Not sure we would go out of our way to come here, but the diner does have that nostalgic feel and the staff are very friendly. First time trying this diner that I pass by all of the time! Was not disappointed. I was seated almost immediately in a booth by the counter. My server was out to me within seconds and had a big smile! I ordered a cheese omelette with hashbrowns and rye toast. The kitchen was busy, but my food was out in under 10 minutes. The omelette was exactly what I was hoping for, super cheesy and cooked perfectly. The hashbrowns were as expected. I would ask for them "well done" next time, because I enjoy the crunch lol! The toast was good. The decor was what really sold me on the place. They have tons of photos, vintage toys, cars, etc. lining the walls and shelves. The dining area was spotless, as was the bathroom. Charming little old-school diner. Got the chrome exterior and everything. Our waitress was straight out of central casting for a 50s diner waitress. Classic diner menu with over 100 items and lots of pictures. The vegetable beef soup and chicken noodle soup were both good. The open-face meatloaf sandwich with gravy was huge. My wife and I split it and had some left over. The meatloaf was sliced thin and was flavorful and juicy and they didn't try to get fancy and cram it full of giant chunks of onions and bell peppers, which I appreciated. The onion rings were stock diner frozen onion rings but were cooked well. I only had two problems. Anyone who knows me or my reviews knows I get pretty worked up about ketchup (and not catsup). It is bad enough not to have Heinz but this version of 'Fancy Ketchup' was just awful. Borderline inedible. The fries were also considerably underdone. Despite those two missteps, I enjoyed my experience and the meal on the whole was quite good. Would definitely go back and try something else if I find myself in the area again. read more

I have lived in the area for 35 years. This place is now terrible. Went for dinner. Only a few kids working. Someone in our party asked about something on the menu in our server told us that she does not eat where she works! Huge no-no! My husband ordered a milkshake and they brought him something that was very runny. I ordered a baked potato and sour cream and asked for my sour cream three times, I never got it. My soup was very old(noodles were disintegrated). Someone in our group ask for coffee - they got their coffee just about as we were leaving, but his bacon/cheese omelet was good he said. Someone else in our group got a burger and fries. Burger was good they said, but the fries came out cold. We've tried. We just won't go back. Maybe stick to just breakfast. read more

One of us ordered breakfast and enjoyed is (4 out of 5: good but not great; egg sandwich was good, but not the best and the grits were slightly undercooked.). The other two ordered lunches, and had an order accuracy issue and chicken tenders and French fries which were poor. One salad was ordered which was basically iceberg lettuce and cucumbers with a few extras. Probably a 3.75. Good diner fare. Had a Black & Bleu burger and fries, which came with a pickle spear and some very good (I'm a connoisseur) cole slaw. Wife got a fried egg sandwich (she's weird). Both got vanilla shakes (for health). Everything was on point and delivered really quickly. Service was solid. Interior is smallish, but in a very acceptable way. Will definitely return. read more

So I decided to stop here for breakfast on a road trip to Six Flags with my girlfriend. The service was mid the environment was OK. It wasn't too crowded. The food that I ate didn't really have much flavor. I needed to add salt, pepper and ketchup to the potatoes . The croissant was pretty good but could use a little more flavor as well. Other than that, I don't know if I would come here again. If you're white with no taste buds, this place is definitely recommend. read more

We had a brand new server who was very nice. The issue was with everything else. The other servers who were supposed to be training him were outwardly rude and just downright mean to him. Shameful! The food was horrible. Tried to order steak from the menu and was told steaks were no longer on the menu. Got a chopped steak instead. It was so hard that I couldn't chew it. I wouldn't even bring it home to my dog. The corn had vinegar in it or was spoiled. Salads were lacking everything except lettuce. Not some place you go for fine dining. A quick meal when you have no other choice. The place is clean. Portions are decent. Most items I have consumed were bland, not very creative with flavoring or seasoning. I think the cook knows two spices only - salt and pepper. We ate here on the way driving through the area. It looked cute so we pulled in and we're pleasantly surprised at the great food! Cheesesteak was excellent with good flavor and the right chew to the bread. The Reuben melt was full of meat and tasty. I'm a diner fanatic and this one is classic chrome so I had high hopes for a tasty time. Unlike previous reviews, we had speedy service (it was decently full for breakfast). The waitresses weren't particularly cheerful though it was fun hearing them interact with regulars. 50's and 60's decorations cover the walls and was entertaining to take a look at. The food was average - I got an omelette and hashbrowns and the hashbrowns were soft and seemed like they had been premade sitting in a pile and didn't get nearly as cooked as they should've or were the end of a batch. My mom and sister got grilled sticky buns which were awesome. All around it was a fairly average experience - I'd stop by if you're in the neighborhood but wouldn't go out of my way to get there. read more

We thought we'd try this place again since it's been open a while. Regretted it after the plate arrived. When one orders creamed chipped beef over biscuits IN LANCASTER COUNTY for crying out loud, where the stuff is sliced at the meat counter, you'd think you'd get REAL dried beef. Total rip off for a plate costing nearly $8. Husband asked for eggs over easy on the "Four on the Floor" plate and they were cooked through. The smoked sausage he had on his plate resembled a hot dog and did not look like smoked sausage at all. More chopped and formed crap. When you ask for a crab cake, do you expect it to be made with that fake cerimi crap? No. Pancakes were way too big for the plate they brought them out on, syrup went everywhere. They were very good though, nice and fluffy There are better diners, just not ones that are open that early on a Sunday up in this area. Choose wisely upon reviews here if you go. The stars are for the service, the waitress was friendly and very attentive. I would hope they read their reviews and take them as constructive critcism and improve the food quality for the prices they charge. When one comes to Lancaster County Diners, they expect the delicious meats the area is known for, not chopped and formed fake crap. Edit: someone mentioned this being some kind of "lower sodium meat loaf" - umm, ewwww! It should be called "lower sodium meat loaf gravy over biscuits vs chipped beef. I spotted this place while visiting the area and am glad to report it had very tasty breakfast for more than reasonable prices. I split a hungry man breakfast with my wife and we got 2 eggs over easy 1/2 pancake and 1/2 piece of French toast each. We split the included 4 slices of bacon , 3 link sausages and slice of Taylor pork roll and well done home fries plus 1 cup of coffee for $6.99 The place was clean and the staff and service was super friendly.
