We have been looking for a place that specializes in "flavor enhancers" such as good quality olive…read moreoil, balsamic vinegar, and salt in the Durham region. When we found this place and opened the door, I was a bit overwhelmed by all the jars of olive oils and vinegar!! But the staff was very relaxed and allowed us to explore 80 different flavors of olive oils and balsamic vinegar. No pressure. This place offers tasting opportunities for customers. There are different size options, and from $7 for a small bottle (200ml) of olive oils. We bought - Corarina Olive oil (see pic) - Lemon Twist Sea Salt - Traditional 18-year style balsamic vinegar I tried the Coratina oil and the balsamic vinegar simply with bread and cheese. Enjoyed the balsamic vinegar's sweetness and thick, syrupy consistency, which is mixed with the Coratina's intense note of green! And the Lemon twist Sea Salt itself had a delicate flaky & crispy texture - I personally enjoyed it by dipping it in fresh veggies for extra texture. We had fresh chicken breast, so we marinated it in wine, oil, and herbs. And then roasted it and finally sprinkled with the Lemon Twist Sea Salt with a splash of Coratina Olive Oil - OMG so good. Will come here again to explore more. So glad to have this place in this area.

You must visit this Olive oil tasting bar! As a foodie I thought I knew everything there was to…read moreknow about EVOO but what I sampled, smelled and learned today has forever changed the way I think about olive oil! The owners Val & Tony Vagopoulos , are the most lovely, warm, gracious and passionate individuals! The layout of the store is GORGEOUS, the decor is fresh and highlight the dark bottles that are freshly filled on site for you to take home. You can taste everything on site using the mini cups found at an arm's reach throughout the store, or maybe a little cube of fresh bread in the beautiful jars. You'll learn so many things about olive oil from the experience at Olive That. One that I've learned was that regardless of pungency or infused notes of the olive oils they all share a similar attribute of being surprisingly "light" and by that I mean very delicate in the mouth, contrary to the "other" stuff labeled as (Extra Virgin Olive oil) which is heavy, greasy and all you're left with is this viscous mouthful. The staff will guide you through the store explaining everything there is to know about olive oil, how olive oil has a shelf life of up to 8 months maximum and when purchasing one must have access to vital information like the crush date be able to estimate the freshness Be sure to check out the divine assortment of balsamic vinegars! I couldn't resist walking away without the 18 year old traditional, aged espresso, and aged maple balsamic .. next time I'm going for the white! I selected the price range as moderate, even though some may see it as more "pricey" but I'll tell you a good bottle of olive oil or balsamic is well worth the investment even if you just buy a plain instead of splurging on the different flavours (you could always save that as special treats) and also it makes a great unique and personalized gift if you know someone's tastes! Go for it! So next time you're scheduling a couples date how about go Olive oil tasting!? or when you get together with your girlfriends or even a mother/daughter date. I've been inspired and so will you!

Awesome selection of Eastern European foods and drinks! I went to look for items from the country…read moreof Georgia, and found several items, including mineral waters (Borjomi and Nabeglavi), they also had Naktaktari tarragon lemonade, and several Georgian foods including Thkemali sauce, khmeli suneli spice, and several other foods I used to enjoy in Georgia including Jacobs coffee, Turkish coffee, Mayo and ketchup in the pouch, etc. They have a cooler of cheeses, kefir, fishes, and meats, a deli, as well as a freezer of dumplings, ice creams, cakes, and other frozen items. There's an aisle of sweets and an aisle of baking ingredients. Another aisle of non perishables, and drinks, and bulk candies as well. Even a pharmacy. Really a great variety and different items than what I've seen at other Eastern European stores in the area. Highly recommend!

Came back here the other day and got some Kvass, Sirki (Russian cheesecake dessert), pelmeni…read more(Russian dumplings sold frozen), some deli smoked meats and cheese. They have one of the largest selections of Kvass that I've seen out of any of the Russian/Ukranian stores and all very reasonably priced. They also sell Kefir. As mentioned in the previous review, they also sell medicine/pharmacy that you'd typically find in Russian and Eastern Europe, so it's pretty unique to see it out here. Store clerk was friendly.
