Have gone back several times to fix the issue and each time the problem is "fixed" but never really is. Cleaning was horrendous, they had a new hire work on my teeth who had no idea what she was doing. I felt bad for her and for myself. The whole cleaning took 15 minutes!!!! Dr. Hsu was great at diagnosing for cavities but she doesn't qualify as a dentist. This place is a scam, going back to my old dentist. Don't be fooled by their promotions!

For many years, I had nothing but grade "A" experiences with Parkview Dental in Vancouver. Dr…read more Ayoughi is very skilled at what he does and is extremely welcoming and the front staff has been fantastic! Unfortunately over my last few visits, I found myself in the hands of other dentists at the clinic and to be honest it felt like I was experiencing student work. Everything from not being given the "lead bib / Apron" during multiple ex-rays (They started with it, then had to redo the ex-rays a few times and No Bib) to dealing with a student assistant that was very nervous and not knowing the instruments (the original assistant called in sick at the last minute) to being put almost upside down while getting a root canal (Very uncomfortable Position!), to having temp filing pop-out. The last 3 visits were 1) A root canal and crown, (not done by Dr.Ayoughi) I had to return 3 times due to temp falling out and pain. The first time they re-cemented the temp that had poped-out, the 2nd time they tried adjusting the crown with no success 2 weeks after installing it. 3) The third time I was still in pain, I demanded to bee seen by Dr. Ayoughi and he was very nice in explaining what might be going on and did more adjustments and told me his assistant would check-in with me in 1 week or 2 to see how I felt as he was leaving on Vacation and she did, she left a message as I was unable to answer the call at the time. I returned the call that evening and left a message saying that I was still in pain, at that point it became "Radio silence" never heard back! I had to go to another Dental clinic to get checked and that's where they told me that the root canal was excellent but the crown was to close to the bone and that was the pain / discomfort I was feeling. 2 options were given to me 1) an expensive surgery to repair the problem or 2) let time do the work and allow bone matter to grow. Parkview Dental was one of the very best service I'd ever receive in a dental clinic, until I was switched around without being asked and passed around to other dentists in the clinic, then the quality of work went downhill. I unfortunately had to move on to an other clinic. The front staff has always been good and accommodating. PS: That was not my first root canal, I've had a few, so I'm well aware of how it should go and feel.

That said, I would like to commend Dr Hua. He has been my dentist for the last few years, and while I expect that I will never again find a dentist as cheap as my previous one, I haven't felt that Dr Hua or Brentwood Dental has over-charged me in any of my visits. I don't carry any dental insurance, so I must admit that I do tend to only visit the dentist only when I can no longer avoid it. Most recently, I visited Dr Hua for the extraction of two wisdom teeth. The initial consultation included a 3d x-ray and a very clear explanation of what was needing to happen, and the range of what it would cost. One of them had disintegrated and I knew that I could not prolong dealing with them any longer. The procedure took under an hour and I wasn't even aware that Dr Hua was wrapping up, he was that smooth. It was as painless as can be expected for local anesthetic, I have no doubts about the quality of work and, happily, came in at the low end of the cost estimation. All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend Brentwood Dental, assuming that all the dentists there are of equal quality to Dr Hua.

From the moment you check in, the staff are extremely friendly, kind and personable while being professional. The hygienist I saw was Natasha and not only was she super sweet and kind, she was full of helpful suggestions such as how to floss properly (she demonstrated it while I held a mirror so I could see). The dentist I saw is Dr. Shivji (junior). You can tell that he is confident in what he does and has great knowledge. Not only is her super personable but he is honest- he will not recommend getting things done that you don't really need just to make more money for the business (as I have experienced at other dental offices in the past). I get anxious about feeling anything when getting fillings and he was very gentle and reassuring, always checking to make sure I was doing ok. I trust him to give me good dental advice. Again, I cannot say enough good things about everyone working at Alpha Dental and my only regret is not being a patient here sooner.

I have been to the dentist more than I would like to admit so I have quite a bit of experience with them. When I walked in the clinic I was pleasantly surprised that this little gem was hiding in my neighbourhood all this time. The staff were extremely pleasant and the office itself was modern, warm and inviting. They have all the latest and greatest equipment and all the staff were very professional yet still friendly and upbeat. Dr. Nguyen has one of the best bedside manners of the 8 different dentists I have had over the many years and felt confident I had made the right choice even before the work began. He has a great personality. His assitant Tas was very professional and knowledgeable and the two of them work so so well together. The professionalism between them was very comforting and gave me a sense of trust one would like to have being in a dental office. Very thorough and efficient. I had a molar extracted the first visit and I healed very well and he did an amazing job which is a testament to his work. A crown on my second and it went awesome as well! In the end, I am only disappointed I had not found him earlier as I would have left my prior dentist for Dr. Nguyen and his team in a heartbeat. I would highly recommend Newton Village Dental Clinic and will be coming here for years to come for sure.
