Monkey Lounge - Spicy beef noodle soup (Bún Bò Huế)

    Monkey Lounge

Had a great experience at Monkey Lounge in Randolph and honestly was surprised by how unique the…read moreatmosphere was. The inside has a really fun upscale lounge vibe with colorful lighting, floral decor, hanging lanterns, and a huge centerpiece tree that makes the whole space feel almost like you are dining in a tropical garden. It feels trendy and lively without being overly loud, which made it a great spot for both dinner and drinks. For drinks, I ordered the mai tai and one of their mocktails. Both were well presented and came in beautiful glasses. The mai tai was refreshing, balanced, and not overly sweet like many places make them. The mocktail was also excellent and felt thoughtfully made rather than just tasting like juice. For food, the short ribs pho was fantastic. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the portion was generous with tender pieces of meat. Definitely one of the better pho presentations I have had in the area. I also ordered the sizzling steak pate with baguette, which came out hot and smelled amazing. The steak was tender and savory, the egg added richness, and pairing everything with the fresh baguette made for a really satisfying dish. Overall Monkey Lounge delivers on both ambiance and food quality. It feels like a hidden gem if you want somewhere with strong date night energy, aesthetic decor, and Vietnamese fusion dishes that actually taste as good as they look. Would absolutely come back again.

The aesthetics were so pretty (as you can see in the video I uploaded). They had a short window of time where it's happy hour where you get half off 2 appetizers (per table). We ordered Braised Pork Belly ($12) this was a 7/10 only because it was alot of fatty meat, Wings/Soy Garlic Flavor ($15) 10/10, french fries with the garlic sauce that it comes with on the side ($9), side of white rice ($2.50), for my drink a Blueberry Mojito ($14) 9/10 just wish it wasn't such a small amount with a Hefty amount of ice but it was good. Lemonade for my kiddo ($6.50 she said it was a 4/10) and for dessert Ube Tiramisu ($10.00) 1/10... We weren't a fan of the Tiramisu but overall everything was good. I definitely plan to return.

West End Grill - "medium rare" steak tips

Honestly, I'm pretty disappointed with our experience tonight…read more Our bill was around $100, and unfortunately it was some of the worst food we've had in the area. We ordered steak tips medium rare and a chicken sandwich. The steak tips came out severely overcooked , burnt on the outside, tough, and hard as a hockey puck. The chicken sandwich seemed absolutely drenched in what tasted like Frank's RedHot or a similar hot sauce, completely overpowering everything else. What's frustrating is that we've eaten here before and had a great experience, which is why we came back. This visit felt completely different. I honestly wondered if there was a different chef in the kitchen. The service itself was okay, and to be clear, we weren't looking to make a scene or demand items be taken off the bill. However, most of the food was left on the plate, and nobody stopped by to ask if there was an issue or why it wasn't being eaten. Maybe this was just an off night, but based on this experience, it's hard to justify spending $100 here again.

I sent it back. However, everything else was spot on. My daughter had the chicken parm panini which she said was excellent. She took half of her sandwich home. She also got onion rings. Hot, thin and crispy and a cup of clam chowder which is always great and thick We shared the stuffed mushrooms which are always our go to. Served on a spread of lobster bisque I got the pork dumplings which were delicious. My grandson had the kids meal hotdog it was really big for a kids meal, served on a brioche bun I secretly asked for a lemon cake to celebrate their birthdays. Corey brought it out with a candle in it Corey was our server and he's been there for years. Very pleasant and attentive Overall another great experience just won't order the onion soup again

What a delicious and affordable gem of an Italian place!…read more I've visited 3x in 3 months, and Brava Cucina always hits the mark. Logistics: garbage parking is free, convenient, and available- we missed it the first time! Streetside was easy too. Ambience: perfect for a gathering with friends or a professional meal or even a date night! Music is at a tasteful volume Value: Unbelievable. $36 for an a foccacia, app, and entree is such a steal in this economy; available every day! The entree portions were sizeable as well! Food: everything from the focaccia to the salads, pastas, pork milanese, desserts, and drinks were wonderful. Speedy and kind service. Would highly recommend coming in a crew to try as many menu items!

Lots of locals so make a rez for the lounge and hope to get moved to the bar. Josh was chatty and super friendly but soon got slammed (he doubled as waitstaff?) so you might not get his full attention as things get busy. All the Staff is lovely. Loved the meatballs, broccolini, melon & prosciutto, Verdi salad and grilled bread. My salmon entree was yummy. My date's pork Milanese was crispy and juicy. If you are looking for diabetic friendly sides to swap, not so many options. Everything was delicious. I tried the zero proof Buona Sera and it didn't agree with me so they swapped it out for a real espresso martini. The low ABV bicycle thief was delightful!

We also ordered their Caesar Salad which was good. I do remember this spot before it was Drifters and it was called Idle Hour which I loved so much. But I will say I am excited that a new pizza spot is now in its place. I think my next time that I try this will be physically at the restaurant. My only concern is that it is very loud. It is a great place to go watch sports for sure!

Grabbed drinks here with a friend on a Saturday night and wow was it busy!…read more There was live music when we first walked in so the ambiance was quite loud... like I could barely hear myself let alone hold a conversation. The place itself was small too so the music really overpowered everything. But once the live music wrapped up the vibes were good! Not too loud that I was screaming over it, but still lively. I got the Heart of Stone which was delicious! Not too sour or sweet, but was definitely a strong cocktail. I had 3/4 of it and I was already feeling it. My friend got an Old Fashioned and she was a big fan! It went down quite smoothly and tasted good too. For $14 a drink, it was a little pricy but honestly I've seen places in Boston charge more. I would recommend coming here to grab drinks but maybe not a spot to catch up because of how loud it was. Would love to try their food as it looked pretty good!
