The oral surgeon told me that he'd conduct surgery in a week, but I got a slot sooner. When I arrived, not only did the oral surgeon attempt the same procedure and fail because of the pain caused on that region, he tried to charge me twice as much as these guys. Meanwhile with the yanking, crushing, and poking, I now have triple the pain in the region then I did before. Never take recommendations from these people, they don't have a clue, and they won't help you. They will attempt to cast you on their friends in this 'dental cartel' to extract your wealth and leave you miserable. I remain in grave pain.

Dr. Velonas took the time and patience with me in making sure that I was completely comfortable with him and everything he was doing. Dr. Velonas has taken the time which consists of hours to ensure that I am comfortable with all of the procedures which I have required. I can honestly say that now I can go to the dentist confidently with ALOT less fear and actually laugh with my dentist. A good family friend told me it was worth the trip (I live in South Surrey which is a little out of the way). She was so right. This practice has everything I have been missing. After 2 visits I have found my new dentist. I am not a fan of going to the dentist. I had a couple of scary experiences when I was younger which still gives me some anxiety even when I am just getting a cleaning. The staff at Newton Village Dental is so great. The ladies at the front were warm and not pretentious and the overall atmosphere was comfortable and non intimidating. Initially I had a cleaning by a hygienist who did a great job. My first check up with Dr. Velonas was great. He is very calm, normal and good humoured and I could tell he has a real connection with his staff. Dr. Velonas was very to the point about certain work I needed after neglecting my teeth for a few years while moving around (and admittedly for my fear of dentists). He explained my options very clearly and without the feeling of up-selling or pressure. I really appreciated his compassionate yet firm advice. We figured out a plan for my dental work that worked for me and I am actually sort of looking forward to getting this done finally. Dr. Velonas seems to truly care about his patients and it is clear he has a passion for helping people. My second visit was for a couple of fillings. As far as I can remember I have never been to a dentist where I have managed to laugh (especially when there to get fillings). It was an unpleasant experience for me, as I was charged for a 60 mins RMT session, and the RMT ended the session in 45 mins (including wait time and change of clothes, 4:36 PM - 5:25 PM). Despite the fact that 60 mins and 45 mins sessions are at 2 different rates. When I questioned the lady at the reception she kept staring at the computer screen, pretending she didn't understand my complain. Later tells me since she has already submitted the claim to the insurance company, so nothing can be done. For me this was an unethical and unprofessional practice. Message for the clinic- Please do not think of your customer as an idiot. Being a newer establishment, ethical practices would go a long way for you.
