A great massage session. First time having an Ashiasiu Massage. Ashiasiu is a barefoot massage…read moreusing deep pressure from the therapist's feet. The therapist stands on the table while holding onto bars overhead for stability and support. Technique consists of deep compression and gliding strokes along with assisted stretching. I have consistent issues with my neck, shoulders and back due to long term wear and term and require deep tissue work to break through the knots and assist with stretching things out. Palm and Sole Massage was recommended to me by another massage therapist who when she needs work goes to Palm and Sole. Made an appointment with Saderia who has the training in Ashiasiu. Set up for an hour session. The business is not as easy to find as you might like. It is blocked by trees and is in the back corner of a parking lot with other businesses in the front. Inside the business, the area is spacious, comfortable and relaxing. Saderia took my info and got my history. The session started and Saderia slowly worked up to full pressure with her feet. The compression from the feet due to weight and leverage can get deeper than other therapy techniques using elbows and forearms. It was an outstanding session and really worked things out. For the first time in a long time, my pain for significantly reduced. Will definitely be making another appointment.

I've got no complaints about professionalism or atmosphere - both were fine - but the quality of…read morethe massage itself was incredibly subpar. I went for a deep tissue massage wanting to get some of the knots in my aching shoulders worked out and I can tell you I walked out in just as much pain as I walked in with - no improvement. The massage therapist tried to sell that you 'couldn't fix everything in a day' which I understand, but when you pay for an hour long session you expect at least some trace of relief. She seemed incredibly hesitant to apply any pressure to actually get anything worked out, even when I pointed directly to a problem area. I would not recommend this place for those who prefer firmer pressure. Edit: Michelle was super fast in getting back to me which I appreciate. She offered me an appointment with an alternative massage therapist, which I've taken her up on. Very good customer support. Edit: Michelle arranged to have me come in for another appointment with a different massage therapist, Zoe, who did a wonderful job and finally got me out of the pain I've been in for weeks. A very good group of people. I would especially recommend Zoe's services.

Minimal coverage provided, so if you're particularly shy, know that only the essentials are hidden. The room was warm enough that I was not uncomfortable. None of the Asian women speak much English, so be prepared for that. They do conduct themselves professionally though! Unlike reviews of other places, my worker stayed in the room and worked on me the full hour, other than fetching a hot towel once. I was not asked about specifics, so it was mostly surface strokes and some stretching. Very light oil. Mostly face down; maybe the last 15 flipped over. Compared to previous experiences at other venues, I don't think that my worker had taken formal classes. I was left to get dressed, and when I did, I was asked for a tip with humility. Thankfully I was not harassed for more money, as I've read happens at other places. I picked up a card on the way out: Golden Phoenix Massage. Not the same as what is on the door. Maybe they did, or are, rebranding? Summary: It was a good, basic relaxation massage for $60. If you want a more therapeutic experience, go to one of the many places around that charges $90 or more.

I skipped over to Iowa 12 minutes from my place. Corner building, cottage-like, plenty of parking and the entrance is the one facing the street-the door with the big numbers and a mailbox. Simple, quiet and the lighting and environment is soothing. Asian music softly playing. I was asked for payment up front, which I do not oppose to. ( I'm sure she has her reasons.) Truly affordable and so amazingly therapeutic! The massage therapist (I didn't get her name) knows what's she doing and her technique is impeccable-far from none. She checked pressure comfort with me, to make sure I was comfortable. I was, there was a couple of times I wanted to jump out of the table! However I just relaxed through it taking some very deep breathes and allowing her to work her magic! Head to toe massage, very thorough. Best 60 minutes and on a Sunday! She's not always available on Sundays so she kindly asked I called ahead of time. Thank you again, great experience and I will return soon!! Side note: Kindly offered a water and candy afterwards.

Unfortunately, the massage was not nearly as nice as other places I've been. This was half the cost, so really, you get what you pay for, but I probably will not be back. The scheduling was easy, the building and room I was in for both great, but you can very much tell. The staff is in a school setting. The girl who did my massage struggled to make conversation on the way to our room, she was definitely trying! But not yet comfortable with your customers it seemed. The massage itself had all the elements of a normal massage, going over all normal areas, but the pressure was less than half a normal deep tissue massage. I get a massage to help with muscle tension, and felt like this was just a 'Feel good' 90 minutes. It felt nice in the moment, but did nothing for my muscles. I was not at all sore afterward as I am each time I get a massage elsewhere. I would recommend this place to someone getting a massage purely for relaxation, but I will not go again for a deep tissue massage.
