dying, as we passed Sweet Elizabeth Jane, not only was their storefront display soooo cute, but we could feel the AC blasting when we passed by. Seriously, this was the reason why we went in. Not knowing what to expect, I was surprised. The store was two floors, but not only did it have the cute souvenirs and Christmas decor that was visible as we passed by, but it had cute clothes and accessories. What a gem of a store....it was boutique plus, plus!!! This store has my heart. It was hard to narrow down my shopping since I had to be mindful that I had a carry on and personal item to travel back home. I couldn't resist and decided to purchase items and just ship them to myself back home. I bought a shawl/jacket in the most wonderful Olive Green color that is perfect for walking and driving in. I also got the softest scarf. Customer service was top notch. I saw this scarf on display on a mannequin and I asked if it came in different colors and they went to go look since I am not a big fan of the browns in my attire choices. I got a gray/black combo scarf. Since we had cooled down significantly as we were shopping, we got hungry and asked if we could place the items on hold since we didn't want to carry our purchases until the end of our exploration and headed back to the car. I gave them my name, they placed the items on hold and we went to eat. When we came back, the store associate remembered my name and that our items were on hold. She also told me that they have a website with many items for sale from their actual sales floor that could be shipped and proceeded to tell me how the store got started. She wrapped the items with care and off we were. Prices are completely reasonable for a store of this caliber. This store could easily fit into the vibe of Stanford Shopping Center, Santana Row, downtown Carmel, etc.....but I KNOW that this place will blow any rivals strictly due to their fair pricing, storefront size and their unique items. What I enjoyed is the organization of their products. Makes things so much easier when shopping. It seemed that there was more items at this store from tops in my size to handbags. I found a couple of things to try on...the fitting rooms are big and having different hooks made it easier to sort the items that I wanted to take vs pass on. I ended up buying two handbags, three shirts and a pair of Nike shoes. The shoes was the best purchase because I had been eyeing the same model but just in different colors. It was hard to justify since I didn't know if the shoes were going to be comfortable. Lo and behold....they were here at Uptown. They were my size, very comfortable and it looked like they had never been worn. SCORE! Plus, they were under $50, making them almost three times less expensive than what they originally run for. Staff was friendly during our time shopping at the store. Parking was plentiful since this store is in a shopping center. I pointed out the inner seams were sewn in the opposite direction on the uneven hems that were done by the first tailor. It was quite embarrassing to point out these flaws that I paid for. Francesca and her husband assured me these issues can be fixed and made suggestions to improve the look such as an invisible hem. They measured me and every inch of those pair of pants, double checking their work. When I went to pick up the pants, I didn't try them on but Francesca told me if I was unhappy with anything to let her know, talk about customer service. I'm grateful for their service and will definitely bring in more clothes to get tailored. Cute little addition to OEC! This is a little storefront where you can take Korean style photobooth…read morepictures, and I believe they offer passport pictures too. Up front, there's a fridge stocked with cold beverages and a cotton candy vending machine. Also a bowl of green Korean candies! Then, there's some wares/gifts you can buy such as crocheted and leather items. While we were waiting to use the photobooth, the owner struck up conversation with us. He was very friendly and sweet, and wanted feedback on what we thought of the place. There's tons of cute and fun props you can use, from headbands to hats to glasses. They have a big mirror to take selfies in and also a small one to try on props. The photobooth is in its own room at the back of the store behind a curtain. There's a ledge in the back where you can set down your stuff. There's multiple options of prints to choose from, we opted to get the classic 4 frames because it comes with 2 print outs. I think most, if not all of the options are $6 for a print. Once we were ready, the owner helped us pay (I think the payment processing on the machine wasn't working at the time). I used Apple Pay, so I'm not sure if they take cash too. The photobooth counts down before taking a picture, and there's an option to do a retake, but I'm not sure if there's a limit. I like that you can retake the picture but I think it'd be nice to also have multiple options to choose from at the end. After you pictures are taken, you can choose the background design for your photo print and decorate it with stickers before printing. I haven't used a photobooth that lets you add stickers until now so I thought that was really cool. While it's printing, you can scan the QR code and you can download a version of the print on your phone. It also shows you a GIF/live version of your photos. I love this addition to OEC-- such a cute pit stop for a date or a day out with friends.
